Not All Stories Have A Happy Ending-FINAL
Jay seemed much brighter this morning, almost like yesterday's incident never happened. His new found relationship with his best friend was the topic in Jay's mind. Tim on the other hand was more observant now, he started to notice Jay's more sickly pale skin and deeper eyebags, the skin around his nose looked irritated from constant blowing, "hm," Tim thought to himself "he hasn't been sick recently.." Tim could only come up with the conclusion that he's having nosebleeds which worries him more.
Jay smiled and gently held Tim's hand and walked out the musty motel with him, Tim was smoking a cigarette with his spare hand "I have somewhere to bring you today." Tim said as he opened the passenger door of his car for Jay, Jay seemed a little confused until a smile appeared on his face "really? like a date?" Tim slowly nodded in response "yeah…you could stay that."
As the two drove in the car Tim's head was flooded with all different kinds of thoughts "If Jay is capable of killing a bird because it was staring at him, imagine what he'd do to a person.." he thought to himself, glancing over at Jay who was pointing his camera out the window and observing, Tim quickly brought his eyes back to the road and continued driving.
"Jay," Tim said softly, his voice completely calm. almost robotic, "you know I love you right?" Jay took a few seconds to respond, Tim telling him he loved him so soon was a bit quick for Jay. Yet, it felt right. "Yeah.." he mumbled, looking over at him.
"Just, remember I'd do anything to keep you safe." Tim mumbled, Jay felt an uneasy feeling in his stomach. It wasn't like Tim to say such things, he tried to manipulate himself into thinking Tim has revealed this new side to himself that Tim hasn't seen yet. Maybe a soft protective side, though Jay knew who the real Tim was. Yet He still loved him dearly
Jay tried not to be too uneasy about Tim's words and just smiled at him "who knew you could be so cringy." Jay said while grinning, Tim smiled and sighed "yeah.." He mumbled. The two men sat in silence after that, the two having uneasy feelings in their stomach's for different reasons. The car eventually came to a stop outside an old college building.
The building was tall, three storeys high. Moss creeped up the red brick walls, covering some of the shattered windows. Fungi growing at the foundation, the place looked familiar. Jay thought he'd seen something like this before but his memory was so bad lately there was no hope trying to guess. "Wow Tim such a cute date spot" he said sarcastically, Tim looked over at him while trying to light a cigarette "what can I say, I'm a gentleman."
The two walked in together, doing their usual investigation. Time seemed to stop for Tim when Jay walked away to look at something, he knew this was the best time to do it. If he didn't do it now he'd only get worse, he crouched down and took a loaded pistol from his boot. His hand was unable to steady, he could barely aim in a straight line, Tim tried to remember the words Brian told him about animals back in college "if you shoot it right in the back of the head….it'll put it out of it's misery without it suffering." he told himself, he had to hold the gun with both hands, he had to give Alex credit for being able to hold it so steadily. "Jay…I just wanted to say, I really do love you, and I can't wait to live my life with you when this is all over.." Jay smiled, he was faced away from Tim still "That's n-.." Jay's sentence was cut off by a loud bang and his body going limp, falling onto the floor and bleeding out from the head. He was dead. Tim stood there in shock, he dropped the gun and looked at his lover's corpse. Tim had planned to do this, when he killed that bluejay he knew Jay would only start to get more and more violent like Alex.
Tim stumbled over to the new corpse and fell to his knees beside him. He confessed his love to Jay so he'd at least have his last few moments in happiness, Tim knew it would never last anyway. Tim felt the back of his head and let the crimson blood stain his hand, even though it was planned it still hurt. It fucking hurt bad. After what felt like hours he finally stood up, took Jay's camera and left. Leaving the new corpse to rot, alone.
Tim sat in his car for a while and just stared at the camera that now had a broken lens because of it falling at Jay's death. Tim had tears running down his face, Tim never cried but Jay was different to him. He kept the camera close the whole drive home. At least Jay died knowing Tim would never hurt him.

Not All Stories Have A Happy Ending -CH3
Tim stretched and groaned "yeah yeah, I know" he said, his eyes squinting from the harsh sunlight. He sat up slowly and stumbled into the bathroom, holding the wall. He had to lean on things at times due to the time when Alex crushed his leg, it never recovered fully after that. Tim did the same as the other male, splashing his face with water and making sure he looks presentable. He walked out the room, his eyes finally adjusting to the harsh sunlight.
"It's finally sunny for once" Jay said with a small smile, "it's been a while since it's been so nice" he said again, looking out the window seeing the wooded area ahead. Tim let out another tired yawn and tossed Jay his backpack filled with tapes, a med kit and Tim's backup medication, his current pills in his back pocket.
The two men exit the motel and head to Tim's car in the parking lot, both getting in and driving towards their destination. Jay was looking out the window, keeping his camera on the dashboard in front of him recording the road ahead. The two men let the silence loom over them, for a while now they've both had feelings for each other but both thought it was an awkward time to bring it up during the situation they're in. Jay tapped his fingers against the dashboard whilst Tim was smoking a cigarette while driving
"y'know you should probably start thinking about quitting, you have fucked up lungs already" Jay said, breaking the silence. Tim took a drag of the cigarette and blew the smoke out the window "hm, no. I'm still alive so I have no reason to quit, my lung problems aren't because of them" he replied as he took another drag, Jay was about to say something until Tim spoke again "You can blame Alex for this, I had to smoke for that stupid part" Just hearing that name sent shivers down Jay's spine, he feared Alex. Mainly because he didn't want to end up like him and kill people, especially Tim. He'd never forgive himself if he did. A small smile appeared on his face just thinking about him and Tim together after all this ended, that's all he wanted though recently that dream seemed further and further away, Jay was snapped out of that fantasy when the car came to a sudden stop.
"Are we here already?" He asked Tim, looking over at him once more. Tim nodded and put out his cigarette in one of the cup holders. "Yeah, though there's a bit of a walk" he told Jay before getting out of the car, Jay quickly grabbed his camera and walked down the hiking trail with Tim, eventually they diverted from the path to make their way to the abandoned building. Tim started talking to distract himself from the horrible memories of the place. "so, have you ever had a boyfriend before?" he asked Jay, awaiting his answer easily. Jay was a little confused by the question, Tim's often serious when it comes to times like these and now he's asking if Jay had a boyfriend before? It took him a couple seconds to answer but he eventually answered "A few, they never really lasted though since it was often 'experimental'" Tim nodded and continued to make conversation "I had a girlfriend before, but I didn't really like her" Jay nodded "ah I see" Jay mumbled, looking the opposite way, that statement made Jay assume Tim was straight.
Tim noticed his sudden mood change and tried to turn it around, "well uh, I wouldn't mind dating a man, I just never had the opportunity too" Jay turned his head to him, a little wider than normal "really?" Jay asked, surprised by his statement. Tim nodded and Jay looked away, the conversation ending. Tim wasn't an idiot he knew Jay liked him, he dropped hints all the time though he still thought now wouldn't be the right time. They both were faced with the old abandoned building, the building was tall. at least 3 stories high. Wildlife and vines covered the building, taking it over, graffiti also covered some places, though Tim knew most graffiti would be on the inside. The two men walked in, their shoes crushing the debris underneath them, the place was a wreck. Jay pointed his camera everywhere he could, gathering as much information as possible. "I'm going to look upstairs," said Jay, leaving Tim on his own on the ground floor. The only sounds around him were the birds flying through the holes in the walls and the breeze passing throughout. Tim wandered around the empty halls of the building looking for clues, looking for someone or something that'll give him the answer to all this. He eventually found nothing down there and decided to head upstairs to where Jay said he'd be.
He walked up the old wrecked staircase to see Jay standing there, lifelessly. "Jay?" Tim said, his voice echoing through the building. Jay slowly turned to face him, a mauled bluejay in his hands. "It wouldn't shut up" he told Tim, his hands trembling. Tim slowly walked over to him, gently taking the dead bird from his hands and tossing it into the debris underneath them. "Hey hey it's okay, tell me what happened" he asked Jay, trying to figure out what happened.
"It had no face" Jay mumbled, looking blankly at the floor "I had to kill it. It had no face Tim" he said again, his voice almost in a whisper as he looked at Tim. Tim felt a pit in his stomach, he's known that Jay sees the same creature as him, but now he's starting to hallucinate and get violent? All Tim could feel was a cloud of guilt over him, Jays like this because of him.
Tim slowly held both his hands, he could feel Jay shake "it'll be okay I promise you'll be fine" he reassured Jay. He slowly guided Jay downstairs and outside, leaving the dead bird to rot and decompose alone. Tim had an uneasy pit in his stomach, first it was Alex with the more violent tendencies and now it was Jay, he decided to let it slide and pass it as a once off thing. He held Jay's hand all the way through the hiking trail and back to the carpark, "hey Jay?" Tim spoke softly, Jay's eyes looked into the other mans, previously looking at the floor before "I know this doesn't seem like the right time…or place but I uh" Tim paused "like you" Tim felt awkward saying this, it was so sudden and out of the blue. His awkwardness melted away when he saw a bit of life in Jay's eyes again, "well that cheered him up" Tim thought to himself. "you like me?" Jay mumbled, a small smile creeping on his face "like more than a friend?" Tim smiled and nodded "of course more than a friend what else would I mean" Jay pulled in for a tight hug, the two men didn't need any more than that, knowing they had each other was all that mattered to them now.
The moment was bittersweet, the men went back to the shady motel together. The rain started to come down as they drove there, they had a long day ahead of them tomorrow.

Not All Stories Have A Happy Ending -CH2
As they opened the door the room wasn't appealing, the same red carpet covered the floors of this room too, the walls were an ugly beige wallpaper and the beds had a dark oak frame and off-white sheets. There was a small desk with an old hairdryer and dirty mirror, the dirt made Jay's stomach churn. Though Tim didn't seem to mind, he'd stay anywhere for a cheap price. They set their bags down and had one twin bed each, the two men for comfortable sleeping with each other, but having their own space for sleeping might make this more enjoyable"So this is where we'll be staying, '' Jay said as he sat on the edge of his bed, the bed frame creaking beneath his weight.
Tim nodded as he opened the window beside one of the beds and lit up another cigarette "It could be worse" he exclaimed while the cigarette was in his mouth. The smoke escaping the ends of it and catching the breeze outside the window Jay stretched and laid down in his bed, looking up at the ceiling. He had his camera on the bedside table beside him, "Do you ever put that stupid thing away?" Tim huffed as he blew the smoke out his mouth. Jay shrugged in response "y'know in case something ha—" he was cut off by Tim "and what'll you do if you do catch something? The world is still spinning and we'll still be in his situation" Jay went quiet, he did it as a sense of security, so he always knew what was going on around him.
He felt happy like this though he would prefer to not have to do this at all, go back to being a college student and living a normal life. Tim sighed "look Jay I'm just worried about you, I've been dealing with this all my life and I.." he sighed again and took another drag "I just don't want you to end up like I did" Jay knew exactly what Tim meant by that statement, Tim already told him he that he lived in a mental hospital all his life. "I know Tim" he mumbled quietly, "I'll see you in the morning" he turned off the light and curled up facing the wall. He was grateful to have Tim in his life, he trusted him with it. He knew Tim wouldn't do anything to ever hurt him.
The morning sun rose over the soft clouds, the sky was a bright blue. Something the two men haven't seen in a while.
Jay was the first to wake up of the two, he stumbled out of bed and splashed his face with water in the bathroom, trying to wake himself up. He stretched and looked at himself in the mirror, his eyebags slowly getting more and more deep. Making him look like a fresh corpse, he hasn't been able to sleep properly since this whole situation, he didn't have the guts to tell Tim he was getting worse. The hallucinations and coughing fits were getting too much to handle and too big to hide. The common nosebleeds he'd get and would just blame untrue facts
He walked out of the dark bathroom to see the room shredded in the sunlight that was peaking through the stained curtains. Tim was laying in his bed, his arm over his eyes and trying to get more sleep, Jay grinned as he ripped the curtains apart, leaving the bright morning sun to fill up the room. Jay threw Tim's cigarette packet at him "Get up sleepyhead we need to go to that abandoned building."
Tim groaned and sat up, stuffing the cigarettes into his pocket and leaning over to grab some body spray from his bag, even talking about that abandoned building made Tim sick to his stomach. Tim didn't have much memory of what happened in the past with Alex though he found the tape where he was across the head in the building. Also because he knows that Jay's seen his medical papers and should be able to figure out that the abandoned building is Tim's old mental hospital.

Not All Stories Have a Happy Ending - CH1
The air was heavy, a thick fog covering the building. The bright moon is shining as bright as the sun. The building was shone with the moonlight, the only other thing lighting it up was the big motel sign in a bright neon red The breeze brushed the trees and bushes around the building, showing off the buildings cracked plastered walls and mouldy white appearance. It looked like it wasn't taken care of in years, luckily most of the walls were covered by windows and balconies. Most of the windows are covered with the curtains from the inside room, some breezed with the dark cold wind as some windows are left open. To the left of the building was a yellow sign that led to a tunnel, the tunnel leading to a small car park on the other side, the ceiling of the tunnel covered in iridescent lighting like the ones from shopping malls. Two men loomed on the path leading towards the building, both with tired paranoid expressions.
One holding a camera and the other smoking a cigarette, chain smoking, Cigarette after cigarette. The man holding the camera was tall and slim, his eyes constantly wide, like he was running from something. His face was hollow from malnourishment, like he hadn't had time to eat a proper meal. His jaw was covered in a small amount of stubble, almost as if he's given up on shaving. His outfit looked thrown together, it consisted of a brown basketball cap along with a brown hoodie, underneath a plain white shirt, finished with light washed jeans and muddy sneakers. Though the man next to him seemed like his opposite, he was big and broad. His hair was slicked back, leaving his side part to the side still, his facial hair ran down his jaw like sideburns and his eyes had a cold, tired stare. In his hand lay a cigarette that he'd bring to his mouth every few seconds, his lips cracked from the nicotine and cool breeze. His outfit consisted of a red flannel and a beige jacket over it. Then dark washed jeans and steel capped boots.
The two men finally walked inside the ominous building, the place we're they'll stay for the next few weeks. Unless that thing finds them. As they walked in the inside was just like the outside, the walls were cracked and chipped in places, the front desk looked worn out and scratched up, the paint chipping off it revealing the mouldy wood underneath. The two men weren't currently working so this was all they could afford. "You really think this is a good place to stay?" The taller man mumbled anxiously, Jay was often like this always looking over his shoulder and worried about everything. It was a normal reaction to the situation they were in. Along with his anxious behaviour he also records himself, others and every action he takes, which often annoys the smaller man, Tim, off.
Tim took one more drag of his cigarette before pushing it into the already destroyed front desk to put it out. He saw the 'No Smoking' sign and wasn't in the mood for an overpriced fine. "Not sure." he said shortly "I've stayed at worse, we should be grateful for what he has" he spoke quietly while shrugging. Jay nodded in response, he knew he should be grateful considering there's people out there on the same budget with no place to stay. After the two men got their room keys they walked to the room together, the hallways dark and dim, as if they were in a horror movie. The light in the distance flickering and the carpet a deep crimson red, the walls and off white. Almost yellow tone with the same cracks and peels. They get to their door, the wood chipped with the numbers '222' engraved and painted in with white to stand out, though the middle two was barely noticeable.
