So just for fun, and to try and overcome some serious artist’s block, I decided to try and redraw this picture from the Escher Girls tumblr:

I really like the original. i like the use of colour and shading and muscle definition and mine is nowhere near as competent. But it was a lot of fun. I tried to make her spine less rubbery, I don’t think I was very succesful there and I don’t know what happened to her face, I tried to copy his style but I defaulted to my own.

I wanted her to look more like she was having fun in the ocean, rather than posing for generic male gaze. Jury’s still out on that one.
