If you're unaware, Eldewrito was a mod for the Russia only "Halo Online" game, which in of itself was a heavily modified closed alpha test of Halo 3 ported to PC back before MCC on Steam complete with new weapons, a weaponsmith system, maps, Forge mechanics, gameplay elements, and this horrid pseudo Halo 4 art style.
Bleugh.
Since Halo Online was private, and only available to a Russian audience, modders began work on bringing the game closer to the original Halo 3 in parity, so that the dream of Halo 3 on PC could finally be a reality. When Halo Online was cancelled Eldewrito became pretty popular and I played quite a bit of it myself. it was tons of fun. One of my favorite little things were the viewmodel settings, the custom armor color editing, and the new first person jumping animations, as there never were any in Halo 3.
MS asked them to stop development shortly before The Master Chief Collection was announced for PC, and after 6 years they've finally got a new update.
It now includes a new launcher, a modded custom games browser with automatic mod downloading, and support for Halo 3 MCC mods!
Very conflicted on whether I should be motivated by this or disheartened.
This is prodigal stuff, here. I can't even remember what I was doing when I was 14.
Whenever I see this kind of stuff I keep telling myself they've got supportive parents that fostered and encouraged their skills. It felt like my parents never really cared about my passions.
