the new moon is the start of the lunar cycle, it occurs once a month and is completely dark visually.
it is best for setting intentions for the month ahead and is a time for new beginnings, as it is the start of a new lunar cycle. it’s the best time to make plans on what you want to achieve over the lunar cycle.
keywords: blank page, new beginnings, unlimited possibility, planting seeds, intention

the waxing moon is the second phase in the lunar cycle. visually, it’s a crescent, illuminated on the right hand side.it’s the first sign of building energy as the moon moves towards the full moon.
it’s a good time to build up self confidence, compassion, self assurance, and to begin planning to reach goals.
keywords: fresh energy, conceptualize, attention to detail, sprouting, proclamation
𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙵𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚀𝚞𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚛
the first quarter is the third part of the lunar cycle. the whole right side of the moon is illuminated during this time and is at half power.
during this time, it’s best to reflect and celebrate achievements, as well as prepare for the full moon.
keywords: momentum, challenges, attention, sending roots, action, self-reflection
𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚡𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙶𝚒𝚋𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚜
the next phase in the cycle leaves only the left edge of the moon unlit. the moon is only a sliver away from being at full power.
this phase is best for refining intentions/goals/actions, as well as staying mindful of internal and external affairs. pay attention to details during this time.
keywords: patience, mindfulness, action, gestation

the peak of the lunar cycle--the moon is at her full power. her energy can be used for manifestation or insight.
the full moon is best used for adding power to intentions and is the perfect time for doing spells/rituals. it’s also a good time for manifestation spells, meditations, rituals, charging crystals, cleansing tarot cards, etc.
keywords: manifestation, peak energy, blossoming, spell work, cleansing

during this time, the moon’s power begins to power down and is seen as the right side having a shadow.
the waning gibbous phase is best for inner evaluation and readjusting intentions and goals for the rest of the month based on what happened during the full moon.
keywords: assess, evaluate, review, harvest
𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚍 𝚀𝚞𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚛
while the moon is only illuminated on the left side, the moon is back to half power.
this phase is the perfect time to let go of things holding you back or causing negativity in your life (i.e. self-limiting, fears, or an idea that hasn’t been able to manifest itself).
keywords: readjustment, release, cleanse, decomposition, forgiveness
𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚆𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙼𝚘𝚘𝚗
the moon’s power draws to a close and there is only a small crescent visible on the left hand side, and the new moon is drawing near.
this final phase is best for surrendering to whatever has happened and accepting that it was out of your control. unreached goals shouldn’t be used to self-deprecate, they should be given back to the universe and you’ll have a chance to try to reach them another time.
keywords: surrender, self-kindness, compassion, reflection, composting
