The sand in Okinawa, Japan contains thousands of tiny “stars”. These “grains of sand” are actually exoskeletons of marine protozoa, which lived on the ocean floor 550 million years ago.

The sea she calls to me. Thalassa the primordial goddess of the sea. Her soothing crash of the waves soothe my frazzled nerves. You can feel her motherly embrace as the water from the waves surround your feet in the sand. She was never the enemy of humans as some proclaimed in ancient texts.

I rearranged the treasure box on my main altar display for more of a sea theme. There are mostly fossils on display here, consisting of shark teeth, ammonites, pieces of coral and orthoceras fossils.

There are also some old keys, pennies and a couple of crystals, which are black kyanite and black tourmaline (though the tourmaline is kinda hidden, you can kinda see it peaking out near the bigger coral piece in the last couple photos).

⭐Sand and Magick⭐
Sand itself is beautiful and is composed mainly of rock that has been weathered and pulverized over the millennia and transported to the sea.
Most sand consists of quartz and feldspar. Quartz is the most common and widely dispersed mineral on Earth. And quartz is known to amplify the energy of whatever is near it.
Quartz is not the only mineral to be found in a handful of sand; pink and red garnet, black tourmaline, and beryl are also common. The sparkly flakes are usually mica.
Sand is considered a mediator (in-between worlds) as the beach is part of the land but as the tide turns it is once again claimed by the Ocean. Sand carries the energy of this movement and the perpetual cycles of tides and seasons.
⌛ A dish of sand on the altar can be used to draw Norse Runes, Sigils, or other symbols by simply running your fingers through the sand.
⌛You can use sand as a substitute for quartz to amplify your other ingredients (herbs, crystals, etc.)
⌛Use sand in spells, charms, etc. that involves; transition, in-between worlds, cycles, and movement.
⌛Place a candle on sand to help give more power to your candle spells.
⌛Sand can be bought in different colors (pink, white, black, blue, etc.) as craft sand in stores are still pulverized rock like beach sand and carry quartz too. Use colored sand to strengthen spells, candles, etc.
