My Final Project Business Plan Summary
The final class was the capstone for the whole program because it showed me how to remain focused on polishing up a great business plan that would be generally accepted by potential investors if the case ever arises.
One of the key points I learned from this class was organization. Starting from the title page of a business plan right down to the financials of how to be clear on what you need, be it funding, all contribute to the success of your business plan knowing that you’re confident about it and presentable enough for a positive reaction.
In the course, we covered areas such job searches and resume approach knowing that, to impress an employer, you may need to set up a layout and cover letter that brings up your skills to par with their expectations.
Job sites were also shown to us so that we can have variety in application processes. One tip we were given that stood out was that your social media presence should be clean and professional because these days, potential employers are fond of going through your social media sites to have an insight about you before considering you as a potential candidate for the job.
Using the executive summary and business plan development that was learned in the previous class, it all sums up to say that, this class created an opportunity to understand the nitty-gritty bits and pieces on how to effectively pitch your business plan using more graphics than text. This is encouraged because it brings out your confidence and professionalism to the enlightenment of the addressed listener. This is encouraged by having a solid elevator pitch.
In totality, this course encourages skill improvement learned throughout the months which are truncated right down to company snapshots that create business opportunities successful.

My Insight on Business Plan Development
My original goal for this course was to learn how to turn an idea into a franchise, a business, a profit, a benefit, and most importantly, an asset that brings back good tidings, both in kind and financially. I didn’t know how it would start neither did I have a clue on how it would end but I knew that the knowledge acquired would make me ten times better than when I stepped through the door, for the first time. I wanted to learn how a business plan is made and how profit is developed within the first 3 years of a business despite losses, investment plans or hands-on experience that could make or break you, in the process.
My goals were met and overly achieved because I gained major key information on how to search on the web for specific industry tools that could help me understand the business I’m trying to get into. This goes way more into understanding technological advances, hierarchy positions, job descriptions, spreadsheets, background information for the business, when it comes to knowing if the structure of the organization would be a corporation or an LLC, amongst other great business models. The tax rates and decisions made for business venturing are also important because it affects the quality and productivity of the business handled.
My insight on how to know where to go for information both online and offline, how to set-up a business, how to calculate square foot buildings and land acquisition, understand demographics and target markets, amongst other great components on building confidence in your business, all made an impact in helping me make informed decisions on how to build connections with people, understand key roles in an organization, and how to deal with competition fairly. This helps me professionally and personally, ultimately.

My Media Publishing & Distribution Story
My original goal for this course was to learn different platforms that could be used to relay information understanding techniques that may be able to potentially result into effective turnover using multi-media avenues that could appeal to audiences.
Going into this class, Entertainment Media Publishing & Distribution, gave me hope and a long-lasting desire for the arts and techniques I could use, both personally and professionally, in a way that contributes entirely to return on investments and brand awareness, which is the most important. Why I would say that is simply because, distribution and publishing are the main key factors to deal with when it comes to gaining premium access to potential clients and consumers in the totality of a product or service, using mediums such as social media, digital marketing or traditional marketing.
Diving deeper into the discussion, music, television, film, books, and games all have entertainment value in our world today, which we can’t do without. Through the keen teachings and mind-opening discussion topics addressed in this course, I got to understand how manufacturers chain a command down to retailers with sub-divisions in between. Most importantly, learning the principal rule of thumb that, you cannot administer unsolicited material to any agent unless running through a code of conduct that is professional and established.
Applying these key traits to my daily lifestyle is the main reason why I am still hungry for success and knowledge and, going through this course has really helped me to achieve a hindsight of information that could be highly applicable to both my professional and personal negotiations and brand awareness. This has a back-end of vitality when it comes to looking at one’s career and the success of tools such as the above pointers, further meaning to explain that choosing the right publishers and distributors pivot the level of success of a creator.

Advanced Entertainment Law (Review)
Advanced Entertainment Law was intense for the reason being that, one should learn many routes on how to corner your opponent, or also, defend oneself accordingly. This is simply because contracts and agreements could be open-ended subconsciously, and this could lead you into a failed image approach, which was not intended in the first place. That means, without the course being taught to me, I would not have learned how to read into contracts and have an eagle’s eye of approach.
I have learned a lot about trademarking your brand, which is your logo, text, visual, routine or even idea. All these forms of media and symbolism contribute to your brand outcome and for this to reach effective heights, it must be followed to avoid legal litigations or lawsuits, thereof.
I cannot stretch any further without mentioning about contracts and patents. These are two key valued items of deep analysis and protection that a brand needs to take full control and care of, whether it may be an employment contract, waiver, non-compete agreement, non-disclosure agreement, utility patent, design patent, or even a plant patent. All these elements should be considered accordingly and know how to use them to your advantage.
There is also a reason to research because it could be flexible based on the notion that state registrations and federal registration procedures take different time frames to be completed. The fee too also differs, and this could be advantageous to the right of the owner of the patent, copyright, or trademark.
All in all, this class has shown me the way to make a mark in the industry, from a legal standpoint, hence giving me the courage to build agreements and negotiate with potential clients on the firm basis of understanding key components of applying value to intellectual property.

My Product and Artist Management Summary
What is a product? Who is an artist?
If you can tell one from the other, then you have what it takes to merge the two to build a strong foundation for you, the manager, the artist represented, and the bran, wholly.
The Product and Artist Management class shows exactly how to navigate problems and set defined and informed choices on how to work with people and be sensitive to market values and efforts.
Using data from Nielsen and IFPI gives the manager a wide scope of general understanding about the brand positioning enabling them to understand how to penetrate and narrowcast into their market using mediums of media platforms to communicate key information across and capitalize on them, accordingly. This, therefore, creates room for the artist to be more inclined into the product and generate income for all parties involved.
The qualitative input of this information will play a huge role in my career because I intend on building artists from the ground-up, and build my brand, equally, so that I may acquire a high status of influence and credibility which will ensure trust and loyalty to the brand, therefore, generate profit for my brand and my business.
This goes without saying that product and artist management is the key to success when balanced together to form an indomitable force on all platforms. Linking this point up with the simple fact that, having an artist that can write his or her own music is a bonus and blessing because this makes the artist more valuable to the label to the point where the artist would have the innate ability to pull crowds and gain massive credibility status that will grant access to endorsement deals, power, favor with clients, and most of all, to be loved by all, therefore, branding.

My Negotiation & Deal-Making Experience
Wow! What can I say? How can I describe this feeling? Well, what I can say for now is that Negotiation & Deal-Making has been made to be as practical, logical and habitual in our day-to-day lives. This is simply because, as you go along the journey of this course, the more you listen to key points and practice real-life case scenarios, the more you realize it’s beyond being in a negotiation hall, or a classroom, nonetheless.
From grasping concepts, developing emotions and strengthening skills in communication and deal-making occasions, you become more aware of your main objective whenever a conversation is being vocalized or not. This delves into the psychological mind frame of the individual you may or may not be getting in contact with simply because human beings always interact, regardless of the juxtaposition at hand.
Looking over the main objective of my class participation, I came to realize that, in the beginning, I wasn’t too confident with my expressions due to over-thinking about the other party’s emotional outcome leading to impeding thought processes which later could cost me. From learning, how to negotiate and mediate amongst people through class activities and Monopoly (to be precise), I have overcome doubts and reassured myself to be more effective in making firm decisions and meeting the other party’s needs or interests, whilst.
Professionally, using the key concepts of attribution, status and appreciation, I would be able to achieve more success because of the way I now know how to handle emotions and negotiations. Personally, it has also taught me how to collaborate with different people across the border and keep the primary objective as a priority for the success of the project or deal ahead.
One thing I came to realize at the end of this course, is that the process is always sweeter than the journey because, throughout the process, you learn more and achieve even more, in the end.

Digital Marketing Mastery Journal
First things first, without marketing, ideas would be just but a dream. In this EBMS program, there is a whole lot of grinding knowledge and insight to the path at which I have chosen to take regarding building my brand and career in the world of entertainment. My primary goal for this course is to come out wiser, stronger and more skilful to know what to do and what not to do in the designated aspects of achieving a desired goal for a product or service.
So far, I have learned a lot about digital marketing, narrowing down to the nitty-gritty of SEO, AdWords, channels for creating marketing success rates coining with conversion rates and social media campaigns, which all come together to form an indomitable force called prosperity. In my perspective, without the key values and key components to drive your paid landing pages or traditional marketing skills, your idea would be half-baked.
One takeaway from the Lynda course (Facebook Marketing: Advertising) was that being specific against being broad in sponsoring adverts online is highly essential because, in the long run, you have a budget set, tailored for the success of the business plan set ahead. Another takeaway was that, when you’re specifying your audience, you will have to add components such as interests, hobbies, lifestyles and related brands to support the objective for your ad. Lastly, the Lynda course highlighted on the use of refined text structuring to make sure that the words and characters used to drive the desired audience are precise and straight to the point. This avoids a possible occurrence of potential clients or customers, at a large scale.
With this information, it will make me more knowledgeable about how to budget effectively for myself as well as adverts, both on social media and traditionally.

Mastery Journal - Entertainment Business Finance
The Entertainment Business Finance was a total eye opener for me as a person who had a problem in prioritising time value of money and business, to the regard. That made me clumsy with money and this happened to make me slope down into hard financial situations. After going through this class, it has opened my mind to understanding the value of creating a business plan and a brief objective to achieving goals on a day-to-day basis.
My original objectives were to pass the class because I was challenged since numbers are not my specialty but I had to take on the challenge and opportunity to better myself, push myself and work extra hard to make sure I pass the class having known that I am ready to conquer the financial world and bring in investments to set up businesses that could potentially turn into franchises and high-quality global brands that empower job creation and skillful practice.
This automatically touches on the fact that money and time are two key essential parts of a human being’s day and if not managed well, could cause destruction and plain hindsight of business failure.
From the course, I learned a lot about stocks (which was always a curious topic for me to understand and grasp, which I do now) and building strong networks with the understanding of hiring a qualified accountant that should handle my business money matters and keep financial records to file with companies such as SEC, and tax return accuracy, amongst other relative companies involved.
Forecasting the Pro Forma Worksheet was a blessing in disguise because it has now created the avenue for me to research more about how much expenses are to better the company and always keep it afloat. Professionally, this course has made me take numbers more seriously and build a metadata of content that certifies my skillsets that could be used, even personally for a healthy personal financial growth, overall.

MY BUSINESS STORYTELLING AND BRAND DEVELOPMENT MASTERY JOURNAL
My journey, this month, has been an eye-opener for me, especially in business storytelling and brand development. The reason why is because I have been able to distinguish my brand from myself to form two different entities that allow independence and unique value proposition to take place.
In the beginning of the course, I was very oblivious and naïve to my brand outlook and positioning because I had lacked the skills and necessary fundamentals of business planning and how important every segment of the brand is from the target market, demographics, psychographics, revenue scheme to the logo design and name format. All these elements play a huge key role to the final outlook of any product or service.
Narrowing down to the original goal I had, stepping into the class, was the need to understand how to package myself both online and offline. Content delivery, goal setting and strategy planning were my missions but I didn’t know how to constructively piece them all together to form a seamless representation of what my brand was in to offer. I am pleased to also have understood how important budgeting is on a general scale for any business plan execution because you must realize that the business needs to be SMART and authentic enough to achieve the vision and mantra created for the overall outcome of the business pursued. I have also been able to acquire knowledge that makes me sit back and re-evaluate my decisions and moves, which I came to learn as the word being postmortem.
In conclusion, the business storytelling and brand development class has made me better, personally and professionally, where I now fully understand what my purpose is, what the purpose of my business would be, which, therefore, makes room for my business to grow exponentially and successfully.

My PTM Mastery Journal
Project and Team Management was a very essential and vital course that opened my mind to creating well-articulated project plans that I could foresee from a distance, and plan towards to achieve the ultimate objective which would be a “success criteria” (Verzuh, 2016). Verzuh’s book, being the main text for this course, was also helpful because I got to see various angles of my project and how I could approach it professionally and concisely.
Trickling down to my own personal journey and experience with my project put my content and mind space on a completely new plateau because, now, I saw more than the current objectives I was aiming at achieving after the course commenced. This has helped me greatly to articulate my projects within work breakdown structuring, risk management planning, budgeting, personality check-up which were new to me and surprising too because of how unique and accurate they were i.e. DiSC and MBTI, etc. These are factors that affect projects either directly or indirectly but at the end of the day, it makes sense and controls the quality and progress of your project definition.
From looking at the team management aspect too, it shows how important teamwork is which highly affects the outcome of the results you yearn for. This is simply because every teammate has a role to play which is fundamental and well-guarded hence ultimately becoming a chain reaction in the long run because every department has an entrusted responsibility upon themselves to deliver. This can be articulated when milestones are pre-planned and conquered.
Coining the above, in conclusion, the project and team management class has boosted my chances of working with various teams, regardless of the project, to achieve a professional outcome that, at the end of the day, translates into a profitable and appreciated triumph.

Leadership Mastery Journal
In my Leadership Mastery Journal, I will be expounding on why I am more of a Maxwell leader than I am a Greene leader. In many instances, I have experienced leadership right from primary school where I was a prefect in the student body and I had to make and take stern decisions in conditions and I had to avoid favoritism so that I may maintain my integrity and keep my leaderships skills intact.
In that light, I am more of a Maxwell leader and less of a Greene leader, because I have always been a considerate individual regardless of who I talk to or associate with. This has enriched my personality traits and I do not regret it at all because it has opened my mind and created opportunities to work alongside strangers who have turned into friends and business associates. This closely ties into one of Maxwell’s leadership characteristics, influence. I would expand on my influence trait from the angle of where I have seen myself as a leader from a tender age, even up to last year, when I served for a year in the paramilitary in Nigeria. I was a leader within a committee serving over 100 people by guiding them through the year by handling corporate social responsibilities and creating ideas to enhance our local government to leave an impact on the society, therein. This was hard for me, in the beginning, because I experienced the five levels of leadership, first hand. Explaining, I was picked out of the crowd by the outgoing leadership team and I had to take on the responsibility of leading my batch throughout the year. I had to gain their trust, loyalty and above all, people development which made me a worthy leader to be respected.
However, I would have to apply Greene’s Leadership techniques in cases where, within the entertainment industry, some cases would be tough, and this is bound to happen because I have noticed that, over time, people are the hardest to work with when it comes to decision-making and teamwork, because worldviews and ethics may clash resulting to friction and disaster management. One Greene Law I pay keen attention to is Win Through Your Actions, Never Through Arguments. Actions speak louder than words and this is one trait I will act upon in my walk around the entertainment industry to avoid being hurt and reproached.
To that effect, I’m going to take this lesson and apply all these leadership traits to my work with artists, management companies, corporate organizations, and lawyers. That way, I will be preventing disappointment and lack of progress.
With that in mind, you, too, can apply what I have learned in your own career if you pay attention, keenly to detail, and know your surroundings to know what to do at that time. To be successful and attain leadership, you must practice traits from Maxwell’s teaching such as integrity, influence, priority and a good attitude. If you have these personalities, you are bound to create a revolution around your peers and, within you.
