Her nuisance of a brain refusing to rest in the light of all that was going on, Maggie had already been at the coffee shop long before she had texted him to meet her if he was free. Part of her was intrigued by him, wanting to know why his people thought a fake relationship would fix all his problems in the first place. Even more so as to why they thought she was the perfect girl to do so. Eyes trained on him as he sat down, always analyzing the world around her, she felt her own breath leave her as he finally seemed to relax around her. Nervousness she didn’t even realize she possessed until now. “It sounds like you want me to ask you the '50 questions on how to make someone fall in love with me',” she teased right back, tapping her fingertips on the notebook in front of her. “Oh we’re absolutely doing those ‘is my crush compatible with me’ quizzes found in teen magazines,” her eyes hiding playfulness behind them. “I just don’t know anything about you and I’m a terrible actress. I figure if I’m supposed to be madly in love with you I should know something about you other than your name.”
for a moment , he worries that he’s late . upon realizing she’d shown up before him , eyes cast towards the watch that rested upside down on his wrist . twist of his arm is subtle , but he clocks that he isn’t late and that’s enough to settle his nerves . once he’s actually sitting , kels straightens his posture a bit and takes a quick glance towards their surroundings . to become very aware of cameras was something that came with the limelight , but he didn’t see any just yet . thank god for that , right ? such an observation makes him relax even more , leaves him feeling like he can actually focus on the conversation at hand rather than worrying about how they looked to everyone else . ❛ no , yeah . that’s . . . that’s a good idea . ❜ a laugh fell shortly after , fingers flexing out of nervousness beneath the table before he’s leaning forward to rest his elbows on the edge . ❛ you’re not about to ask me that list of 50 questions to make someone fall in love with you , right ? i didn’t study for those ones . ❜ his jokes come easy , smile playing at the edge of his lips as kels tried to lighten the air as much as possible .

When her mind was put to something there was little anyone could do to change it. So hearing that he thought that frozen waffles were as good as the real thing had lingered in the back of her head for weeks. Lucky for him she had been distracted with matters that didn’t involve him and Kels could escape for a bit. But not now! Now she was going to prove her thesis to him once and for all. “Yes, I brought a waffle maker. How else would I make waffles without one?” Head tilted in confusion at the very obvious statement made. “I could put blueberries or chocolate chips in them! Like pancakes with stuff in them! I brought all the stuff so you don’t even have to lift a finger.” As long as he didn’t mind her turning his kitchen into an explosion in the process.
knows he should have left the door vacant , should have pretended to be knocked the fuck out in his bed so that he could avoid this inevitable day of reckoning . yes , he was that dramatic . but if freya could be dramatic , then so could kels . such a super philosophy only worked within the walls of his own mind , but he still answered the door , didn’t he ? “ i know you didn’t bring a waffle maker here just to prove a point . ” door is shut as she enters , urge to roll his eyes present as ever while kels lifts a hand to run through his hair briefly . “ just the regular kind . what other kinds are there ? ”

One day she would stop giving in to the back and forth between them. Just when she thought she had escaped it, Luca managed to worm his way right back in. Dancing wouldn’t hurt, she promised herself, as long as she didn’t let him convince her to go home with him everything else could be managed later. She could put herself back together after this. “Did you really?” Her own words uttered in disbelief, body melting against his own as they fell into their own little world. " I missed you , too. "
he tried to hide the exorbitant grin that had taken over his face , but absolutely failed . he really hadn't expected emilia to say yes . and for once he was going to give into himself and let it happen . he'd pretend for one night that he and emilia existed in a world where they could be together . he took her hand and brought her out to the dance floor with him , bringing her in close to dance with . " i've missed you . " he whispered to her , letting the alcohol cloud his better judgement .

Having lost Maiya in the crowd to a pretty girl that turned the heiress’s head, Lila was so pleased to find Oliver hanging around. Even though their relationship was strained at first, it didn’t take long for him to become like the older brother she had always wanted. Despite the groan escaping her as he tried to cover up her outfit. “Come on, Ollie, this is tame compared to my usual fits. Also, we are taking tequila shots, you’re not pussying out on me now.” Drunken giggles erupted from her lips at the mention of the other half, confirming his own suspicions without verbal confirmation.
" lila ! " he was always joyous to see one of his closest friends , another little sister type to him . that was until he realised just what state she was in , arm wrapped around her , he brought her closer to his side , reaching down to pull her skirt down to protect her modesty . deciding that wasn't enough , he pulled his jacket off to wrap it around her . " shots of water , sure . " he told her . " did maiya bring you here by any chance ? " he asked . the two girls would be the death of him .

If she had been in a better mental state upon walking into that bar she would have turned around the moment Arya approached her. There was little to no reason she had wanted to sleep that woman ever again. At least the shots fired back and forth were helping her forget the more hurtful things being thrown her way right now. “And yet here you are, offended that I don’t care if you speak to me again. How sad is it to be low status around here? Haven’t seen your designs in a show in a while. Don’t worry, if you want the clout again all you have to do is ask.” Not that Freya was even sure of that. She made it her mission in life to avoid anything that had to do with her. “Please, you can pretend all you want that I was a shitty girlfriend who did nothing but drag down your independence but you can’t hide the fact that the one thing we both know I’m good at is between the sheets. That's one thing I get no complaints about."
attitude was arya's thing . that and just messing with people for fun . if you were in her inner circle , she was sweet as pie . but anyone outside of it was free game . it probably wasn't fair to fuck with freya . she was the one who'd royally fucked the relationship and freya over in the first place . but arya had never coped well with guilt . it made her worse if that was even possible . " oh cute honey , that you think i was the one who'd lost anything with the breakup . who left who again ? " low blow and she knew it , but she said her words to sting . " i wouldn't trust your pointers ... they couldn't keep me around could they ? " another low blow . freya had once been part of arya's inner circle . she had been sweet with her then . and really nothing should've changed . after all it was all arya's own doing that she wasn't part of that anymore .

“I’m sorry!” Maggie whined, fully prepared to pay the piper for being a bad friend so far. It wasn’t that she meant to not see it, she just hadn’t much time to do anything. It was a bad excuse but the only one Maggie could offer at this time. “I’ll buy you all the cream sodas. Then I will get to hear your ‘dope’ singing as you so delicately put it.” Relieved to see that her friend wasn’t upset with her, Maggie made a mental note to go watch it as soon as she had the time open up. “I know, I know, it’s already guaranteed to be published but not that it’ll be a hit. But I won’t dwell on that right now. Tell me what’s been up with you!”
" i will be incredibly mad and it'll take a cream soda to cheer me up again . " she told her , not a real ounce of anger in her voice . it'd take something very serious and drastic for amelia to ever really be mad at maggie . missing a movie wasn't something she'd fault her for . " more than anything though , i'll feel sorry for your ears and them not having been blessed by my dope ass singing . " she frowned . " mags are you kidding ? you're absolutely gonna get published and you're gonna be incredible too . " she told her with absolutely no doubt at all that it was gonna happen . " i'd love a snippet , absolutely ! and i cannot wait to read the whole thing when it finally is published ! "

“Hey, we all know our own crafts. There’s nothing wrong with that. Plus, I could always use a little more cinema culture in my life,” Teddy assured him, not wanting the other man to feel bad about it. It would be like him going on and on about different games he liked to play – a trait he was sure he possessed but had yet to fully expose to the man before him. “Yeah we can do that. Gimme your phone.” Always down to have someone else to hang with, feeling lonely ever since Ronan moved out and he was redoing the guest room into a filming studio, it would help to have someone to help keep him sane during the process.
nico blushed slightly at that . " yeah , if i ever am dominating control of the movies please just tell me off . i never mean to i'm just so passionate about it . " he would always and forever feel like the av geek . even if he was a multi - award winning director now . " no they'll get the hint , they just like to be assholes sometimes . " his friends were the absolute opposite of him . " do you wanna exchange numbers ? you know ... just so it doesn't all have to go through our agents anymore ? "

Part of Maggie wasn’t surprised by Oliver coming up to speak to her, knowing that it had never been in his nature to be cruel. At least, she hadn’t thought so before things ended with them. It was part of the reason she had been drawn to him in the first place. So when she allowed herself to be led away from the crowds, Maggie’s entire body relaxed, only briefly, before she put back up her guard around him. Magpie, the nickname struck a chord within her that she hadn’t realized was still there and her lips pursed as she calculated a reply to him. “Yeah, within the next couple of months it should be published. I’m getting ready to send in the final edits. I took a night off for this event – my agent insisted and it was one I could stomach.” Hands folded in front of her as a barrier, Maggie reasoned with herself that they were being civil and that was something she could manage. Yet, without warning, the words slipped from her lips that she had been wondering about since he walked up to her. “I’m not going to lie, Oliver, I’m a little confused as to why you wanted to speak with me at all.”
oliver knew this was all his fault . but he also knew that he'd rather her hate him and be alive than to love him and die for it . she deserved so much better than he could give her . so he'd forever have to sit back and let her go . he'd simply decided he wasn't meant for love or any real happiness . instead he'd help the people around him that he cared about find their own happiness . " thank you . " he said with a small nod of his head . resisting the urge to reach out and take her hand , provide her with the explanation she deserved , the truth . no more secrets . that would be the dream . but he couldn't . " what ? wow , magpie that's amazing i'm so happy for you ! when are you gonna publish it ? " he asked , old nickname falling past his lips without permission , a habit that was hard to break . he wanted to give her a tight cuddle , and so much more that he'd given up any rights to the day he'd walked away . " you deserve the best , i'm so glad you've done it . i'll still be the first to buy a copy . like i promised . "

His relationship with Dahlia was not one he would necessarily call a happy one. She often spent her time making his life as complicated as possible, so when he asked her if she wanted to be in a stream he was surprised that she showed. Maybe there was more to her than he originally anticipated. “You may have found something better to do. I wouldn’t have blamed you,” he muttered more to himself than to answer her question. Shrugging it away, Teddy moved through the room until he got to the bar. “I’ll at least let you drink so you can have some fun with it. I do appreciate you helping me out.” A moment of sincerity leaving him as he spoke. He would deny he ever was nice if she mentioned it to someone else.
not what she'd planned to be entertaining herself with today , but she couldn't exactly say no. after all , it was her turn to deliver on a favour he's asking for , it's bypassed her chance every other time. she's sure he's keeping a tally somewhere. she didn't like she was his final option , something she'd pick apart later on in the day , possibly when the camera was rolling. " i'm offended that you thought i wasn't coming , what kind of monster do you think i am ? " she's going to need a large glass of wine to tolerate this session , but she wouldn't disappoint him last minute. " you're already giving me a headache , we can discuss the terms of service later. remind me what i'm supposed to do ? " she's certainly someone to keep her cards to her chest , he wouldn't get to know the plans she'd develop for his returning favour just yet.

It seemed like all Gideon was doing as of late was distracting his female friends from the trauma that seemed to be blooming around every corner. It had become a full time gig as far as he was concerned. Distracting Flo came as naturally as dancing with her and his topic for the day was their blasted coach. At least torturing Zoya would bring a smile to her face. “I think i'm traumatized by the idea that she may have a life other than looming in a corner contemplating our demise.” An exaggerated shudder following his statement before he took a bite of his burrito. “I do think we could frame her though, it should be pretty easy. I’ve seen her enter her phone passcode.”
stretched onto tip toes to reach the opening of the food truck , she's able to grab her own order without drawing much attention from other customers , laminated brow perks up to respond to her dancer partner's inquisition. " what kind of petty crime ? it's gotta be believable , do you think she'd have any albis ? surely , she doesn't run in big circles or any for that matter. " look of distaste touches features , their coach was the last person either of them would likely save from a burning building at this point. mind had been elsewhere lately but she owed it to gideon to attempt at engaging in a conversation that's not about her life falling apart.

While he had known Flo in passing for ages, since her relationship with his aunt, he had never anticipated her reaching out to speak with him. They may have had people in common, it wasn’t enough for Micah to truly connect to her in a way that warranted a coffee exchange. “Uh, okay, I can just call you Flo? Florence seems too formal.” At least he assumed so, since she named about three different ways to refer to her. He let her continue to get out what she needed to, realizing that the hit was likely connected to his own DNA being in the system from the time period that he had been searching for his nameless father. “Oh god, please tell me you’re not related to us on our mom’s side. I don’t want to deal with the amount of family therapy Issy is going to have to go through if that’s the case.”
this was stupid , she'd hit a quarter life crisis for certain , why'd it taken so long to reveal mother's character was never altered after the loss of pete ? she'd always been some kind of monster. the two were somewhat strangers , mutually connected through other parties such as her boyfriend and his aunt. aware of one another's existence but not knowing the person behind many facades. " uh , yeah. flo , florence , flossie , whatever really. " never had she'd experience this level of anxiety , certain she was about to come across insane. " you might have to bare with me , it's going to sound crazy and i'm still wrapping my own head around it all. . . but my brother , dylan , made us do a dna test together for fun and your name came up as a relation in my results. " scenic route for context setting.

“I can be stern when I need to be,” Yasmin’s lips forming a pout at the very thought. It wasn’t something that came often, her current mindset was to enjoy life as it came to her and not think about all the terrible things that had happened to her. “And I will be for my sister. She needs protecting, after all.” Yasmin had always been the baby of the family, Gaia the closest to her in age, but recently it felt as though she had been aged a decade in the last year and everything inside of her just wanted to go back to normal. “I am only agreeing because you mentioned street tacos,” head tilted back so she could down the rest of her drink before standing and waiting for him. “Do we even have a food truck nearby?”
the absence of yasmin hit hard for many individuals, including himself, despite them not being as close prior to as they are now. yasmin was always an individual that elijah found themselves protective over, wanting to make sure she felt safe and secure when out and having fun — willing to stand in a corner and forego his own adventures for the night to make sure she got into a safe vehicle and was in her own bed by the time sunrise hit. “ might need the voice memo, your stern voice gives me the fuckin’ chills. ” not a total lie, both levy women caused elijah to second guess many of their choices, making him apologize without a moment of hesitation if provided a specific look. “ okay — so maybe not here, but if you finish that drink, we could go get some street tacos and not have to listen to the horrific karaoke they’re setting up. ”

Knowing there was little they could do to support her, Felix figured his job could be to help Elijah come up with a way to support her through this. His attention dedicated to listening to him explain, only taking his gaze away to take a sip of his drink. “Okay, so she started out just skipping words and then went fully mute? That’s gotta be a mental block somewhere, right?” But what would be big enough to cause it. “She didn’t even go mute when she thought Yasmin was, ya know, so it’s gotta be really bad to fully cause her to shut down.” He did like to hear that she wasn’t back to using drugs. That was progress. “Maybe she needs to talk to someone, like a professional.”
tongue darts out to coat their lips, attempting to keep a calm demeanor rather than allowing every atom of fear and anxiety take hold. despite neither of the two having a closely bonded friendship to one another, there is a common denominator that provides elijah with some sense of safety and assurance that there would be help without judgment. “ at all. ” the silence that filled their apartment was enough to drive them mad, cause him to take endless walks to just fill the ringing in their ears, but never prod into the business of his girlfriend. clearly suffering from a trauma large enough to impale her ability to explain herself, he’s thankful she’s been home and in bed, rather than rushing out to drink and get stoned as previous weeks had been dedicated to. “ weeks? going close to a month, i think? it wasn’t always silence, she would stutter and get out short answers but now it’s just — it’s nothing. ” hands grip onto each other, resting on his lap where a single leg continues to bounce. “ i — is that too much? i don’t think she’s doing anything dangerous, i just — fuck man. something happened but i can’t get through to her to talk to me. ”

He knew that Elena had a lot on her mind, he didn’t blame her for that. Even with her roommate having been in a crash, she had been seemingly off, no matter how much she tried to reassure him that she was alright. He wasn’t her keeper, Elias refused to baby her when she didn’t want to talk to him about it. If she needed to, he was here and Elena had to know that. It was how their worlds worked. His reason for coming here was all for his own reasons but she seemed more irritable than usual. “Fine, go back to sleep. I’ll just head back to the studio.” He wasn't going to beg her to talk to him.
eyes narrow towards her twin, watching him with an intensity that only proved she was weighing the reasoning behind the drop - in visit. she’d never admit to her internal struggles, refusal to be seen as anything close to vulnerable, even towards the individual she shared a womb with. “ so lucky. ” sarcasm is laced heavily in the two words, slowly taking a sip of her coffee before taking in a deep breath. “ why do you need a twin day? and why do you need it so fuckin’ early? you couldn’t have come for like … a late lunch? ”
