"How much did you drink this time."

Smirking, Chuuya strolls closer, reaching out to grab a lock of Kunikida's hair and twirl it around their finger. "Doesn't matter."

"Your mouth and teeth are red."

"Paying close attention to my lips, are we?"

Pink dusts Kunikida's cheekbones, but he sighs. "Chuuya...."

"Doesn't matter," he repeats, voice dipping into irritation. They lean close, standing on their toes and pressing his chest against Kunikida's. "You're just as pretty either way."

A breath catches in Kunikida's throat. Chuuya gets like this sometimes, drunk or not, where they want to tease him until he combusts. But Kunikida has thought of a countermeasure. He grips both of Chuuya's hips and leans in close to their ear.

"I can think of a few ways to sober you up, pretty boy."

Chuuya's face explodes with red and they still, only letting something akin to a whimper escape their lips when Kunikida dips down and puts his lips to their pulse.

Listen. Beloveds. I say this gently. But you have got to stop using the "oh yeah? you think it's fine to ship this? trying telling your family members and coworkers about your ship and see how they react 😤" argument in your shipping discourse.

You do realise that to most normies who have never been in fandom, all shipping is deranged behaviour, right? You know this, right?? You do know that even if your ship is the most wholesome and unproblematic thing possible, if you go up to your Great Auntie Barbara or Gary From I.T. or whoever and are like "oh yeah one of my main hobbies? going online every single day without fail and talking to a bunch of strangers about how much these same two fictional characters should kiss. yeah I spend HOURS of my free time drawing them kissing and writing them kissing and editing footage of the show to appear more romantic too", there's a strong chance they are going to think you are unbelievably embarrassingly cringe at best and utterly insane and worth avoiding from now on at worst, right????

Please. Please don't encourage impressionable teens and young adults to think it's okay to bring up any fandom shit at the dinner table or in the staffroom unprompted without the danger of having real social repercussions. Please my loves you are stressing me out. Please promise me you don't do this. Oh baby no.

“Wait… you’re in love with me…?” Atsushi said, to which Lucy simply blinked a few times… at first, because she vehemently slammed the palms of her hands on the table shortly after.

“Fucking finally!!!” She answered, clearly exasperated but also with a smile forming on her face. “I– wait.” Instead of continuing right away, Lucy rushed to the cafe’s back room, dragging him by the arm while at it even when it wasn’t technically allowed. Though the owner probably wouldn’t mind. He hoped. 

And anyway, it wasn’t like they were going to last too much time there, for she pulled them both inside Anne’s room in a heartbeat.

“About time you realized, sheesh!” Her cheeks were turning a very obvious shade of red, which almost resembled her hair… and Atsushi couldn’t see his own, but judging by the way his whole face burned it was easy to guess they both matched.

“I– I’m sorry I didn’t realize sooner.” He managed to say, after a very much needed bunch of seconds, to gather the courage to say not only that but what was coming next. “It’s mutual, by the way.”

Lucy’s expression instantly softened, being overcome by surprise first and bliss second.

“Took you a while, kitty.” And then, she dragged him back again, this time to pull him closer and lock their lips together in a kiss.

dazai & ranpo + “count me in”

“Soooo…”

“Count me in, obvi.”

Right after that exchange, and with the same shit-eating grin on both their faces, Dazai and Ranpo high-fived each other. Then, plans apparently set in motion, they started looking something up using Ranpo’s laptop.

“What are they doing?” Sigma inquired in a whisper, making Kenji instantly turn his head towards them. “If I can ask and you know, of course.”

“Huh…” Kenji’s first answer was simply shrugging. “I’m not sure, ‘cause no one knows when it’s Dazai-san and Ranpo-san. Well, maybe Yosano-sensei has some info, but there’s also a chance she doesn’t.” Then there came another shrug. “Still, since there’s no big case to take care of right now… maybe they’re already plotting their strategy for Halloween?”

“What happens on Halloween, and why are they preparing stuff right now when there’s still over half a year to go?” Was Sigma’s next question, and Yosano’s giggle could be heard as she exited the infirmary and joined them all at the main office room.

“Oh, you don’t know yet?”

One trope I really dislike in love stories (mostly common to fanfic and romance novels but it can be found elsewhere) is when the author goes out of their way to (a) establish that a protagonist had absolutely no significant positive feelings for their previous sexual/romantic partners and (b) presents this chiefly as proof that the other protagonist is uniquely Worthy and that the main romance is True Love. This is a pretty specific scenario; I’m not talking about, say, the hero who has no romantic or sexual experience, or the heroine who married young and her husband was shitty in a specific way, or the protagonist who enjoyed their past relationships but they never totally clicked. I’m talking about “the hero has slept with so, so many women, but don’t worry! He never felt so much as slight fondness for them or admired any of their non-physical qualities. He might as well have been using a blow-up doll every time.” Or “the heroine has only ever loved the hero. She has never looked upon another man with lust in her heart. If she ever dated anyone else, she never felt affection or respect or admiration for him. This is proof of true love, not the result of dating only shitty guys or maybe being kind of a tool.” I promise, it’s not going to ruin a romance if the hero is like “my ex-girlfriend was a good person” or the heroine is like “I enjoyed having sex with the guy I dated for five years.”

my beloveds.

Kunikida adores his partners, really. He would do anything for them, has done everything for them. His rigid schedule has been burned to ashes by Dazai and their whims. Those ashes have been stomped into the ground by Chuuya and his grand gestures of affection. The ideal woman Kunikida was searching for is a lost memory to the hesitant touches of two scarred men who have to be reminded of their humanity time and time again. But Kunikida isn't complaining. He loves them, and he knows that they both love him, too. The three of them have built a foundation here and Kunikida wouldn't have it any other way. Except-- Except-- "You piece of shit!" There's a cackle, and then a splat, and then a shriek. "Chuuya!" "What?" Chuuya's voice taunts. "You can dish it but can't take it? Typical." It continues this way for about three minutes before Kunikida lets out a frustrated sigh and walks into the kitchen. To say it's a mess is an understatement. To say that Kunikida's partners are childish is generous. "Hey--" Something flies and hits Kunikida in the face. "Oh shit." "Chuuya did it!" "Shut the fuck up!" "Sit down," Kunikida says. Immediately, Chuuya emerges from around the corner. He slumps into a chair at the table, avoiding Kunikida's eyes. Food plasters his body, but the look of shame on his face can't be missed. It almost makes Kunikida smile. Almost. "Osamu, you too." "Kuni, listen--" "Shut the hell up." Dazai purses their lips and sits next to Chuuya, but they look at Kunikida dead on, amused. "I'll be back in forty minutes with dinner. If this isn't cleaned up by then, there will be no cuddles and we will all sleep in separate rooms tonight. Got it?" The threat seems to work, at least. Chuuya looks almost panicked, and even Dazai's mirth drops into something akin to horror. Both of them start to say something at the same time, but Kunikida turns away, only stopping at the door to say, "Time's ticking." Kunikida adores his partners, really, but sometimes he has to leave before he murders them both.

anyway, these 5 i think they'd be pretty chill, both separatedly and their interactions with each other, so it'd be a delight. and if or when they get on online fights it'd be for a good reason/defenting someone, so...
