Is this a real show?

And can you explain the story line? (If you can!) Because I'm confused on who the characters are 😭

It is a real show :oD It's currently in development, I'll be making shorts with my team. I'm also doing fun little animated/animatic/illustration stuff in anticipation for it and in between episodes :o3

⏰️helloo, I'm currently trying to make a post on another site explaining all of what's currently known about dawm so that it's easier for me to explain it to people, and I just wanted to ask if it's okay for me to be doing that (I would still be adding the fact that it was created by you, boundaries for the project, ect.). also if it is okay then if there's any tips or bits of information about the characters or just about the project in general that you think I should add to the post then I'd be glad to hear them :)

Are the characters of DAWM based on Disney movies?

If anything, the Dreamalong characters are somewhat subversions from how sterile Disney movies/characters tropes are... There are significant reasons behind why they look the way they do, but it's a secret for now :o)

When creating the concept for DAWM, and like most projects when going through the development phase, has it gone through any name changes before eventually settling on the title it has now?

I am miserable at coming up with titles, it was just called "Earl's Story" for a LONG time HAHAHA I played around with the titles Midnight Boogie and Sleeper Valley for a while but they did not have the vibe I quite wanted... I used these names elsewhere in the story for places/characters though :oD

Apologies if this ask come off as very idiotic or insensitive, so please do feel free to either ignore or delete this ask if so. But, do you have any worries or concerns once whenever Dream along with me releases? Such as rip-offs, content farms, or people taking the characters and molding them into something they’re not, etc?

My project hasn't been released yet and my poor characters have already been through things, ha! The sad part about putting anything out onto the internet is that people are going to take it and abuse it for any reason they see fit. It's something I think every creator must come to terms with. I have my boundaries out there in the open and it gets pinned every now and then, but I do not expect people to be respectful. I just block them if they're not or if they say any especially bad take.

You know what they can't do? They can't look into our mind or see what we're thinking or know what we're going to do next :o) They haven't walked a mile in these shoes or led the lives we've lived, so they can't really create things quite like what we're making. Not really! No one can ever really take away our art from us. We have an infinite capacity to create!

How did your artstyle get to how it is now? Just asking because your style feels so inspirational :3

Oh wow! Thank you for saying it's inspirational, haha!! :'o) <3 It wasn't easy... it took many years, but I allowed myself a lot of time to experiment and think on the kind of art I wanted to make.

Ease of animation, allowing myself to draw what I thought was fun and scratched my creative itch, and thinking of the art that stuck with me is what I think influenced my style the most. Making a mental note of what I liked about my favorite media and playing around with those elements was part of the process.

I think, most importantly, I also thought of the art I wanted to see more of in the world, and I made it for myself, even if no one else saw it or even if they hated it! If it's something you want to eventually share with the world, people that like the same things will eventually find you and you can be buddies :o)

Why does Teddy have stiches around his neck?

Ah! Well, on one hand, he is a soft plushie rabbit man, so I made some stitchings on him more apparent. As for why those stitches and pattern in particular... You know how some magicians had acts where they apparently dismembered themselves? ',:o)

Hi!! We really like DAWM and have an Archie fictive who's currently hyperfixated on it. So I wanted to ask if we could get some fun facts about him? :3

Oooo! I would absolutely be delighted to give you some Archie Fun Facts :oD Apologies if any of these are repeats.

Archie is the puppet personification of an Unreachable Wishing Star. He was very consciously designed to look like a generic friendly little muppet despite this though; he is making a conscious effort to look as normal as a guy can in the setting he's in.

He looks cuddly but he does not actually like being touched by puppets he does not know!

He's a large presence in his friend group and in the town as The Errant Storyteller, but despite his status, he is still very alone.

He goes on long walks through the town and countryside at night in search of a fresh new tale or to think, but sometimes he'll bump into other nocturnal friends such as Mae and Earl and will be all too glad for their company. :o)

He's a regular patron of Ernie's Maraschino Milk Bar-- his favorite milk to get is the "Fairy Milk", which is warm milk with honey, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. (Try it! It tastes like ice cream and it's great for making you sleepy!)

He enjoys tending to his friends and their needs; he loves them dearly. He does not give himself the same care.
