Look, I'm an old fart. I've been voting since the day they gave me the right, and back then I lived in a place where casting a blue vote was perhaps the most pointless thing you could do, but I did it anyways.

For better or worse, my voice will be heard, it will be counted, and it will be weighed when analysts look at the data, craft strategies and advise candidates. There is no issue that is too shitty, no stance too controversial, no situation so hopeless to get me to not vote at all. For better or worse, my little grain of sand will be counted and considered.

Anyone encouraging you to not be heard is trying to take away your power. Don't let them.

Beyond that, decide on what matters to you, and vote that way. For me, it's clear who is going to allow me to continue to live my polyandrous LGBTQA+ lifestyle in peace, so that's how I'll vote. That's what's important to me. Everything else is secondary. I have first hand experience in governmental discrimination, and I have no desire to see it at a federal level.

Give me candidates that support my ability to live who want to put pressure on the Israeli government, and I'll vote for them. Yes totally normal *rolls eyes*

Inherently? No. The standard friction fit insertion model of electrical plugs didn't have much of a viable alternate until recently. Wireless charging has been a proposed solution for quite a long time, but it wasn't very efficient by comparison (still isn't).

Contacts have always been possible without "insertion" but for obvious reasons they aren't very stable. Recent advances in high powered magnets have made them more of an option, but they are still much more expensive to make than the standard friction plugs.

I don't think most people think of it in that way, so a cultural shift won't make any sizeable impact in anything. And that's assuming a wide-scale shift, which is highly unlikely due to the same efficiency/cost issues that are inherit to alternate solutions.

Though if anyone knows of an alternate solution that isn't more expensive or less efficient than a standard friction insertion socket, let me know. But at present I have yet to see any.
