Ali had new old stock of Japanese (or are they Chinese?) Cardcaptor Sakura dolls for pretty cheap so I bought one but the box is crushed and it almost looks like she was out of the box at some point because there’s pilling on her jumper. 🤔 Anyway I’m glad to add her to my CCS collection.

So I saw a post on those new Defa Lucy dolls on Temu and got myself one. The face mold is gorgeous, and I love the shimmer around her eyes.
The box doesn’t feature much, just the word BEAUTY and the words MIX AND MATCH. I’m not sure what exactly you’re supposed to “mix and match”, maybe their fashions? The only other feature of the box is the doll’s concept art, which I wish they’d paid more attention to in terms of detail. Her concept art features pink fishnets and black and white sneakers, while the doll lacks fishnets and has plain white sneakers. The necklace could also have been better detailed.
Lastly, the doll itself looks to be of decent quality, though without removing her from the box it’s hard to say for sure. (I don’t think I’ll be removing her from the box.) She’s jointed at the wrists, elbows, shoulders, legs, and knees and possibly the waist, which is impressive.
Overall at a $15 price point she’s about what you’d expect. As a collector I’m most drawn in by the face mold, faceup, and funky hair. The doll is also well articulated and can hold fun poses. I’d recommend her.

Well it's been a while but I finally finished my Data doll. He's only the second human doll I've ever made and I'm really happy with how he turned out! He took weeks to make especially with finals but I'm so glad I'm able to share him now!
He's also the first rerooting job I did and man did that take days in itself. I sculpted his distinctive nose from air dry clay and not to brag but it blends seamlessly into the face!

mushroom twins, mushroom twins, whatever tea could they be spilling?
the purple shroom is the absolute first prototype of this sculpt and still has some joint issues, while the red one is a low-quality print of the fixed, final version. looking forward to printing this one in high quality for the first time.
i painted them as a bit of a self-care exercise after working on the computer too much and needing to touch if not grass, at least a physical paint brush.

Look who arrived!
Larvie was just way too up my alley to pass on, and she's so adorable!
I went for the brunette version, who has more pink skin than the fleshier color of the blonde version. She's made of a super hard vinyl, it reminds me of the silkstone plastic, she even smelled like a silkstone out of the box (if you've opened a silkstone box, you know the smell I'm speaking of. If you haven't, think of it like new car smell), though I don't think it's the exact same thing.
She's held in with ribbons, so she was very easy to remove, and would be very easy to put back in if I wanted.
She's such a nice, high quality, little collectible and I'm glad to have her.
