tbh i don't think rosy continued it just to milk its popularity. she's a famous gachatuber with over a million subs, she could just make a new series with as much charm and skill tmf has and it would still be a hit with her fans. but tmf has a lot of unfinished plot points (lia & hailey, the aftermath of the jomies breakup, etc), and even if the new characters at the end weren't added in, if the the series ended with just the music club flexing their trophy, some fans would feel unsatisfied and wanting more (granted every series has fans like that when it's ended but it seemed like even rosy must've felt that cause she made the decision for a second season)

since 40 minutes is already a lot of time for the second part of the finale (and fans waited for a long time), rosy had to end season 1 wrapping up the major plot first (the music club reconciling and the band competition) and then leaving something open at the end (the guy from jake's past) so season 2 already has something big to start with, and she can just either make subplots to solve previous problems (hailey & lia, which honestly does make sense since it would be both hailey & jake both confronting someone from their past 😭), or mash it up with the main plot (cause if max did know jake before then he probably knew drew too and vice versa, and if that's true then... idk but something about the jomies).

so yeah, imo rosy's choice to make a season two was probably done to satisfy herself and her fans, and to wrap up other plots/explore more into the show after the competition.

but if rosy ever does drag the show out to the point it's bad, i think it would be less because of the fame she gets from it, and more because she loves the series itself, since she's very passionate about it and its characters.

it really does suck how stacy and elliot getting any further development in this series is impossible at this point. which, isn't really *that* bad because they're only side characters, but since their roles so far are less being actual characters and more so being plot devices or accessories to other more important characters (milliot) it's an annoying problem the series has and it makes me worry for those other characters from the leaks (if they'd be competitors with minor significance or plot devices to help jake. and if it were the latter, they could still just be swapped for other characters that actually need to be utilized because we don't need anymore characters described as ‘important' only to be discarded away after being used *cough* stacy *cough*)

even a single cameo from either stacy or elliot wouldn't... really... fix their problem, it would only make their fans be happy and show that rosy didn't forget them but. that's it. and even if elliot helps jake (whether talking him through or calming milly down, but again, with the latter he'd still just be there for the ship) like how some people speculate it still doesn't add that much depth to his character and would mostly render him as another plot device to keep stuff going (unless, yk, elliot somehow gives jake his own backstory that will help them bond with each other but 1, it's unlikely, and 2, it would only be a brief moment between all the other shit happening in 40 mins.)

ok i won't poke on elliot TOO MUCH since he is probably getting that spinoff (despite how cool that'd be it doesn't change that he's still pretty much useless and used for shipping in the main show) but stacy's character writing is just so. bad. *maybe* if she got her own spinoff (the chance of that is negative) or had a significant role in elliot's (highly unlikely) her character would feel less like something a 12 y/o wattpad weebo made to make her yaoi ship sail. she has absolutely no way of naturally fitting into the last episode without it wasting time for more important characters and more important plot points. and that's just sad.

stacy sucks

stacy from the music freaks is a one dimensional, useless character that serves nothing to the series besides getting in the way of lander and being a pick me girl.

she's so boring, how could anyone have her as a favorite let alone like her? her design is so mid, and her writing is worse. she's annoying and she also kisses luke without consent (which is something NO ELSE in the series ever did, because zander totally didn't do that either)

and while we're on the subject of the series' character writing, can we talk about zoey? her character is so complex, totally strays away from the stereotypical blonde mean girl – i'm so glad we got to explore the reason why she acts the way she does and how the show definitely explores the subject of her manipulating grown men and her classmates for money! and let's not forget, how the show explored her relationship with lia aka her supposed bff who she totally didn't get over in just a few seconds! wow what a well written and deep character!!

also luke definitely has a character outside being zander's love interest. definitely.

i'll be honest i've sorta lost interest with stacy/hailey and most of my old tmf ships & the series itself a while back. the only thing keeping me interested are some of the characters (namely stacy since she's a HUGE favorite of mine) and maybe a few of my first ships in the fandom.

though if i had to answer your question, zoey would most likely be annoyed that her friend is dating someone she hates, and she'd probably try to talk stacy out of it. with that said, i don't think stacy's that much of a pushover, and she'd have to try to convince zoey to see her side. maybe they'd argue and break up or maybe zoey would force herself to go through with it, depends on how strong their friendship is or how long stacy's been dating hailey (if they've just started out or if they've been together for months now)

i wonder if (and how much) stacy tried changing herself to get luke to like her. after all it's not uncommon for people to change themselves to impress their crush. and with how stacy acted so nervous and awkward during her interactions with luke, not to mention how desperate she was to hear his answer, it's not too farfetched that she'd try to do that right?

imagine stacy pulling all nighters studying so she could smarter in hopes of impressing luke with her high grades, but sometimes her eyes hurt from reading in darkness or she has trouble waking up early in the morning.

imagine stacy trying to get out of her comfort zone, participating more in social activities and being active more, despite her usual awkwardness and anxiety, just so she can cheer on luke when he's playing with his friends or something.

imagine stacy asking zoey, of all people, for fashion/boy advice because she secretly envies how easy things come to her and how she gets everything she wants, compared to stacy, who can barely look at her crush with calmness.

(and adding onto with the stacy/zoey friendship hc, zoey refuses to give her advice because she thinks stacy deserves better than the music freak, but she takes her out shopping anyway with a cover up excuse that “her wardrobe needs improving” – but she'll never admit she did it to make her stop looking so sad)

i just feel like it's something stacy would do, and it doesn't seem like it'd be too out of character either. she's already shown to dislike her clumsiness, so again, it's not farfetched that she'd want to improve herself more, especially if it was for her crush.

heyyy i know it's been a long while since i last posted anything on here, and i'm really sorry for that. i've was feeling burnt out by schoolwork and family issues during that time and so didn't have any time or energy to make an actual post. but i'm back now and hopefully i can actually start posting regularly again. i actually have some drafts i haven't finished yet before i disappeared so i'll post those and new ones soon! i'm also planning to edit my intro but yeah, after that, i'll try to post regularly more from now on 👍

ahh i'd love to! i have so many ideas and stuff about them

i think, if they ever got together (either in a friendship or romantic relationship) they would trust each other way more than all the other relationships they have with other characters. now i know that might be a bit unbelievable because of how zoey is perceived but hear me out:

even though they're not complete opposites, i do think they contrast each other really well. zoey is pretty insecure (mostly evidently seen when jake brought up telling drew about her ‘sugar daddy’), she doesn't take being embarrassed very well and she tries to get revenge however she can. she usually puts on a ‘nice and innocent’ mask when it comes to drew or higher authority figures like the teacher, and its mostly to hide her bad intents (like using drew for money or blaming milly).

meanwhile, stacy (from what we've seen of her) doesn't have too much trouble expressing feelings, like admitting her flaws (her clumsiness) or admitting her feelings to luke (and strongly believing that he would come to like her over the time as well). now while she doesn't mask up her feelings like zoey does, she actually has trouble keeping them a secret. with how obvious her crush on luke was, it was shown both in the way she acted and spoke (how much she blushed & smiled around him and also kissing him even before she actually confessed; her repeated apologizing to him when she was clumsy and how she cheered for him). but even though it's barely a secret, she still has her reasons for trying to keep it one for so long and not just outright confessing to luke (as she said she's had a crush on him for a long time) people usually don't confess immediately because they're afraid of rejection, and i think that's pretty much the case for stacy too. the way she really believed that luke would eventually like her and how she was desperate to hear his response to her confession further proves that.

basically, even though it's for completely different reasons, they both hide their true feelings to protect themselves (and their secret) in some way, and also kinda because of some insecurity there. zoey doesn't want anyone to know about her ‘sugar daddy’ thing because it would embarrass her badly while stacy was hesitant on confessing her crush because not only would she be embarrassed but probably disappointed too.

not to mention the fact that when both their secrets were revealed, it ended on the worst way for them. stacy didn't even get a response from luke and he didn't even come back to the classroom after her confession, she probably had to see him and zander dating the other day and probably even feel bad and shameful. zoey not only got friend dropped by lia, but also had a break up with drew after jake told him about her secret, which left her crying and alone with probably no shoulder to cry on (because i doubt maria or anyone else cares that much or even knows about the ‘sugar daddy’ thing to sympathize with her)

i just think they could relate and empathize with each other in some way, maybe comfort each other because they got emotionally hurt when a part they've kept hidden finally got exposed in the long run. stacy, though i don't think she would support zoey's ‘sugar daddy’ stuff, would try to understand her more because she probably knows that there's more to someone than what's on the surface. meanwhile zoey would sympathize with her and maybe teach her how to ‘toughen up’ and don't act like too much of a doormat to other people.

this is just one of the many more ideas i have for them and i'll share my other ones sooner or later, because i don't typically like making posts that are so long like this and i'm afraid it'll get even wayyy longer before i can even reach five ideas lmaoao. i'm planning on making analyses on both individual characters (from what we've seen from them so far and giving more insight to what i've said earlier in this post) too so there's that!!
