summary: tsukishima kei gets nervous. well, no shit, of course he gets nervous.

review: this fic is frankly adorable. tsukishima is soft and sweet and nervous here, while maintaining his classic tsukki flavour- slightly snippy, sharp and rational. a short and cute work about tsukki’s softer and more insecure side, and a really sweet moment between him and the reader <3

title: when the crows jumped over the moon

summary: During practice one day, Yachi points out to the entire team that Tsukishima’s birthday is coming up in a week. Since then, Tsukishima’s life has known no peace.

review: if you’re ever looking to assuage your craving for Karasuno first year shenanigans, look no further. this fic is chock full of fluffy, humourous goodness. a fantastically well written piece with tsukishima at the heart of it, with the craziness of the rest of the Karasuno team as the supporting cast. though i’ve only linked the first part here, do read the rest of it on ao3, i promise it’s a treat!

summary: grey day, rainy day. you wait for daichi to go home together.

review: not many fics feature daichi sawamura, but this fic manages to capture the essence of his character perfectly in the line “the stern simplicity and transparent tenderness that ran parallel to each other in his words”. a lovely bit of fluff that feels grounded in its quiet sentimentality while echoing the innocence of high school romance.

summary: after an argument, tsukki apologizes. kinda. not really, but it’s something. 

review: its difficult finding a piece that finds the right balance between tsukishima’s snarkiness and hidden emotional core, but this fic manages it brilliantly. it’s a simple premise - tsukki and the reader resolving an argument over a phone conversation, but the way the dialogue between tsukki and the reader is written is heartfelt yet teasing and oh-so-real.

deleting the network!

hello everyone! this is admin jahni and i want to say that i will be deleting the network soon. this seems really abrupt and out of the blue, but it’s a well thought out decision after taking some time and coming to realize that network has also been the reason of causing my stress.

the idea of running a network was to bring together writers and to help promote works because we all know how shit tumblr’s algorithms are, but ive seen people bring the network’s name into their stupid hate anons and messages, and this network has brought more bad instead of the good i was hoping for, so i’ll be deleting this network as of tomorrow at 12 pm EST.

i want to say thank you for all those who joined and that i really love you all, but i need to focus on myself and my health. thank you!

finals week is coming up real soon, and i’ve also got a ton of extracurriculars, so i’ll be inactive for a few weeks. i hope that’s alright with u guys :)

i will say, though, i’ve been posting every week since i started this blog (six months!) so i’m reluctantly giving myself a little bit of a breather.

BUT DO NOT FRET! i’ll be back asap and my suna series is definitely NOT discontinued. i love every single on of my moots and followers and i have a bunch of ideas i’m going to be working on once this term ends.

there’s a softness to tsukishima kei that you get to experience sometimes. now that you’re dating, that side of his peeks through a little more often than it would before. it’s different than the softness he reserves for the people he loves, like his mom and akiteru and yamaguchi—it’s a particular gentleness that he shows you, and you only. 

it’s an odd hour in the night, close to morning. you’re pushed awake gently, cold hands tapping against your temple and neck to try and snap you to your senses. 

you let out a groan—it comes out cracked and congested, a result of the rough sickness that’s taken hold of your body. opening your eyes proves to be a difficult task, lids parting with a dreariness that’s spread through your limbs, too. 

the form of your boyfriend hovers over you, glasses put away and a medical mask pinched tightly on the bridge of his nose. he looks tired and a bit dazed, like he’d just woken up a few minutes ago—which you don’t doubt is what happened. a few moment pass of you simply blinking up blearily at him, and there’s an endearing crinkle at the corners of his eyes that alerts you of his loving expression. 

cold hands smooth over your forehead, tracing circles into your temples. “i came to check your temperature really quickly. then you can go back to sleep,” he tells you. “how are you feeling?” 

a faint groan escapes you as your eyes flutter shut, senses weak and mind slow to process everything. “a bit better,” you croak out, flinching at the texture of your voice. “not that great, but it’s something.” 

kei hums, moving to replace the covering on the electric thermometer before shuffling closer to you. “you know the drill,” he says, “i’ll hold this under your tongue for a bit. stay still while i do it. if it’s uncomfortable, then tell me— or, y’know, hit me or pinch me or something.” 

the cool metal of the thermometer pushes under your tongue—it’s uncomfortable, of course, digging into your gums the slightest bit, but it’s a necessary evil in the whole grand scheme of being sick. 

when kei check the temperature after the small device beeps, there’s a hint of relief in his expression. “it’s going down a bit. you’ll be back to normal soon.” his eyes flit to you, pale amber and golden specks of light boring into your puffy eyes. you’re halfway back to falling unconscious when his stupid-cold hands touch the side of your neck again. 

his thumbnail digs in slightly, a soothing rhythm of patterns being traced into your skin gently. “go back to sleep if you can. there’s no practice today for the team and i called out of work. i’ll be here to take care of you.” 

there’s this clear tenderness in him—in his hands, his nails, his eyes, his words. it makes you feel warm, a warmth different than the feverish heat you’re experiencing. a kind of warmth that starts from your head and slips down to your toes in a pleasant buzz. 

you nod against his hand when he cups your cheek, a contented sigh escaping you. you’re nearing the edges of sleep, anticipating the gentle rest that awaits you. 

and when you fall asleep, the last thing you hear is a soft “i love you” whispered against the edges of your hairline.
