{@prince-kivuli liked this for a starter}
The old king of the Shadowlands had completed his journey in the Circle of Life and joined the Great Kings of the Past, leaving his son, Kivuli behind in charge. Being a king was a great responsibility and for a young king with little experience it was always harder.
It was the same with Kivuli whose worried heart called Aslan to come. He showed up in the kingdom like the wind that you cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. The lion came to visit the new king and his family and to give the seeked answers for his questions. It was not compulsory, it was up to Kivuli if he needed help or not.
"Kivuli," the lion called while approaching him. "I am sending you my deepest condolences for your father."

"Oh, you are a naughty boy!" Aslan himself was surprised to be caught, although he was enjoying his time. He ran after the little cub, he didn't touched him tho, but leapt over Bahati's head again to cut his escape, just to make it funnier.
"Are you sure you want to come this way?" The lion laughed. He didn't want to finish his turn so soon, he wanted to give the cub a chance to prove himself.
Bahati grinned, about to pounce on Aslan’s nose, but the grown lion leapt over his head before he could. “Wow!” he whispered, jumping at him again- but Aslan dodged him!
“Hahahahaha!!!” the prince laughed, finally booping the tip of Aslan’s tail. “Now you’re it!!”
He ran as fast as his little legs could take him in the opposite direction, giggling all the while.

"Of course," said the lion in a tone like it was the most natural thing in the world. In Aslan's paws everyone was safe. He then turned towards Kiara and to allay her worries he breathed on her.
"Here you are. My breath has just put a disguise on you, thus you are under my protection. It is given from me, therefore no enemy will recognize you, because they do not know me. If they knew me, they would know my ways too and everyone whom I send. But because they do not know me, they will not know you either because I sent you. Only friends will recognize you, and if someone does, so you will know that they are my friends."
Tumblr media
The growl shocked her, and her eyes widened as he spoke of punishment. She had not considered that he would punish her friends and family if they did not accompany her...perhaps she would have been more earnest in her persuasion. And yet, she knew it would have made little difference. Her people were too scared to have hope once more.
"Get into the castle?" she repeated, fearfully. "The Camelot citadel?" Even as he spoke of Emrys - she was well aware of the prophecies - she could not dismiss her anxiety. She would never make it!
"I'll be killed," she murmured, gnawing on her bottom lip. But there was such reassurance and wisdom in Aslan's voice, that already her fears were dissolving somewhat. "Will I...will I really be safe?"

Headcanon
This is my headcanon about why Aslan had “left” Narnia during the Telmarine Age. After the Pevensies suddenly disappeared, Narnia was left without rulers. The disappeared Kings and Queens couldn’t be found so the Narnians finally decided to choose a King by themselves. Hatred and envy rised among them, what’s more, some murdered their compatriots as well, others killed their talking animal “enemies” for meal. All these were offenses against Aslan with two points:
only Aslan can appoint the new King for Narnia if the previous ruler has no heir,
murder others and eat talking animals were serious sins.
They broke the Laws, so Aslan decided to punish his people by leaving them but promised if they return to Him, He will return to them as well. This was the beginning of the Dark Age followed by the Telmarine Age. When Aslan felt that his people repented, fulfilling his promise he went to save them from Telmarine’s repression. Then, he made a covenant with Narnia (and King Caspian X) that he would not leave them without a king or queen ever. Aslan also knew that the Green Witch would rise one day and she would kidnap Prince Rilian. But Aslan had already made the plan before anything happened to bring Rilian back: he had chosen Eustace for this task to fulfill, he invited him to Narnia to work on him, so the boy became a dragon as it was not without purpose. Then, he invited him again along with Jill Pole to save Rilian, for the covenant not to be broken, and not let the past happen again.
Aslan takes care of Narnia -- like a father.

Forsaken. O', what a resigned phrase; and o', if he only knew that it was Aslan he was actually talking to! Yet, a disappointed heart like Caspian's was always hard to reach.
"You have lost much, indeed, but not everything," the owl spoke up again. The lost was much, it couldn't be doubted. For a loss of a son and a wife there were no words to describe. But Aslan had already made the plan before all this happened to bring Rilian back.
When Narnia was left without rulers after the Pevensie's disappearing, the Narnians stepped on the path of sin. (headcanon, you can find it here) Aslan had punished them for breaking his law, one dark era followed another, but in the end they returned to him, so he returned to them too -- and he had been taking care of his people, and he would not let them to be left without king or queen ever again, thereby preventing them to sin again just like in the past.
"You shall not die without an heir, Son of Adam," said the owl, and you could hear in the voice that the promise was serious, for Aslan never breaks a covenant, even if he is not believed. The bird then turned around, spread his wings as he was about to fly off. He didn't want to bother the king.
The King finally tore his tear-filled eyes away from the skies as he listened to the owl speak, and a faint frown crossed his features at the talk of the prophecy. Who was this creature, to arrive uninvited onto his balcony and speak of such things? He almost sounded like...but no, Aslan had long forsaken him.
He had not lost everyone. He still had friends, loyal servants, his knights...but he would have traded them all in a heartbeat for the lives of his wife and son.
"I have lost too much," he responded, his voice despondent. "But I do not wish to speak of this. Please leave me," he repeated, again. There were very few he wished to speak to these days; he relied more and more on his second-in-command to continue the ruling of his kingdom.

"Yes, but even if you drink natural water you shall be thirsty again." Aslan put his large paw onto Elora's hand that touched the hilt and pushed it down a little bit, not with force, but softly and gently. Sword, murder, revenge - these were not Aslan's path at all.
The lion's amber eyes met her ocean blue eyes as he looked at her, and saw all the difficulties revealed by them. Nevertheless, Aslan knew the story of Tir-Mor and knew what kind of destruction had taken place there by the Southrons. He knew its past, but also knew the future, for having chosen this path, Helios himself shall perish by the sword, too.
"You do not have to do it on your own, for I shall not leave you alone either," replied the lion with a reassuring smile, and his voice sounded like golden of golden. A promise from The Great Lion was always serious and never broken. "Verily, I say unto thee, the path of hatred never bears fruit. The reign of the Southrons will come to an end soon."

Elora looked down at the sword she had within its sheath. Her finger tips touching the hilt, they had shown no mercy to her mother, her father and especially not to her people. If Elora hadn't escaped that night then she was sure that she too would have perished. "you cannot satisfy one's thirst by drinking sea water" Elora commented, for such a young age she had grown wiser and smarter. It felt wrong, it wasn't in her nature.
Tumblr media
She knew she had the help of Camelot, of Arthur, the Knights and Merlin. Even the thought of going back to Tir-Mor felt difficult when her family felt as if it had been within Camelot. Ocean hues looked back toward Aslan, silver like hair resting upon her shoulders. Yet the dreams she had were getting worse, the nightmares of what once was and what was to come. "I cannot do it on my own.." to admit that she needed the help of friends and allies was often a struggle most leaders had, yet Elora always counted on the friendship of others. That thought made her smile slightly, and as she did a soft glow emitted from her, a shine like a star.. it was rather humorous how Arthur hadn't noticed.

"We can if you catch me," Aslan laughed, his eyes bright, then he made a leap high over Bahati's head and landed on the other side of him. In one moment the lion acted like he was letting himself be caught, then in the other moment he leaped again. Yes, Aslan was just as much a playful cat as he was a dangerous beast....
... and the laughter of his was carried on the wing of the wind.
Bahati stared at Aslan, awed by his words and wisdom. “Wow… you know everything!”
He grinned as he trotted alongside him, nodding. “Yeah, that makes sense! I’m less nervous now. Can we play or somethin’, Aslan? All the other cubs are back at Pride Rock, an’ I don’t wanna go back there right now. I don’t want ‘em all over me again.”

"My father once told me that life is a constant struggle but also something filled with beauty... I didn't understand it when I was a cub but now I believe I do, it's the smaller aspects like helping others or just seeing a sunset or birds and animals happy... the struggles are the obvious and I think you have seen more than your fair share haven't you?" The adult lion asked still not looking at the older and much wiser lion still focused on the beautifully calming sunset that painted the savannah in a rainbow of color
"Do you see the setting sun?" Aslan asked, his nose pointing towards west, his amber eyes still focused on the view.
"Verily, I say unto thee, the time is coming when the sun will rise for its last day. Until then, life will be the battle field betwen Good and Bad, Darkness and Light. For Light can not be percieved without Darkness, and you can not understand Darkness without Light. And everyone who chooses Light will defeat Darkness."

Aslan raised his eyes to the sky along with Caspian who looked like he was still looking for his late wife, hoping to find her there. However, Lilliandil didn't lived in these skies anymore, but had found home in Aslan's Country where they would reunite one day.
"No word has been lost from the Prophecy that you were once told," the owl spoke up again, as a gently reminder, and Aslan looked at Caspian again. This was that balcony where they had had that talk, where Aslan had told him that a new Power of Evil would rise, that families would be torn apart -- and exactly this had happened during the reign of the Green Mist and now the Green Witch destroyed Caspian's family as well.
And Aslan had promised he would be there with them in the battle. He was there indeed, as he didn't leave them when they had to fight the sea serpent. Also, Aslan had been working on Eustace, because that he had once become a dragon was not without purpose. He needed this to finally be able to walk on Aslan's Path, thereby making him ready for the journey that was yet to come. For he would be the child - with Jill Pole - who would save Prince Rilian and bring him back.
And Aslan knew it.
"You have not lost everyone you love. You just need to have faith."
The King hadn't noticed he was crying. It happened frequently now, silent tears streaming down his cheeks as he stood on the balcony nearly all night, staring up at the stars and desperately seeking a sign from his late wife.
He'd bravely continued after Lilliandil's death, knowing that he needed to demonstrate his strength. To be both father and King, not only for his son, but for his grieving nation. Everyone adored Lilliandil.
But now? Rilian gone too, with no sign of whether he was alive or dead? It was too much. Too painful. The King felt far older than his sixty years. He could not go on for much longer.
"Please leave me," he murmured, not unkindly. His eyes remained fixed on the stars, and he did not spare his unwanted guest a glance.

"O, what a faithless generation!" From somewhere deep inside Aslan's body there came a deep growl. Then, his voice turned soft like velvet as he continued to speak,
"Look, I shall not punish your people for their unbelief. Now that is not what I am here for. They can't see me because their heart is closed. A time is coming when their heart will get to know me, and there will be need for a mediator no more."
The lion turned towards the lake now, and the forest trail that lay beyond.
"Follow that path. It will lead you to a village where you will get help. There will be many soldiers, but do not fear, they will not recognize you. Tell them you came to meet Elizabeth and they will take you to her. She is a friend of Emrys and Gaius, thus an ally of the Druids, and she will tell you how to get into the castle."
She felt somewhat embarrassed that her remaining Druids had not believed her, had treated her words with scorn and rolled their eyes. Even her mother had looked at her sympathetically, and urged her to stay with them.
But how could she ignore Aslan's call? His promises? And dutifully, she had headed to the lake as instructed.
"I am alone," she agreed, inclining her head. "I think it was my word they did not believe," she admitted, abashed. If Aslan had spoken directly to them, then would surely have believed. How could they not?

"You are mature for your age, Bahati." Aslan stated as he listened to the cub and the way he worded. He could see the little cub, despite his young age, was able to look beyond what he could see. "I am not telling more for now, I and your parents have told enough and you understand. I will be telling more when it's needed, and I know you will hear my voice."
Aslan changed his direction now and headed deep into the kingdom, leading Bahati away from the borders. The Outlands and hyenas were near, although they didn't make any sounds heard, Aslan knew they were there.
"It is understandable if you are nervous about something that awaits you," the lion answered the thought behind the question. "Especially if it is something with responsibility. If you are nervous, that means you understand the importance of this rule, thus you will take it seriously. And the rule of a king must be taken seriously."
Bahati began to walk with him, looking up at the big lion with another smile. He saw him almost as a second father, really; King Fahari, his biological father, was a caring and supportive lion, but Aslan was so wise and cool…
“My mom gives me my morning lessons,” he explained, trotting to keep up with Aslan’s simple stroll. “She’s way more strict about that stuff than Dad is. It’s gets kinda annoying sometimes. But… I know she’s just gettin’ me ready to be king. I can’t complain about it.”
Bahati shrugged, tail swishing behind him. “My mom says the same thing, actually: that I’ve gotta know who likes me for bein’ the prince or for bein’ myself. It’s not hard ‘ta tell these days,” he mumbled, scowling. “I mean, Kuwinda, one a’ the girl cubs in my pride, is always following me around. But she doesn’t care about me- she just wants to be queen one day.”
The young cub took those words in and nodded, however- the part about making decisions based on love. “Yeah, I try doin’ that even now,” he said. “I don’t really have any say in what my parents do or what they choose for the Pridelands, but sometimes my mom asks me about some things an’ what I think she should do. I think it’s ‘cause she wants me to practice making big decisions for when I’m king one day.”
Bahati paused. “Aslan, if you were a cub again, an’ if you were gonna be king of the Pridelands one day… would you be nervous?”

"Right," Aslan chuckled in his deep, majestic tone and motioned the cub for a walk.
"I have other kingdoms to attend to. I must preach the Law to other lands also, this is my destiny. As yours is to be the king of the Pride Lands." The lion explained and gave Bahati a warm, encouring smile. Yes, everyone has their own place in this world and talents must be put to good use.
"In this young age of yours being the future king can be very impressive, however, when you become older you need to see who likes you for you and who likes you for your crown. And the decisions you make must build on love."
When he said this, his amber eyes fixed on the Pride Rock in the distance for a brief moment.
"Did you have your morning lessons with your dad?"
Bahati shrugged. “No, I ate with the other cubs this morning. We finished off an impala calf that was caught for us yesterday.”
The young cub smiled. Aslan was so smart! It seemed as though he knew everything, but no creature did. Not even Aslan.
At least… that’s what Bahati thought.
“I came out ‘ta have some fun on my own!” he told his big friend, standing and giving his upright tail a flick at the tip. “Besides, hanging out with the cubs in my pride gets old. All the girl cubs wanna be my queen one day, an’ all the boys are try’na be my ‘best friend’ so they can be, like… respected by my mom or something. I dunno.”
The tan-furred cub paused, and then craned his neck to look up at Aslan once more, his green eyes curious and bright. “I haven’t seen you in a while. Where’ve ya been? Helping other animals around the Pridelands, right?”

Companion In The Dungeon
{@dragonspined like this for a starter}
Dark years had come upon Rivian since man entered this world. Hunting and murder had escalated, forcing the animals to leave their natural habitats. It was not any different with the dragons who were forced to escape too, although some of them decided to stay and fight.
One dragon, Devani, was one of them. They had a hard time in this world and hope seemed to be lost. The dungeon that had been their home for almost 7 years was dark and infinitely quiet.
However, one day, a Voice broke the silence.
"Devani..." the Voice firstly was barely audible, almost a whisper -- they might even think they were just hallucinating, but as Aslan called again, the voice became louder,
"Do not fear me, Devani, I have come to help."

He looked down at the little cub and licked the top of his head in return. It made him smile to see how much love Bahati had in him, this innocence warmed Aslan's heart.
The lion glanced over in the direction of Pride Rock when the cub made the offer, then looked at Bahati again.
"I am sure of that, my little friend, but you know, we shall not live by meat alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Emperor," he answered with a smile and looked into the distance for a moment, soft breeze messing up his golden mane.
"And you? Do not you want to join? Are not you hungry?"
Bahati had been chasing a butterfly, laughing joyfully as his paws batted at the creature, but then he heard a low, familiar voice speaking to him.
The prince looked up. His pal Aslan was sitting nearby!
“Aslan!” Bahati hurried over, forgetting about his ‘prey’. The lion cub rubbed up against Aslan’s forelegs, purring and flicking his tail. “It’s good ‘ta see you again! And don’t worry- my mom gave me permission to go out for today.”
He sat down before the grown lion, smiling with the brightness of the sun. “What’re you doing all alone here, Aslan? Don’t you wanna come join my family at Pride Rock? They took down a zebra this morning, and I’m sure you’d be welcome!”
