Burned black churches in Louisiana raise $1.3M after Notre Dame fire
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/louisiana-black-churches-burned-arson-fires-raise-more-1m-after-n995536
Three historically black churches have burned in less than two weeks in one south Louisiana parish, where officials said they had found “suspicious elements” in each case. The officials have not ruled out the possibility of arson, or the possibility that the fires are related.
The three fires occurred on March 26, Tuesday and Thursday in St. Landry Parish, north of Lafayette. A fourth fire, a small blaze that officials said was “intentionally set,” was reported on Sunday at a predominantly black church in Caddo Parish, about a three-hour drive north.
This is my take on this tragic reports: It’s uncommon you'll find a church that doesn't accept someone of another race, even in the deep South. It's often more about how members worship, cultural identity, and even spoken language. Black churches are more- lively. White churches are typically filled with people that just want to sit down, shut up, get their self-superior weekly dose of Jesus over with, and go home.
After Notre Dame, Black Churches are being arsine. What in the world is going on ? Why are Churches primarily being attacked and targeted as hate crime? I don’t want to mention the culprit (because we do not need to make his name famous) but this was definitely a hate crime. THREE CHURCHES BURNT DOWN IN SPAN OF TWO WEEKS? This is ridiculous. The house of God, a hospital for the needy, and a place of fellowship is attacked. I am so sadden by this country. I’m a christian, and I attend church every Sunday... how can i not live out of fear when a place of worship is being attacked?

Notre Dame
7 Notre Dame
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/15/paris-notre-dame-cathedral-on-fire-reuters.html
The Notre Dame has been a tragic news all over the world. Notre Dame is a significant historical church that plays a big role in Judeo-christian history. There’s rumors and suspicions  that “Isis” burnt down the church. How come every tragic event, Isis is always the first conspiracy theory? It’s a question I always ask myself and others who point it out. How come every threat we assume it’s Isis. What if this event was just an accident by the constructions (which i believe it was). Christians are getting attacked because of their beliefs on this whole situation.
Because a belief in Christianity (like other religions) is fueled by confirmation bias, and confirmation bias involves seizing on anything that (supposedly) confirms your belief while studiously ignoring anything that undermines it.
For many Notre Dame is probably one of the most beautiful architectural structures they have ever seen. For me though... I'm mostly sad about the feeling that in this age where the hip new thing is to destroy the old to usher in this virtue signaling narcissism of multiculturalism that what made Notre Dame "Notre Dame" will forever more be permanently rendered white washed and destroyed. That the political leaders of the new age hypocrisy will do their due diligence to prove how progressive they are by rendering the historical relevance of this grand cathedral obsolete and thus destroy what made it great in the first place.
That is what makes me sad.... That we have leaders and people who can't stand to learn about history and leave it's markers alone but have the need to obliterate it and what is worst is we have a good portion of the political establishment and the leftist media claiming that the destruction of historical statues and monuments as a victory to be cheered.
There is no victory in ignorance... Just a feeling of loss and sadness.

Maryland man allegedly attacked for wearing MAGA hat says it won’t stop him from putting it on again

6: Maryland man allegedly attacked for wearing MAGA hat says it won’t stop him from putting it on again
Interesting story of the day. An African American man wearing a MAGA hat (Make American Great Again) got attacked by two African American suspects. In the end of the situation, the victim apologized to the two strangers with love and reasoning.
“I have a message for love – that Jesus said in the Bible that you must love your neighbor, so I still love them,” he told Fox News. “I think whatever happened to me that day should not happen to anybody.
Wow! This guy surely came out of love and grace from this situation. We know that this guy is from the far right and a conservative... I feel like people who voted for the republican side of the campaign is being ridiculed for their beliefs. I understand that Trump, is a bigot, but some republicans (from my understanding) did not vote for the celebrity- they voted for their message and their beliefs. I believe some republicans, or the rightist, are not extreme (at-least the people i know). Some do not entirely believe in the wall, while others do. In my opinion, I feel that most conservatives are definitely getting attacked by people who do not agree with them. There’s a difference when it comes to disagree and being hateful towards each other.

Christian student senator abstains from pro-LGBTQ+ vote

5: UC Berkley student senator is asked to resign because of religious views.
Isabella Chow, a student Senator, a junior majoring in business administration and music, is being attacked and her faith is under fire. Chow expressed her opinion and belief towards transgender rights and became completely clear that her Christian belief will not stand for them. Now, 100,000 students are in favor to remove Chow out the Senator position because of her religious belief.
"Students have called her a 'horrible person' and a 'mental imbecile' — all because she is a Christian voicing her biblical convictions. There seems to be zero tolerance for Christians — and for the truth of Jesus Christ."
They labeled Chow has a horrible person and the students questions her right of authority. This controversy started when the Queer Alliance Resource Center asked the student Senate to pass a bill the Trump administration to consider legal definition of someone’s gender (which is the gender at birth). Since then, the school has urged and promised those who felt invisible/attacked/unwelcomed in LGBTQ+, will feel safe and that camps groups are there to help them in whatever they can.
Chow expressed towards her 18 members in the Senate that voting against the bill would compromise her faith and religious belief. But she also stated that she condemns bullying and is against bigotry of one another. Unfortunately, Chow got backlash because of her beliefs.
"As a Christian, I personally do believe that certain acts and lifestyles conflict with what is good, right and true. I believe that God created male and female at the beginning of time, and designed sex for marriage between one man and one woman," - Chow
Chow politely stated her unpopular opinion and the leftist are combating against the right within free speech. She feels that she is being attacked because of her free-speech and how it is unfair to use free-speech. Chow feels like she’s living in a bubble and that everyone is defensive no matter what they say on a contrary or unpopular belief. In her interview, she explains how she’s being slained whenever she goes to class- people look at her negatively, judge her, and become defensive against her. She explains how she still loves them, but still disagree with them.
There was a panel and each and every person that attended the event demanded Chow to resign. EACH PERSON expressed their feelings towards Chow and explained in a defensive matter. Chow does not plan on resigning and says, ““Because if I do, there will be no one else to represent the voices that are ignored and misunderstood on campus.”

Chick-fil-A pulled from Buffalo airport after company's alleged 'anti-LGBTQ rhetoric' sparks backlash

4: Chick-fil-A pulled from Buffalo airport after company's alleged 'anti-LGBTQ rhetoric' sparks backlash
Chick-fil-A has been getting so much crap these days-can we all agree? We know Chick-fil-A has been under the rut from the leftist, because of their beliefs. If you did not know, Chick-Fil-A is owned and founded by Christian conservatives and  their sandwiches are so good.
This situation with “Anti Chick-Fil-A” all started with the CEO, who is an openly anti-LGBTQ+. Man past customers had a problem with the CEO because he spends his fortune towards anti-LGBTQ organizations. Because of this news, it spilled an outcry and controversy around the world. The CEO did say he would stop supporting the hate groups, but he would not change his beliefs. This still did not satisfy the leftist. Apparently he still donates towards these groups subtly through private schools, only because they do not believe in LGBTQ lifestyle. This is why it’s apparently considered taboo to eat at this franchise because consuming and spending money on their food gives it a reason to support more organizations
I don't feel the need to Boycott Chick-fil-A. The owner or CEO of Popeyes or any other company out there could be using their money and influence to do something far more evil, quietly, and I would likely never know.
They make chicken. It's pretty good, worth the money, nothing else involved for me. For example: Hobby Lobby trying to stop their employees having birth control- I would still shop there, ESPECIALLY if there is no craft stores near me. I don’t think it would be worth my time to drive 5 hours just to go to Michaels because I don’t agree with Hobby Lobby.
But I understand why some may strongly be against Chick-Fil-A. For me, i’ll eat their food because it’s THAT GOOD. People should let Chick-fil-A have their own policies and beliefs, and eat somewhere else if it doesn't fit their agendas.

Are Americans losing their religion?
https://video.foxnews.com/v/6017431858001/#sp=show-clips
3 Are Americans losing their religion?
A new survey indicates 'nones,' those Americans who don't affiliate with a specific religion, now represent 23 percent of the population, roughly the same as those that identify as evangelical or Catholic; reaction from Pastor Robert Jeffress, Fox News contributor.
The latest news that sparked Fox 5 news to make a story: Are Americans Losing their Religion?
Here’s a chart I observed for my religious class about a year ago.
Tumblr media
You can see a steady, tremendous incline from 1950-2010. The Christian religion is a big part of American history (in my opinion) and it is interesting to see how it’s slowly declining throughout the years. I could imagine how much it has declined from 2010 to 2019- since most Americans do not identify or affiliate with a religion or practice. I think there are three reasons why religion has been declining throughout the years: The ability to access information, in which it has made it easier to access the internet, the fast usage of technology and advanced science,  how most religion fail to adapt to modern standard, and personal experiences.
The ability to access information, in which it has made it easier to access the internet: Besides the fact we have to pay for internet, we have the luxury to access sites compared to Eastern Civilization. This internet age has no restriction- and the ability to research a question is at an instant. People who are questioning their faith or other faiths have this liberty to look up information from other sources.
The fast usage of technology and advanced science: The advancement of science and technology may have also let man stray away from religion. There are some people who do not believe in a higher power, except for science. This brings people away from religion. It can be hard to believe in a God when there is so many advancements in the human world that has been done through man and science.
How most religion fail to adapt to modern standard: Some churches stick to their old ways and do not accept ideals that are a “sin”. For example: no usage of birth control, no pre-marital sex, and anti- LGBTQ+
Personal experiences: this is more of a personal level on why people may have left the faith/church. Reasons might occur because of a death from someone they loved, sickness/cancer that is causing them to question the higher power, the provinces in third-world countries, etc. These personal question and experiences can leave one to question their faith and the higher power.
Education also plays a role. Rising educational opportunities usually — but not always — are associated with lower levels of religious adherence. School systems separate religion studies from education.
To some extent, life changes may be a reason for the change. As people age, begin rearing children and start facing their mortality, they become more religious.

The Latest: LGBTQ parents' group applauds Mormon change
In 2015, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints banned the baptism of banned baptisms for children of gay parents and made gay marriage a sin worthy of expulsion. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a religious group that practice and studies the doctrine of Mormonism. The Mormon religion has been quite controversial from the very beginning. For one, their beliefs almost ties similarly with Christianity- not not entirely. They do not believe in the trinity and they have a different belief when it comes to the after life. Second, the Church of Latter-day Saints (mormons in general) are stereotyped to practice polygamy- which has been banned in LDS and does not consider one who practices a member of the LDS.
As I stated previously, the Mormon religion ties similar in the Christian belief. Most Mormon members are generally associated with the republican/conservative party and believe in the same issues. One of the issues that arises in the LDS community: LGBTQ. LGBTQ has become a mainstream controversy and it battles between Church and State. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint do NOT believe in the practice of homosexuality. In 2015, the LDS community banned parents of LGBTQ children or parents of the LGBTQ (homosexual partners) to not be baptized and participate in the practice of LDS. Fast forward 4 years later, the rules of banning baptism to parents who have children of LGBTQ are now uplifted. The children of gay parents can now be baptized as long as they are approved and acknowledge will be taught by and through the doctrine.
I did a little research and read on LDS viewpoint on homosexuality:
Where the Church stands:
The experience of same-sex attraction is a complex reality for many people. The attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is. Even though individuals do not choose to have such attractions, they do choose how to respond to them. With love and understanding, the Church reaches out to all God’s children, including our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.
On a psychological level: I can now understand why it causes depression and suicidal thoughts among those who do not conform to what the church teaches. Why so many young goers stray away from the faith (any christian faith). They are not worth less because they have a desire for love and affection. It is easy to say that homosexuality is wrong when do not deprive themselves of the real need for affection and companionship. I recently read a facebook post about a 15 year old boy who participates in the mormon religion. He says how he is be provoked about his orientation and that he needs to seek help (i.e conversion therapy) or he’s going to Hell.
That being said- it’s  eye opening to see religious groups change their ways towards LGBTQ. Not saying Mormons approve the lifestyle of LGBTQ (they are still against the idea), but they are changing their ways.
