Paloma should have known that King would never give her the satisfaction of knowing what was behind that poker face of his, and yet it bothered her. Ever since she’d first met the guy, he had always been this way. Cold, aloof. She’d never actually seen him caught off guard. Now that she thought about it, in their six long years of “friendship”, she’d never seen him caught off guard. Her eyebrow perked up and the corners of her lips curled up into a small, almost mischievous, smile when she realized that two could play that game. “Hmmm,” she mumbled. Her eyes scanned the room to find her friend, Jules, who was chatting happily to a mutual friend. Paloma waved at her and made sure she was doing alright before she stoop up from the couch. Her hair, which was pulled up into a high ponytail, fell down her shoulder as she turned to stand in between his legs. She was determined to make him smile. “I’m bored,” the brunette said as she held out her hand. “Let’s dance.” 

King hated being seen at his weakest and most vulnerable, it was something that the spotlight had taught him from a young age. dont get caught slackin. If you get caught off guard and with the wrong people, hollywood could be a very dangerous place and he probably knew paloma knew that. that should had been his first word advice to her. kings eyes follow the brunette as she stood up, moving between his legs his eyes slowly ran up and down to admire her body. King leaned in, placing a hand on her thigh and ran it up her body before his hand met with hers. “brave of you to think that I dance.” he commented before standing up, his hand gripping hers. “ i thought we both knew why i really came here and we know its not to dance.”

Paloma watched him as he measured a bump of his own and snorted the white powder off the tip like it was nothing, returning his wink with a playful smile. “Yes, well, a key works quicker than racking up lines. It’s more sufficient.“ she shrugged knowingly and sat back into the couch, sliding the wrapper back into its previous spot. Paloma closed her eyes again and allowed herself to doze off into her high for a minute. It did not take long for the party drug to kick in. A wave of pleasant tingles ran down her spine, her body relaxed and her worried mind was free from tension and anxiety. Fuck, she loved this feeling. She opened her eyes and looked to her left as if to check if he was feeling the same. She smiled at him knowingly. “Pretty good, huh?” her eyes studied his face for a second. Much like Paloma herself, she’d noticed, King did not smile a lot. “You have a pretty smile, by the way. I think you should smile more.” 

Before he knew it he could feel tingling run up and down his body due to the white substance that she had brought. it was a feeling that he forgot he had missed. what was he even trying to be sober for? his life needed fun and this is what it provided him. It was a pleasant surprise from his usual drinking and smoking habits especially when it was paired with the girl that gave it to him. Kings arms stretched out on either side of him, leaning back as he let out a deep exhale. “i’ve had better but it certainly wasn’t the worst.” he replied with a small nod. his smile soon faded into his normal poker face as she spoke. “ then give me reasons to smile, then youll see it more often.”
