You Don’t Have to Conceal It Anymore
More sketching practise this time with the lovely queen of Arendelle many of us have come to love, Elsa, accompanied by ... Herself ...  :o I'm aware it seems odd. I just wonder what it would be like if the Elsa after the 'Great Thaw' ever approached the Elsa that was at the coronation. They’re so different! XD

Captain Amelia: Early Concept #02
More sketching practise involving early concept designs for Captain Amelia. I just can not get over how amazing this design looks, nor how enjoyable it is to draw.

PencilsCaptain Amelia: Early Concept #01
A while ago I came across an old concepts for Captain Amelia by Ken Duncan and absolutely loved this design in particular. Least to say I simply had to draw it at some stage, hence this piece here.

Beauty Scars
I cannot help but feel that, out of all the Felinids in Battle at Procyon poor Karoline gets the least love. So here's my fursona, Tiller Valliere, giving her and her battle scars some affection. :3 Call me crazy, but I like Karoline's design - eyepatch and all. Just something about the way she looks gets to me. <3

Enough Misery
Here are cousins Amelia and Aurora during their time as cadets at the Interstellar Academy. :3  The story behind the piece is that, as I see it, Amelia was most likely very studious at the academy, always pushing herself to be better than the rest and working herself to the bone to get top results. Anyway, in the final year she finds that the stress of the end-of-year exam is too much; she worries that she won't pass and she'll never be accepted in the navy. She pushes herself to exhaustion, studying more, sleeping less and eating little until she is overwhelmed and eventually breaks down. Aurora, who takes everything in stride, finds her cousin moping in their room and growls at her to stop pushing herself so hard and quit it with the self-loathing. Y'know, real heart-to-heart stuff. XD
Both of them don't look much younger than what they do in Treasure Planet/Battle at Procyon seeing as it is their last year as cadets. They are probably about 20 years old here - roughly the same age that Jim was in BaP when her graduated.

I Know There is Still Good in You
So, after having seen the broadway musical Wicked in Auckland's Civic Theatre last October and having liked it so much, I decided to watch Disney's_ Oz: The Great and Powerful_ for the first time (I hadn't seen it before since I wasn't all that fussed about The Wizard of Oz) soon after. ^^; This piece was completed shortly after that and sat forgotten in my pictures folder until just now.
I was inspired by the implied backstory between Glinda's family and who would later become the evil sisters. :D It got me wondering how such a pure and kindred soul like Glinda would feel about Theodora, who once appeared so innocent, becoming hard-hearted so quickly. :hmm: This is the result of that thought. Here Glinda seeks out Theodora at her castle (or Kiamo Ko for those Wicked fans out there ;) ) to tell her that she doesn't blame her and tries to convince her to return to the Emerald City and the path off goodness. :3

Bambi
It's Bambi from Disney's infamous, heart-wrenching animated classic, Bambi. Such a beautiful film complete with stunning landscape animation and a brilliant score. It's also one of only a handful of films that actually made me cry.

Delgado
No, this is not just any old German Shepherd/Alsatian. This old boy here is in fact Delgado from Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua in how I think he would appear if the film had been made as an animated classic rather than a live action feature. :D

Berlioz
Here we have Berlioz from Disney's The Aristicats. Getting to do this wee fella certainly took me on a much needed trip down memory lane. The Aristocats happens to be one of my very earliest Disney favourites alongside 101 Dalmatians. <3

Salvation from Beyond the Duat
Even before The Kane Chronicles trilogy, despite my extremely limited knowledge on Egyptian mythology I have had a thing for Bast. I blame my obsession with feline humanoid characters. ^^;
As the story goes, when Ra (the eagle-headed Sun god) decided to retire, he had to make sure that his adversary, the huge serpent demon Apophis (known as Apep in Egyptian mythology) was kept buried in the Duat so that he would not bring darkness and chaos to Earth. Therefore, Ra assigned his loyal guardian, Bast, to remain in the darkest depths of the Duat with the snake to prevent him from escaping. After centuries of constant fighting with the demon, Bast began to grow tired and weak. It was Carter and Sadie Kane's mother who predicted that Apophis would eventually kill Bast and escape from his prison. :noes: So to buy some more time, she opened an entrance into the Duat with her magician knowledge in order to set Bast free. And here we are with Bast about to be released from the Duat.
