I wanted to do a post featuring some kitsuke over the past few months! A dear friend of mine has started designing and she has created some STUNNING custom pieces for me this year. My personal favorite is her creation featuring woodblock prints, called “Abuna” or risky. The pairing with the peach on the obi here lends a particularly intriguingly sensual air to things, which I personally LOVE! There are more pieces to come but I have not officially worn those yet. Please check out Imouto by Hanami of Little Yoshiwara in Second Life! Enjoy this sneak peak and see you soon at Ozashiki!

April Kitsuke time! This is my first kitsuke post as a Geiko! This kimono was designed by Toshiha-kaasan of Zashiki-gi, and features a beautiful sakura motif on a white background, along with a grey-blue dip dyed bottom. The sakura have been lovingly painted on, and I love the subdued soft white color. Pink is often associated with sakura, though they can come in a pink so pale, they appear white as well! In a few weeks I will have to drag the takamakura out again, since we will be performing Miyako Odori and my hair will need to be styled again. I must say, wearing a wig is so nice, though it can be a bit heavy. See you all soon!

Here are some quick snaps from my erikae! I look so simple as a geiko compared to as a maiko, but I am quite enjoying sleeping on a pillow instead of a takamakura each night! My kimono featured a beautiful phoenix, almost guiding me through my erikae! It had threads of embroidered gold and silver, and I was so fascinated with the design. I also had Okaasan add some bamboo and pine, making sure I can wear this magnificent ensemble again and again, as it has quickly become my favorite kimono in my collection.

I am pleased to announce that I have become a geiko! After a couple of years of being really busy, and not really being sure where my career would go, I turned my collar, and I debuted as a Geiko last month. Here are some details from my Sakkou ensemble created mostly by my Okaasan, Toshiha! I added a few elements here and there, but she made the kimono, the obi, and my custom Takarabune kanzashi! The major motifs on my kimono were a beautiful golden embroidered chrysanthemum and my absolute favorite,  Benzaiten!  Benzaiten is the guardian of all artists, especially Geisha and Geiko! I was so happy to have her with me, at least on my kimono throughout my time moving from tea house to tea house in my final days as a maiko!

August Kitsuke time! As a recently promoted Sr. Maiko, you will notice some changes to my appearance. My kimono have become a little more mature, with patterns closer to the bottom and plain colors at the shoulders. There still might be a few lingering floral pieces around the top but for the most part, the focus is below my elbows. My makeup has become ever so slightly mature with a little less pink, and I get to wear Ofuku as my new every day hairstyle^^ The susuki kanzashi for the month of August is susuki grass and as a Jr. Maiko, you will see a pink paint on the back of the metal leaves, but as a Sr. Maiko, I chose to offset the bright pink of my Jr. Maiko kanzashi with a blue/green paint. I love how it gives a fresh look to my kanzashi and stands out a little. Lastly, my Kago this summer has been a lovely gold fish design. I thought he would be a cute little companion on late night walks home. Ookini san dosu, and Otano moshimasu!

I visited Miyagawacho today! The lovely Kyoto designed and built by Kikutsuru-san was my very first home in second life. I like to visit as often as I can. The sim has come such a long way since I was there last. Go visit if you get the chance! I imagine some very exciting things will come from Hanafusa Okiya soon!

This blog did not and will not send requests for bitcoin donations.
There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.
The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”
The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.
The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.
DO NOT OPEN THE LINK.
Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.
If you have received a message of that sort from this blog please know that it was not sent by me or within my control and ignore/delete the message without clicking the link.

Note
I saw your Okaasans profile as saying on hiatus. Is your Okiya still active?
We are still quite active but we typically go dark, or take time off, for family at this time of year. We value family bonds, blood or ceremonial, and this time of year we are traveling so much , we take time for real life. Ookini san dosu^^
