Fates was so right making guard naginata. Woe, +5 def/res be upon ye. And since it's a pretty rare to get and isn't that powerful you can have whole ass builds changed around this. Same with the illusory yumi, it's an insane resistance boost but doesn't have that much hitting power so you gotta make choices. Adventurer Camilla with that bow will never know magical damage ever again

oh and fun fact: the bow knight animations are made with the idea of the character having an actual arrow. But the Fujin Yumi manifests arrows from thin air, so Takumi is just waving nothing around, putting nothing back in the quiver, he looks dumb as fuck but he activates Sol every other attack and has point blank so he can never die

I personally often go for Marianne because dancer let her use magic and boosting her charisma is much easier than boosting her strength: as a result, with her good speed, sword prowess and sword evasion, she can be a decent dodgetank but also hit hard with sword dance which uses less durability than soul blade. She ends up being able to heal when needed, dance when needed, but also be a good bait and deal significant damage that she wouldn't be able to deal with a sword unless she just used up all the durability in one map. I'll admit I tend to reclass my dancers or not use them so I'm probably an outlier in making my dancing Marianne a jack of all trades offense focused unit though
