Hi! I follow the #farscape tag which brought me this post. SO happy that people are still using the resources. To your question about wanting the original scans I’ve actually uploaded them all in the articles folder! The article you’re looking for is from Starlog #287.
I deleted all the content from my magazine scans that wasn’t related to Farscape, but if you want to find the full scans of the whole magazine issues, I got them by searching the internet archive, which is full of amazing scans of all kinds of old magazines. Enjoy!!

Scorpius Delecti by Rhonda Krafchin. Wayne Pygram adds a taste of evil to the Farscape experience.
Wayne Pygram deliciously etches Farscape's master villain, Scorpius.
Wayne Pygram likes to tell a story from his first day on set of Farscape playing resident baddie Scorpius. After hours in the makeup chair, the Australian actor emerged onto the soundstage decked out in full costume--a slinky, black, reptilian getup, bombardier-style helmet and full facial prosthetics that turned Pygram's face into a grotesque, grimacing, skeletal head with bad dental work and deep-set eyes. The five-minute camera test was the first glimpse anyone had had of the new character.
"The whole set literally stopped," Pygram recalls. "Everyone put down tools and was looking at me: 'What the hell is that?'" Pygram pauses, relishing the memory. "I felt the power. I had walked into a room and everyone stopped. I automatically felt the seduction. Then I walked up to a friend and started talking to her about her son. How was he? How was it going at school? She had no idea it was me. And the look in her eyes, the fear in her eyes, having this skull talking to her in detail about her son. From that day on, I knew I didn't have to do much. All I have to do is stand there and speak, and people are going to listen because the image is so potent. He's spooky."
Though Scorpius was originally intended only for a four-episode story arc on Farscape, the character just proved too

link: concept art + bts images
youtube
Early last year, one of the matte painters for season one, Wayne Haag (who has since worked on a bunch of famous movies) did a “portfolio review” of his work for Farscape. I originally started watching it in order to take some screenshots of the paintings to archive, which I’ll be putting online soon I hope, along with some other concept art and behind-the-scenes stuff. But at the end of the video, he revealed that he had a whole collection of set pictures from season one. Mostly from Til the Blood Runs Clear, but also with a few from I ET, Throne for a Loss, Thank God It’s Friday Again and Rhapsody in Blue. Long story short, I’m also going to screenshot these to archive. But I thought you guys might like looking at some of them as a preview.

links: concept art
A while ago there was a fansite called Karlsweb that had collected a lot of articles and behind-the-scenes info. I started going through it to copy the images into the image archive, but decided that I didn’t want to remove all of the informative captions. So if you’re interested in behind-the-scenes stuff, here are some wayback links to all of its pages related to concept art and costume and makeup design. I thought I’d consolidate them here since a lot of the links are broken if you try to navigate the site through the wayback machine directly.
Chiana concept art
D’argo concept art
Pilot concept art
Rygel concept art
Scorpius concept art
Zhaan concept art
Misc aliens concept art: page one, page two, page three
Ships concept art: page one, page two
Revenging Angel concept art: John, Aeryn, D’argo, Scorpius, Rygel, Groups, Backgrounds, Props
Misc aliens costume design: pages one, page two, page three
Misc costume design for regular cast: page one, page two
Peacekeeper costume design: page one, page two

update: images
Big update! I’ve been spending a while searching the internet for all kinds of images related to the show: promotional stills and photoshoots, behind-the-scenes photos, concept art, and magazine covers (that either feature or mention Farscape). And now you can browse all 2000+ of them here.
Unfortunately, because I don’t have access to the original images, and only found these by extensive searching, it’s definitely incomplete. The images also vary a lot in terms of quality. Some are in huge, gorgeous HD, and some look like they were taken with a toaster and then faxed and then had another toaster scan them onto the internet. I’m still searching for more images and will probably keep adding to the archive sporadically. So if you happen to notice that you have an image that isn’t here, or you have it in better quality, let me know! Or if you have access to a bunch of images, but don’t know if I have them too, I’d love to look through them.
Endless thanks to the people that have uploaded these images over the years.  Here’s a small preview of the sorts of things you can find here. Enjoy!

update: articles
I’ve added a section for old articles and interviews about the show. Many are taken from the now-offline johnaeryn.com site, others were sourced from archive.org magazine collections, and many more are thanks to Captain Cat on discord (thank you!!). Some are still available online, but which I’ve included for the sake of convenience. There are about 140 articles now, but I’ll add more if I get around to finding them.
Some examples of things you can find in this collection: chats with the cast and crew from when the show was filming like this one with David Kemper after season two or this one with Ben Browder and Claudia Black to promote The Peacekeeper Wars, Television Without Pity’s recaps, an article on the show’s depiction of trauma, or a feature in Starlog from the year the show started.

update: higher quality + streamable episodes
Was very excited to find copies of the episodes in a higher quality than I currently had, and with x264 video encoding, which allows them to be streamed. Long story short, the episode files are now even better for editing. And also you can watch them without downloading.
This also means that the episode files are bigger than they were before. Most are around 3GB now, and the Peacekeeper Wars ones are around 6GB. There was no way to reduce that without losing quality, unfortunately. But if you prefer the smaller size, or don’t have the bandwidth for the bigger size, the old files are all still available here.

update: books + episodes in .mp4
Just made an update. Episodes are now all in .mp4 instead of .mkv, which is a much more convenient file type for editing. I originally put them up in .mkv because I didn’t know how to convert them without losing quality (handbrake is convenient but there’s always a bit of quality loss). But I learned a bit of file encoding and figured it out. So they should be in the same quality as before, just with a file type that doesn’t need to be converted to work with. But if you prefer .mkv, those files are still available here.
I also found a few books on the show (sadly there aren’t many), and put those up too. If there are more you know of, let me know.

Note
I looked through your blog, but I don’t see any links to anything
Go to this page! Clicking on an episode name will take you to the file for it.
Edit: If you’re looking on mobile and that’s why you couldn’t see anything, tumblr doesn’t show a user’s extra pages in the mobile app. I suggest using a regular browser instead.

welcome to the farscape resource site!
Tumblr media
This account is inspired by the @hdbuffy tumblr, which has been invaluable in making Buffy the Vampire Slayer accessible to new viewers, and allowing fans both old and new to easily make high quality content for the show. Kudos and full credit to them. It’s also slightly inspired by the Buffy archive on archive.org. I’m hoping that by making a similar resource for Farscape I can help more people find and enjoy this incredible gem of a science fiction show.
Here you’ll be able to find every episode of Farscape, including The Peacekeeper Wars, in 1080p quality. Except for The Peacekeeper Wars, all episode files are around 3GB. I’ve also uploaded English subtitles and all of the DVD extras I could find, including the Farscape: Undressed special that aired between seasons two and three. Most of the extras are in 540p, with a few in 480p.
For those who haven’t seen it: Farscape was an Australian-American science-fiction show that aired from 1999 to 2003, and was produced by the Jim Henson Company. By turns hysterically funny, emotionally devastating, brutally dark, profoundly romantic, and unabashedly bizarre, Farscape pushed the limits of what science-fiction television could be. Although the early parts of season one might seem to have things in common with the episodic storytelling of shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who, Farscape soon became an intensely serialized, character-driven epic about love, trauma, and galactic war. Featuring a protagonist that deconstructed the imperialist, American masculinity of typical scifi heroes, a romance so exhilarating and well-executed it’s impossible to describe, and a refusal to let its characters ever forget the things that happened to them, Farscape is one of the most brilliantly creative and subversive works of genre ever made. Beneath the colorful animatronic creations of the Jim Henson Creature Shop, the show is ultimately a philosophical exploration of identity and home. What does it mean to be an alien, and to be changed by the things that happen to you?
That, and it’s fun and sexy too.
I’m hoping that this account can be as comprehensive as a resource as possible. If you’ve made any scenepacks or have access to other content that you think fans would appreciate, please feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to host and share them. Follow if you’d like to receive updates any time I upload something new. Here are some things I’d love to track down, below the cut:
- Audio Commentary - 1x09 DNA Mad Scientist - Rockne S. O’Bannon & David Kemper
- Audio Commentary - 2x01 Mind the Baby - David Kemper, Lani Tupu & Andrew Prowse

- The Peacekeeper Wars making-of documentary
- Any other DVD extras not already uploaded
- Any other official interviews or behind-the-scenes content
- Audio description files for the blind. I don’t know if the DVDs ever came with them, though.
- Non-English subtitles. I’ve found a few, but due to not speaking the languages I’m unable to verify if the timing works with the video files I’ve uploaded or if the translations are good.
- Transcripts or subtitles for DVD commentaries or other extras. johnaeryn.com used to host a bunch, but only a few are still accessible via the wayback.
- Promotional photos and stills. Some are still online, but many are missing now that johnaeryn.com is down.
- Academic books or articles about the show
- Anything else I didn’t think to ask for!
