Be my favourite
Last episode taught me that future was already written. It's how you execute it. Piseang was meant to go back in time and that's why when he turned the crystal ball first, it didn't work. Kawi was supposed to get rid of poverty and rather than being the musician, he's got a partner who is rich (I don't mean it with negative tone).
So how did you guys like this episode?
I feel this is the first Thai series which I didn't drop at episode 7/8 only to finish it just for the heck of it. The curse has been lifted y'all!
Good series, with simple sci fi plot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to watch BL series. Hopefully, it's gaining popularity and wins some legitimate award in the BL industry/Thai media. We need writers like these, cast like them and screenplay like this in the BL space.

The only thing that I absolutely love about wedding plan the series is The McDonald's sponsorship!
Yes, we need more visible brands supporting the community. Fashion brands are yes okay but McDonald's is like available in every corner of the street and them supporting queer shows is legit a good moving. It looks like the average BL story and the actors are doing fine. But I do look forward to next episodes. Hopefully, neua is not a trauma character that p'mame usually shows.

Be my favourite episode 8
"be my favourite" this title is literally you asking the show to be your favourite and episode 8 proves it! The fact that this single episode could do the storytelling and explain the plot of the series is mind-blowing.
It would show you the importance of Ally ship especially in the LGBT community. No I'm not talking about broader group that obviously exist and is needed but I'm talking about the one scene where Piseang is heartbroken because his only Ally doesn't want to be seen publically even though they are best friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It shows how friendships break if you don't nurture it. Piseang literally left kawi twice in the future timeline.
It makes you feel the vulnerability of confessing to someone you have true feelings for. Poor boy Kawi was on the verge of crying at the "No" response.
Tumblr media
It shows how sometimes it's okay to not think about the future and be thankful for the present. Kawi finally accepted his father's demise.
My personal favourite - If you read between the lines, the show quietly hints that maybe we are living in someone's simulation. This show is literally Kawi's simulation. He knows well and would take one step at a time to have a successful future but at the same time he's living in the present and making himself a happy/healthy future. Piseang is also a kind of a member in his simulation who brings the love part of his future. I wonder if the rich people today are actual simulators of real world?
Anyways, let's not get into the sci fi part. I just wanted to say that if someone has not started the show and ends up watching episode 8, they would literally get the plot within an hour. Having said that, this series is so beautifully and simplistically written that it's worth to watch all episodes and I'm really excited to see the remaining ones. Hope there's no more heavy hearted stuff 🤞

Why did they sensor it? 😭
It's so beautiful and so personal...
The fact that Du plessis is sharing such raw behind the scenes with us is so endearing. That man has studied the market not only for BL but also from storytelling to engaging the fans. There are very few shows that make a mark and are talked about for years, but this one sure is. I'm still salty that this was not put on Netflix and I have hope that maybe they do so in future. If not, I would want this series to win some recognition through film festival/award. Jisub and Ohjun are so damn professional man! I really have not seen them being shipped by anyone and as it should be so that they're comfortable filming "the eighth sense" next project soon. Saw their clip of them attending some event(film festival?), And oh man our Ohjun looks like a baby. Obviously, he's a newbie but he's being prepared for bigger events to show up. Jisub? I don't know man, did he complete his military service? I hope so. I want to watch more and more of him.

Exactly, I think this is what matters. Probably this would how the delusion about soulmates would be handled by the show or at least these characters.
And maybe lomform would figure out the one for him?
I was prepared for the Lomfon drama, instead we got a bittersweet backstory. The way the whole soul mate rain thing doesn’t even matter for Patts and Tai.

Be my favorite has got me. I’m down the rabbit hole as it were. I didn’t mean to be here, I fell and I refuse to get out of said hole.
Also….. Is this the first time I am seeing a characters growth and story through self realisation without the love interest?
Like Peesaang went on this journey from seeing the two men kissing in the club, going to the bar, going to see Max, and really taking the time with his feelings. I loved it!!!!!!
Not the ‘ I don’t like men, I just like you’ like….. A to the Men (amen) am I right?!
I'm going to be honest with myself - I've been in this hole since 2021. The initial 2021 trailer (with MIKE!) told me Be My Favorite was either gonna be a mess or a masterpiece, but I prayed it wouldn't be mediocre, so I am THRILLED that My Strange and Obnoxious Fixation™ has paid off. If the second half hurts us, y'all are going to witness a full grown adult have a meltdown on your dash that could rival one of those badass kids in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, but, so far, IT'S A WIN for me!
Tumblr media
And the biggest reason is because of the characters. I am truly invested in JittiRain's evolution here because this is not her norm. I was very prepared for miscommunication, manipulation, and misdeeds, but instead we are getting MAGIC!
Tumblr media
I'm sure other shows have done the self-realization journey without it being directly tied to the love interest, but what I'm liking about it here is it just isn't Pisaeng. Usually, the dynamic is one of the leads is pretty solid while the other has to find his way, but both of these guys are figuring it out, and we get to see that evolution. In fact, all the characters are working through their issues.
I read a few posts today of people stating they are feeling better about Kawi now after he showed growth from his initial behavior in the first few episodes. Same with Not. I still dislike that little jerk, but him sending a message to Kawi wishing him good luck was nice to see after he roasted Kawi for trying to find a talent.
Also, Kawi still helped Pisaeng on this journey of self-discovery, but Pisaeng didn't go on this journey to get Kawi. Kawi wasn't treated like the pot of gold at the end of the queer rainbow. Kawi questioned Pisaeng in episode four. He asked Pisaeng why he hadn't been direct about his feelings with Pear. Kawi asked Pisaeng what he was doing when he went in for the kiss. He told Pisaeng to be honest, with himself.
Tumblr media
Pisaeng, a guy who believed he was being honest and open, having his actions questioned made him haul ass out of there. Kawi jump-started that reflection.
Tumblr media
But Pisaeng is honest and open. He spoke to Pear the next day. He saw the men kissing, and although hesitant, he went to that gay bar. He spoke to Max and decided to confess to Kawi. Then, he returned to the bar.
Tumblr media
I hope, and feel, that we are getting the same story from Kawi. He hasn't been honest with himself for a long time, and this statement isn't about queerness. This is about his life in general. However, he doesn't react the same way as Pisaeng. Kawi needs more support. He needs a bigger push. He needs people to guide him. Because for over a decade, Kawi has had nobody and feels like he has nothing.
Pisaeng has known something was wrong with what others believed to be his perfect life, so he was quick to adjust. Kawi has dreamed about what he believed would be his perfect life for at least twelve years, so he is very reluctant to reevaluate the choices he believes will get him that perfect life.
Kawi is doing everything under the guise of getting Pear and more money, but just like Pisaeng, he will have to be honest with himself and realize he is doing all of this because he is extremely lonely. Kawi doesn't need to get laid and get paid; he needs friends.
Both Pisaeng and Kawi need a friend.
And that's what I love about this. You're right! We aren't seeing a story of growth that involves the love interest.
Instead we are seeing stories about change that involve friends.
Tumblr media
Because if we are being honest with ourselves, we all need a little help from our friends.

But I can't ignore the height similarity 😂
Yes this universe time traveling functionality works different that's why I said alternative universe. I also don't think "be my favourite" writers would make it so complicated tho. I guess my Marvel heart speaks up once in a while.

House of stars episode 8
I somehow reached this stage and my last post about the accident theory was right, I guess?
No I'm still not a fan of the show! I need GunxPizza romance on the screen and I guess it's never happening. I did sneak into the tag and read a theory that So/Zo has entered the house to seek revenge, I'm inclined to this theory. The problem statement is still same as per my last post above as well as my take on the execution of the show. The actors seem emotionless when interacting with one another except maybe that gay awakening couple 😅
Anyways, let's meet again after I finish watching the show and we have story development.

For the love of "the eighth sense"
Can we just appreciate the screenplay for showing the wrist watch on Jihyun time and again? I mean he comes from the country side and had lived a very simple life, college is the most happening thing for many with that lifestyle. As far as I remember that watch significance is not explained in the show. But it is important!
It could be as simple as Jihyun having a likability towards watches in general and this is something he bought for himself before coming to the city? Or bought it with the first part time salary?
It could be a gift from family or friend from the country side?
Or it could be the only watch he bought as a teenager and still treasures it?
Who knows?
But I like the fact that this watch caught my eye so many times, maybe because I like watches. Not obsessed with them but I like them. Since, everyone is already appreciating the show so much and the recent deleted scene was released, I was wondering what to write and ended up writing about the watch. Silly me😅

Thank you if you read this ❤️
And yes hopefully season 2 or a due movie soon!

I know I will get cancelled for saying this but here it is.
Why are BL more famous than GL?
I know it's not a competition but from marketing perspective it would be easier to put money on a BL project than a GL one. It's not jealousy but I was thinking isn't this allowing more empowerment to only male artists as in actors? I don't know lately I have been feeling we're all going backwards in the generation, only difference is we have different catalyst. As queer woman, I don't have the answer to why I have literally binged so many BLs and zero GLs. The entertainment industry would be a male dominant one, I guess? This thought sometimes challenges my take on woman empowerment/feminism. Am I the only one with these thoughts?

Doesn't the pilot already give away the plot? Or does it have a sad ending ?

I think I like sad endings
Just finished "you make me dance" and I couldn't help but expect a sad ending. A couple days back it was "your eyes linger" and if I have to go back a little more, I might actually would have accepted the sad ending for "the eighth sense". The only thing I noticed is that all these shows are Korean and maybe because the plots of these stories seem so natural, a sad ending also could have justified these shows. Remember "fault in our stars"? Only difference is it's a hetero world story.
Obviously, queer stories deserves a happy ending too but I guess we do have enough happy ending stories in the recent past.
No hear me out!
Your eyes linger season 1 should have had a sad ending with a second season as happy ending. Read more here.
As we're anyway expecting a season 2 for the eighth sense, I wouldn't have mind a sad ending for season 1.
You make me dance should have had the justified sad ending where no character dies but part ways but somehow the red thread theory stays alive. I don't know but a good writer could justify a sad ending.
I'm going to search for sad ending BL shows, hopefully they are not too dramatic like "the effect" of Thailand.

Where your eyes linger
I'm unable to pull up discussions regarding this show so making this post.
First of all, I realised Kang Kook guy is the one from "my sweet dear" 😅 I mean if we didn't have the post credit scene of Tae joo and Kang Kook reunion, "my sweet dear" could be a great sequence to "where your eyes linger" in a parallel universe of finding second love. Anyways, let's leave fan fiction tropes.
Now second of all, why isn't this show talked about so much? Great storyline between two people (angst), chemistry could be felt within the first few seconds of the main leads sharing screen space and the fact that this was no supernatural concept involved in the early years of Korea BL dramas. Also, to the dead fish kiss cat callers, this one had pretty decent kiss. Honestly, it was not even required. Just make them stare at each other, they have chemistry!
IT'S CALLED "WHERE YOUR EYES LINGER" FOR A REASON.
It's a happy ending but I kinda hoped for a sad ending here. Maybe, a sequel could have been made to give it a happy ending. Story lines where lovers meet after years like "to my star", "our dating sim" could have suited "where your eyes linger". Also, the past plot was not explained. How did Kang Kook end up with TB group guy and ended up being his son's body guard? It looked like the dad kinda knew his son's feelings but was a stigma dad? How did the kids break the ice 15 years ago and the mother plot? LOT could have been explained with a season 2, not sure if there exists a manhwa or something about this. Recommend me please.
So many thoughts, definitely the show has an impact on me. The background music? Damn, top class! My life depends on music and shows like these are where some good music exist. The actors looked fine. I need more BL from these makers tho. Hopefully, the BL industry grows up in Korea cuz they know how to tell a story within 15 minutes and I can finish the series in one sitting.
