Our Favorite Under-$50 Sunglasses for Fall
The start of a new season always beckons for a replenishment of closet staples. Such is the case with autumn. Tailored blazers, smart slacks, cozy sweaters, cute ankle boots—the list goes on. And while we'd love to freely buy each and every single one of these laundry list items from all of our favorite designers, realistically we have to draw the line somewhere. Whether it's allocating more budget to a classic designer item this year, like a gorgeous leather boot, and opting for more budget-friendly options for something like a button-down shirt or a pencil skirt for the office—it's all about compromise. Thus, we sifted through our inventory of items we want to buy right now and landed on sunglasses as the category we could feasibly spend less on at the moment. Thankfully, once committing to this endeavor we were delighted to find that there are actually plenty of affordable options available right now that not only feel relevant for 2018 but also don't look cheap—win, win! To see what we mean, scroll down for our edit of 20 sunnies for fall that all ring in at under $50.

3 Fall Footwear Must-Haves
This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I received product to review and was provided monetary compensation.
Tumblr media
With Fall just around the corner, it’s time to stock up on the shoes you’ll need for the season – especially since Kohl’s is currently having a major sale right now on most sandals (they’re all $39.99!)
Last year, I was so excited for the season that I jumped in a little too quickly. What!? I know. I went straight for the close-toed booties and OTK boots and completely neglected transitional styles. Then winter came, we got 4 feet of snow in April, and I promised myself I’d properly prepare and enjoy each morsel of fall.
Which brings us to this moment that I’m taking full advantage of! This fall, you’ll find me in open-toed heels, caged booties, and the sandals I’ve been living in all summer.
Heeled Sandals
Yes, you’ve been wearing these to every wedding you’ve been to this summer but since madden NYC came out with a suede option, these are perfectly acceptable to wear into fall, as well.
Over the past few years, I’ve ditched stilettos in efforts to improve my knee issues and gravitated towards thicker heels like this pair. These heels are super comfy while still being super stylish.
I’d stock up on this heel while you can. This style isn’t going anywhere and you can’t beat the price.
Caged Booties
I’ve never been a huge caged bootie fan and honestly, I’ve been missing out. I’ve never been able to find quite the right pair that are cute and comfortable without cutting off my ankle, making my legs look shorter than they are. At 5’8” it might seem like a non-issue but I was never satisfied with how they looked. I took a shot in the dark after seeing this version online at Kohl’s and they’re a game changer. The cute caged pattern and the chunky heel drew me in and the comfort has me 100% recommending this bootie!
Sandals
I’ve been wearing these sandals 5/7 days a week this summer. Seriously. They are insanely comfy and extremely high quality making them the perfect option for a quick lunch with friends or dressing down a date night look. The colors and styles offered at Kohl’s makes them a great option for transitioning into fall.
If you had to pick one style, which would you choose?
Lucky for you, Kohl’s (is having a huge sale on all madden NYC right now so you don’t have to choose just one! Happy shopping!

YEEZY Sales Are Down. Way Down.
Maybe Kanye West’s sneakers aren’t for everybody. The imploding multi-hyphenate released two new colorways of popular models last month — the predecessors of which sold out in seconds — and the once-ravenous market responded with a collective shrug.
As reported by HighSnobiety, “YEEZY supply outweighing demand was almost unimaginable after [West’s] hookup with adidas… in February 2015,” even though the designer repeatedly promised to “bring YEEZYs to the masses.” However, now that he’s getting closer to fulfilling that goal, “people aren’t talking about it as much as [most] would have predicted.”
As the story notes, “widespread availability clashes with the idea of a limited release model,” and his last two offerings — the Cream 350 V2 and the Mauve 700 — were such bricks that they “sat [for days] in adidas’ YEEZY webstore before being pulled.” Currently, those in the market for either pair can find them on StockX for less than their retail price.
“West’s products have always been driven by scarcity and the subsequent high resale value,” one analyst said. And now that scarcity is being removed from the equation, the value is suffering.
Also contributing to the decline in popularity, the story speculates, is West’s recent alt-right turn. According to one analyst, it’s probably not helpful that his “fans don’t [always] support what he’s doing.”
You can read more about it at Highsnobiety.

7 Reasons Why You Should Opt In a Bridal Session
Today we’re joined by Anna + Mateo to talk about why bridal sessions are on the rise, and why in particular, they might be right for YOU. Not only are bridal sessions incredibly multi-purpose if you have the right strategy in place, they can provide a wonderful keepsake for you, your partner or even your family members long after the fact. But this is just the start! They can save you a headache and a half with regards to your wedding day timeline too. Let’s hear the rest straight from the source, shall we?
From the photographer, Anna + Mateo: Deciding to book a bridal photo session may seem a little old-fashioned or like just another thing to add to your schedule and wedding budget, but as destination wedding photographers who have seen it all, we promise that it’s something you won’t regret, for these seven reasons.
1. Take advantage of your hair and makeup trial:
There’s nothing worse than getting all dressed up with nowhere to go! We always recommend getting a hair and makeup trial before your big day so that you can make sure you and your stylist are on the same page and that you like the styles you’ve selected, so why not take advantage of being all done up and get your photos done after?! It’s the perfect way to see how your whole ensemble will come together, and you won’t feel like your trial was a waste.
2. Shake off those pre-wedding jitters ahead of time:
There will be so much less to be worried about on your wedding day when you’ve already seen yourself in your full attire and know that you have plenty of gorgeous images ahead of time. Bridal sessions allow all of this to happen in a low-pressure setting, where you can choose your lighting, schedule, and timeline.
3. Show off your floral mock up:
In the same vein as reason #1, if you’re spending the money on a floral mock up, you might as well get gorgeous photographs of your florals and tie together your bridal look for photos.
4. Wedding Look Preview:
A bridal session is the perfect time to see how everything photographs and have time for adjustments if some of the smaller details aren’t quite right. Maybe you felt like flowy beach waves was going to be the perfect look for your wedding, until you saw how the humidity took over by the end of the photo session, so you’d know to opt for an updo for your wedding day!
5. Gather Your Bridal Details:
Streamline your wedding day timeline by gathering your beautiful bridal details and allowing your photographer to take photos of them ahead of time. This will give you a chance to get lovely images of your beautiful wedding shoes before breaking them in. This will also help you make sure you don’t forget any details on your wedding day!
6. Take advantage of a second location:
Do you love that staircase across town but know you’d never be able to fit in the location for portraits on your wedding day with traffic? A bridal session is the perfect opportunity to receive a gorgeous set of wedding photographs in a different location.
7. Invite Your Groom and Make it a Party!:
While you can choose to make it your shining bridal moment and bask in the excitement that comes along with that, many brides choose to invite their grooms to their bridal portrait session. It’s a great chance to photograph your first look, and you’ll go into your wedding with a lot less stress, knowing that you already have many lovely photographs taken ahead of time!
Who would have thought bridal sessions could be so multi-functional? Not only do they allow you to twirl around like an Old Hollywood star in your gown for a little bit longer and give you even more photos to frame or share with your friends + family, they take the pressure off the wedding day. The timeline, the getting ready location, your entire bridal look… you name it! So take advantage of a bridal session and let us know how it goes in the comments below!

Rustic, Relaxed, Autumnal Wedding… Inspired by Cheese, Coffee and Wrestling!
Steve and Justine’s wedding day was a full of surprises, for the couple and their guests. The whole groom’s party had to spend the morning of the wedding moving everything inside as they were hit by a snowstorm – in October! Steve’s gift to Justine was two replica WWE tag team championship belts. Instead of traditional champagne for welcome drinks, they served coffee that was ground by the couple themselves. They announced their pregnancy during their speeches, and had a grime/rap artist as their evening entertainment!
They weren’t focusing on being different for the sake of being so, though – their inspiration was to take all the things they loved and fit them all in somehow. With the countryside, music, their families, wrestling, cheese, beer and coffee as sources of inspiration, their day as as eclectic and personal to them as could be.
Their ceremony was created specifically for them, and included stories of things that were important to them, their past and their future, and sentimental readings by friends and family. It was important to them to be able to include the ones they loved in their day in many ways, so wherever possible, they hired the services and expertise of those they loved – almost every ‘supplier’ was actually a friend or family member.
Justine’s lace dress was another surprise – it came from ASOS! “I’d tried dresses on in a bridal shop and hated every single one of them,” she explained, “so instead decided to splash out on accessories and kitting out the bridesmaids.” She paired it with the Crown and Glory x Rock n Roll Bride Secret Garden Veil and Dr Marten boots, and together with Steve bought matching slogan denim jackets from Speech Development Records. The bridesmaid dresses were a mix and match affair from all over the high street – meaning each girl could rock whatever she felt comfortable in, as long as it came in blush pink!
While they made some savings, they didn’t mind splashing out on the things that mattered most; the biggest extravagance was their cheese tower wedding cake; standing at over 4ft tall and consisting of over 45kg of cheese! The couple DIY’d every piece of decoration and stationery, which not only saved them money, but also allowed them to get creative and enjoy the things they loved together.
As much as they enjoyed working on all the little details together, Stevie and Justine do wish they’d known quite how stressful it was going to be to think about all the logistics and finishing touches in the run up to the big day. “What we’ve learned though,” said Justine, “is that these little things that seem so important beforehand, will just not matter once the wedding is over. As lovely as they are, if an element doesn’t go to plan, try not to let it stress you out. At the end of the day, all your memories will be of the people, not the things.”

40.7128° N, 74.0060° W
"Initially, Perry Ellis America was Mr. Ellis’ answer to his personal need for true, weekend casual wear" - Perry Ellis Creative Director, Michael Maccari
Reading Time: 1 minute
The 90’s was a time where sportswear reigned supreme and the vibrant, colour blocking, oversized casual style was spotted on every street corner in major city.
Many brands have established roots during this time and one of them is Perry Ellis, who relaunched their Perry Ellis America brand a few weeks ago.
Originally launched in 1984, the unisex collection will revisit many of the classic pieces that were released in the past, along with the inclusion of updated logos and contemporary colour blocking. The limited edition 12-piece capsule collection consisted of reissued nylon tracksuits, washed denim, outerwear, logo-heavy fleeces, and tees.
You can pick up pieces from the collection on Matches Fashion, HBX, Bloomingdale’s, and Ron Robinson at Fred Segal.
Take a closer look at collection online at Perry Ellis America.

Beloved Fashion Blogger Kyrzayda Succumbs to Cancer But Slays to Her Last Day
By Ta-Ning Connai
While watching American Idol one night back in 2009, I heard the most beautiful song; a song full of enough power to put the meaning of life and death in its proper perspective. 'Live Like You're Dying' was about waking up to the reality that life is short, tomorrow may never come and that it is of the utmost urgency to live everyday with unrestricted abandon, as if it were your last. And although I'd heard variations of that same message many times before, none seemed to have such an inspirational impact on me like that lyrical life lesson did. Nine years later, I can't say I have fully and consistently manifested that mantra in my life and I can't say that I've been an eyewitness to anyone else that embodied the entirety of those words either...until lifestyle and fashion blogger, Kyrzayda Rodriguez invited us on her incredible journey of living life while she was dying. Continue
In 2013, the Dominican diva entered the social media stratosphere. It wouldn't be long before her impeccable style, infectious personality and glowing spirit made her an instant influencer all around the world, garnering her close to half a million Instagram followers to date. Many of her fans cite her dazzling beauty and creativity as their initial draw, but were quick to often mention that her willingness to share her faith in Jesus with such ease and grace is what made their hearts soar and keep them coming back.
However, in October 2017, things would dramatically change. While the gram is often used to show one's best foot forward and to invite people into a controlled environment reeking with the illusion of glamorous perfection, Kyrzayda decided to share with her faithful supporters that she had not been feeling well, which led to her getting some tests done. In the days to follow, before the startling news had even had a chance to sink in, she revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer and that the battle of a lifetime was about to begin.
This monumental moment was the beginning of a journey Kyrzayda didn't plan, expect or choose, yet she embraced it with ferocious dignity and determination. The NY based blogger would suddenly become a beacon of hope and example of tremendous will, reaching far beyond her fashionista platform.
It can be so utterly painful to watch someone battle a life-threatening disease, but in the case of Kyrzayda, it was more like beholding courage personified. Yes, she expressed sorrow when forced to shave her crowning glory, but it was her strength that shook us. When her body become frail, she spoke honestly about her hard time initially accepting the drastic change. But, then she lovingly schooled the world on the superficiality of outer beauty once she learned to love the real her lying deep beyond the flesh and bones. When she felt sick, she said so, while still uplifting her followers. And when she brought the chemo to an end because it wasn't going as planned, she asked for our support and understanding.
But MY GOD MY GOD, this woman continued to take fierceness to a whole ‘nother level! She didn't hide in shame and she didn't give cancer an easy win. She fought the presence of defeat by continuing to work as much as she could, serving us 100% slay to the likes of which have never been seen before. Kyrzayda proved that true love can supersede time and space and that it can be felt even amongst strangers along the World Wide Web. Every post was filled with appreciation and gratefulness for her followers, her family and most importantly, God. She showed us that death can be met with peace and that a short life on earth can leave a long lasting legacy when lived with purpose and sacrifice. Kyrzayda sacrificed her privacy in order to show us how to do what we love NOW and to do it as a blessing for others and not just ourselves. Ms. Rodriguez passed away on September 9th, and will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and so many of us. If there's anything to help through the pain, I hope it would be the sharing in her love for God and the joyful realization that this precious angel has been welcomed into Heaven and greeted by the words that we all hope to one day hear…
"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” - Matthew 25:21
Does Kyrzayda's journey inspire you to live a fuller life?

Helm Personal Email Server
Even the largest companies can be hacked: just ask Google and Facebook. The Helm Personal Email Server wants to keep your email, calendar, and contacts more secure by hosting them at your own home. The A-shaped server plugs in near your router and connects to Helm's service to get a static IP address. You access your data via commonly used protocols from the apps of your choice, and all your data stays on the device. In addition to the above, the company plans on adding Dropbox-like file sharing and syncing, VPN, and chat/messaging services in the future, meaning it will only become more valuable — and replace more of your potentially vulnerable web-based services — over time.

Sephora brushes are without a doubt one of the best on the market. They are an eye-catching mix of amazing designs complemented by a high-quality craftsmanship that is hard to miss. Whether made out of synthetic or natural bristles, you will find all types of brushes on a Sephora set including the highlight fan brush, the angled brush, the concealer brush, and the powder brush just to mention a few. The best Sephora brushes not only complete your makeup toolkit but also provide an easier way to travel light considering they can be packed compactly with ease.
The best Sephora brushes
1. SEPHORA COLLECTION Tools Of The Trade Brush Set
The Sephora Tools of the Trade Brush set has eight high-quality brushes for your complexion, eyes, and cheeks. These include the powder brush, smudge brush, a brow comb/brush, and a precision shadow brush just to mention a few. Their small but manageable size makes them easily packable and a nice traveling brush set.
Also, this brush set is affordable and comes with a return option if it is not satisfactory. Nonetheless, with the ability to apply any formula, color, or give a whole new look, it is hard to see any reason why this product would be nothing less than the perfect brush set. Each brush has the Sephora imprinted on it as the custom pouch that conveniently stores all eight brushes. For best results, it is recommended that you cleanse these brushes with the daily brush cleaner and use the solid brush cleaner for solid cleaning.

2. SEPHORA COLLECTION Two Ways About It Brush Set
The best thing about the two ways about it brush set is it gives you two ways to go about applying your makeup. With a golden design and a firm handle in the middle, each brush on this set has bristles on either end hence the name, two ways about it. The handles are made out of champagne gold molten metal giving this six-piece face, and eye brush set an elegant look.
Also, this brush set from Sephora comes with custom storage; a specially designed vegan leather brush with a classy design. The quilted roll clutch is pink in color and is not big for convenience sake. They might be six brushes, but each brush comes with another; the smudge brush comes with the precision liner, the foundation brush is flat on one end and pointed at the other, and buffing blush comes with the blush brush.
3. SEPHORA COLLECTION Deluxe Antibacterial Brush Set
The Deluxe Antibacterial Brush Set has seven brushes ideal for people with sensitive skin. These include a flat eyeliner, concealer, angle eyeshadow, and the powder brush just to mention a few. These brushes are treated using advanced antimicrobial technology, which plays a significant role in keeping them fresh for an extended period.
The hypoallergenic and non-toxic compound used on every brush is responsible for attacking and destroying any harmful bacteria. Deluxe Antibacterial Brushes are also soft thanks to their synthetic fibers which help distribute the perfect amount of makeup for a fantastic result every time. They come with a gray/silver faux cracked leather pouch for easy storage.
4. SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Essentials Brush Set
The Essentials Brush Set has not only 11 of the best-selling and top-rated brushes from Sephora but also features some of their latest invention; the Pro Complexion Fan Brush #54. This brush set is ideally a collection of some of Sephora’s best brushes including the Pro Blending #27, Pro Contour #79, Pro Featherweight Complexion #90, and the Pro Shadow #14.
These brushes also come with an Easel Style brush holder and a black pouch. For cleansing, use the daily brush cleaner or the solid brush cleaner for solid cleaning. Despite being an exclusive and limited edition, this brush set is affordable and guarantees excellent value for money. If you are looking to collect some of the best brush sets from Sephora without having to buy a set at a time, you can get the whole package in the Pro Essentials Brush Set.

5. SEPHORA COLLECTION Deluxe Charcoal Antibacterial Brush Set
Other than being an active agent in teeth whitening, charcoal can also be used to keep your makeup brushes fresh for an extended period. Its antimicrobial properties are infused in the soft synthetic bristles to help this six-piece brush set provide the ideal blend and cover for any formula whether dry or wet. Unlike most other brushes on the list, the Deluxe Charcoal Antibacterial set features a mixture of big and small brushes.
The biggest is the foundation brush which helps lay the foundation more evenly and quickly thanks to its wide shape and can also be used as a sanitized face mask applier. On the other hand, the precision sweep brush has a flat shape that comes in handy when highlighting your face. Lastly, all the brushes in this set are suitable for people with sensitive skin thanks to the formula used in their production.
6. SEPHORA COLLECTION SU Easel Brush Set
The SU Easel Brush Set is another collector’s item from Sephora that features the best brushes to have ever graced the market. This set contains 26 professional grade Sephora Collection Pro Brushes that come in handy for makeup artist professionals. These brushes include the Pro Air Brush #55, the Pro Tapered Crease Brush #19, the Pro Brow #20, and the Pro Precision Concealer #73 just to mention a few. The Sephora SU Easel Brush Set draws its inspiration from the set used in University classes and clients throughout select stores. The best of these brushes are included in this set that also comes with a standing Easel pouch for convenience and easy traveling. This product is also exclusive and limited edition but has release schedules and can be shipped overseas.
Conclusion
One reason why some people opt against purchasing Sephora brush sets is their allegedly high price. But if anything, most ( if not all ) of the brush sets on this list are not only affordable but also come with unique features that help them not only last long but also protect your skin from any bacterial infections. Also, they provide a variety of options ensuring that you do not waste time cleaning the same brush just to use it to apply another shade.

Art Collective Colectivo Moriviví Is Painting Political Murals Throughout Puerto Rico
In Puerto Rico, the Moriviví — which in Spanish means “to die and live” — is one of the land’s natural marvels. Upon touch, the leaves of this perennial plant species close, appearing lifeless. Moments later, they reopen, almost as if the flora had been born again.
Like the samsaric plant, Colectivo Moriviví — an art collective of young women on the island — hopes to breathe a new fighting spirit into a people and country fatigued by economic, political, and natural disasters, by using paint and brushes to make murals.
The group came together in 2013, when Chachi González, 23, Joy Díaz Marty, 23, and Raysa Raquel Rodríguez García, 23, were high school students at San Juan’s Escuela Especializada Central de Artes Visuales. The young women united to participate in Santurce Es Ley 4, a popular urban arts festival in Puerto Rico, and they became Colectivo Moriviví after an organizer, who was fond of what he saw, asked them to come up with a name. Ever since, the collective has grown into a popular artistic front known for creating bold, anticolonial feminist public art across the archipelago.
After Hurricane Maria ravaged the island, two members were forced to continue their college studies elsewhere, bringing their political art to Puerto Rican neighborhoods in the contiguous U.S. Joy remains in Massachusetts, but the group, believing in the curative power of art, has since returned to making murals on the island, which its members hope will help their compatriots heal from the trauma dealt by the storm.
A mural by Colectivo Moriviví.
With community support and participation, the young women have addressed timely issues in their work, such as gender-based violence, reproductive and sexual liberation, climate change, anti-Black racism, colonialism, and U.S. neoliberalism. They view their art as one component of a larger revolutionary women’s movement taking hold in Puerto Rico.
“Like in many countries, the women here are treated as minorities, and right now the barrios are resisting against that, and we are a part of that movement. We work in solidarity with other women, teaming up to do art that uplifts the activist efforts they are leading,” Chachi tells Teen Vogue at the Academia Bautista Puerto Nuevo, where the group is working on an education mural. “I think this is the solution to our country’s problems: uniting,” Raysa adds.
The painting they were working on includes themes of nature, youth, and womanhood, with a tree representing the knowledge passed down to students by a beloved teacher who has instructed at the school for 40 years. With Afro-descendant members, the collective also addresses the topic of race, particularly Black womanhood.
“For a long time here, we’ve practiced blanqueamiento, where people of color married white people in an effort to lose their blackness. As a country and culture, we’ve been trying to get rid of the African legacy that’s involved in the process of Puerto Rico’s colonization,” Chachi says. “And while we might not practice this as consciously as we did in the past, this way of thinking has left a mark on the psyche of the Puerto Rican people, and even in the way we represent ourselves. So for us to change that imagination, we are intentional about representing Black womanhood.”
One of Colectivo Moriviví’s most-talked-about murals is Paz Para la Mujer (“Peace for the Woman”), which was painted in 2015 as a collaboration with an anti-domestic-violence organization of the same name, to call attention to gender-based violence. In the mural, full-figured nude Black women are seen covering their faces while in a forest of monarch butterflies, with the insects used to represent three Dominican sisters, the Mirabals, who are often referred to as “las mariposas,” or “the butterflies.” The sisters were murdered by dictator Rafael Trujillo in 1960, sparking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
As members of the collective were painting, several passersby stopped to cheer and give their support. Others expressed offense at the nude imagery. Months later, vandals defaced the mural, drawing undergarments on the women’s bodies.
“People were upset about the nudity in a public space, and specifically the type of nude body: It was a Black woman who didn’t have a perfect body. One of her breasts was bigger than the other, to reflect many women’s natural bodies,” Chachi says.
Following the desecration, the community came to the collective’s defense, with several women protesting in front of the mural topless. It spurred a much-needed conversation on censorship, female sexual agency, and violence.
Community has always driven the work of Colectivo Moriviví. For the group, art is to be created for the people and with the people. This is why community members take part in brainstorming meetings, ultimately deciding the themes for the group’s pieces, and many of them, particularly youth and elders, participate in painting the walls. Not only is this vital to ensuring that the voice and spirit of the barrio is included in the art, but the artists say it’s also a process that is curative for the people.
“It’s healing for them and it’s also a form of empowerment for them. It shows them what they’re able to achieve when they have the tools to do so,” Raysa says.
Through murals, as opposed to gallery art, the women believe they are bringing to everyday Puerto Ricans important themes that are also easily digestible.
“It’s a way to do art that is accessible. While museums are public, and here in Puerto Rico they’re not very expensive, there’s a distinction between classes that go to museums and who feel comfortable going and those who don’t. While outside on a wall, it’s for everyone,” Chachi says.
Ultimately, Colectivo Moriviví would like to create a grassroots training program to teach muralism as activism to other young women. While the group's members explore ways to fund and support the new endeavor, they have already accepted their first apprentice, a recent high school graduate who is gaining academic, hands-on experience working with the collective.
“When we leave high school, we have to unlearn all these ideologies we were taught that you realize are wrong,” Chachi says. “It’s heavy and it’s difficult, so we think to start understanding this earlier, through art, is better.”

End of Summer Style + Things We Did & Loved
All of a sudden Labor Day is over and it feels like summer is too! The thing is, in Southern California, the weather doesn’t switch over that quickly. I’ve been celebrating end of summer style with easy dresses and sandal outfits that work for hot September days. I love this floral dress in particular because I feel like it looks fall appropriate with the color scheme. And I’m not sure if you can tell but the flutter sleeves and tiered skirt are such pretty details. Sharing some of my end of summer style faves below if you want to take a look!
This round wicker bag was a standout for me this summer! It went with everything and I can’t wait to wear it for years to come.
Can you tell how pretty the flutter sleeves are??
When thinking of end of summer style, choose easy transitional dresses see some favorites below. You want to stay cool, so sometimes a dress is the best way to do that! I think this one, in particular, will transition really well for fall with a cardigan sweater and ankle booties.
I’m sad to say goodbye to summer, although I’m really excited for fall since it’s my favorite season! I’m looking back at the things I loved most about this summer and I’d have to say it’s all the time we spent together as a family. We didn’t do everything on our summer bucket list, but we made a good attempt! I’m so glad we were able to make some fun trips, like going to San Diego for the 4th of July and Lake Tahoe for Labor Day. We spend hot summer evenings at the beach, ate dinners outside, and were busy growing herbs and vegetables in our garden. While we had a good summer, to be honest, it was a little too hot for me, and being pregnant in my first trimester didn’t help! I’m definitely looking forward to cooler fall days, whenever Mother Nature gets the memo!
SHOP THE POST
dress . sandals similar . bag . chunky bangle . thin bangle . black stone bangle .
When looking for dresses that would help me transition from summer to fall, I was so surprised at all the great options I had. Seriously, there are so many pretty dresses available right now. And the best part? So many of them are on sale! Hopefully, you can refresh your wardrobe a bit without having to break the bank!

Tom Ford’s Spring 2019 Runway was Packed With Brand New Bag Designs in Soft, Gorgeous Leather
You can divide all handbag lovers into basically two groups: people who are more interested in trends and people who are more interested in longevity. In recent years, the trend people have been winning, as the luxury accessories industry pumps out fun, not-so-functional mini bags, fanny packs, highly embellished pieces, and logo bags. If you're just looking for a neutral, functional, luxurious work bag to carry for the next year or two, things haven't been quite as exciting. If you take a look at Tom Ford's Spring 2019 runway, though, you might find cause for optimism.
In contrast to the colorful, highly embellished, heavily beaded bags on Ford's Fall 2018 runway, this group was notably more subtle. Also notable was the fact that the bags in question were all new designs for the brand, including camera, tote and hobo styles. The camera bags were all in what I'm assuming was embossed croc, while the totes and hobos were made of incredibly soft-looking smooth leather. They were big and simple, with the only branding being a small bit of hardware in the shape of an inverted T, plus the designer's initials in small print.
The bags' designs are restrained and mature, but not old-feeling because the details are kept very clean. They're perfect for the office or errands, which is likely where most shoppers take their bags, anyway. Check out all the bags from the runway below.

Our Secret to Scoring the Most Chic Holiday Party Looks
It wouldn’t be the holiday season without a calendar full of events, would it? From office parties to ladies-only parties to sparkly parties for two, ’tis the season to don your festive wear! But with all the gifts to be bought and stockings to fill, we’re always on the lookout for outfits with style + staying power that won’t break the bank. So…we’re going to let you guys in on our holiday fashion secret. It’s called high-low style and it’s changing the way we fill our closet. The idea is mixing high fashion with low priced items to fill out the look, and no one understands this concept better than…wait for it…Walmart.com! YES, really.
Hear us out—did you know that Walmart.com carries premium brand shops from Lord & Taylor like Calvin Klein, Lucky and Tommy Hilfiger? Mix that in with everyday shops like Maurices and high-low fashion is the easiest (and most affordable) way to get some seriously fresh looks for the holidays. And to make things even sweeter, Walmart.com is extending an extra 30% off items found in the Lord & Taylor Premium Brands Shop now through December 13th! We love shopping online and with their free 2-day shipping on so many items, it’s the perfect spot for last minute holiday shopping!
Convinced yet? We put together five looks for your holiday parties that we’d rock—and you might be pleasantly surprised by what we’ve found…take a look!

When you wanna look cute but comfort is key: Hard to choose between the cozy sweater dress and the flattering jumpsuit—so we went with both! It’s the perfect work-to-evening look for a chilly night out with friends.
Floral Dress – $38.50 // 14kt Yellow Gold Hoops – $260.99 // Beige Clutch – $4.99 // Leather Black Ankle-High Boot – $129.95
When you’re a summer girl who also loves holiday magic: This dress and these booties are a match made in heaven. And us California girls kinda love the fact that this look could transition from eggnog to margarita!
Navy Velvet Sheath Dress – $132.30 // Ankle Strap Faux Suede Pumps – $29.99 // Gold Tassel Fringe Earrings – $19.60 // Beaded Clutch – $39
When the invitation says to keep it classy: Because when it’s cuffing season, nothing begs for cozy cuddles by the fireplace like a velvet sheath dress.

Virgil Abloh's First Louis Vuitton Drop Is Here
Hello BoF Professionals, welcome to our latest members-only briefing: The Week Ahead. Think of it as your "cheat sheet" to what everyone will be talking about on Monday.
THE CHEAT SHEET
Louis Vuitton Embraces the Drop
Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2019 show | Source: Getty
Virgil Abloh's debut collection for Louis Vuitton went on sale via a one-week pop-up in London
Vuitton is trying the drop model for the first time with an entire mainline collection
Burberry, Fendi, Celine and Moncler are also experimenting with drops
Select shoppers are getting their first crack at Abloh's Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection for Louis Vuitton at the brand's first product drop. Pioneered by Hiroshi Fujiwara before being popularised by the likes of Supreme, drops — or controlled releases of new products at a clip that’s far faster than the traditional fashion cycle — are designed to drive consumer excitement with a stream of constant newness. Other luxury players are testing similar waters. But the trick will be balancing the community-fueled energy of streetwear drops, which often attract hordes of young fans, with a luxury-like shopping experience.
The Bottom Line: Too much "street" and luxury drops risk diluting carefully cultivated brand equity, but reducing them to glorified private shopping appointments could miss the magic of turning a product release into a genuine event that energises fans of the brand to show up and post on social media.
China Throws a Wrench Into Kering's 'Progressive Normalisation'
A Gucci store in China | Source: Shutterstock
Kering will report third-quarter earnings on Tuesday
Kering CFO said in April to expect “progressive normalisation” after explosive growth
Luxury stocks have plunged on fears the Chinese government will enforce a $700 limit on spending abroad
Until recently, Kering’s financial performance was as predictable as a Girard-Perregaux watch. But after years of soaring sales, on the back of white-hot Gucci, Balenciaga and the booming China luxury trade, Kering is preparing for the inevitable comedown. It’s sensible to let a little air out of the luxury bubble; Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri isn’t wrong when he tells store employees that no company can grow at the house's current torrid pace forever. But forces beyond Kering’s control threaten to pop the bubble entirely. China is cracking down on luxury imports, which could slim the sales impact of the country’s huge outbound tourist flows at Gucci flagships around the world. And the US-China trade war could sap consumer demand in China itself. Kering shares are down 29 percent from June’s all-time high, part of a broader swoon in luxury stocks.
The Bottom Line: European luxury brands are largely at the mercy of Chinese authorities and US president Donald Trump; they don’t have an obvious alternative customer if Chinese tourists stop loading up on handbags while on holiday.
H&M Hopes Lightning Strikes Twice With Moschino
Aquaria modelling H&M X Moschino | Source: Instagram/@itsjeremyscott
Jeremy Scott’s Moschino collection for H&M debuts in a New York fashion show Wednesday
H&M’s designer collaborations started with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004; Balmain's 2015 collection was widely considered the most successful
Collections are limited and typically sell out fast but success is measured in media impressions
In keeping with the Moschino brand, everything about H&M’s latest designer collaboration is sure to be a little extra. H&M, which does about one of these a year, is clearly hoping to recreate the magic of its Balmain collaboration in 2015, which succeeded with the only measure that counts: social media impressions (#hmbalmaination was tagged 73,000 times on Instagram, #hmoschino has 2,000 so far though that's sure to rise between Wednesday's show and items going on sale November 8). These collaborations are no-brainers for luxury brands, which gain enormous exposure and a big payday while facing little stigma for briefly mingling with the masses. H&M has less to show for it - growth has slowed in the post-Balmain years.
The Bottom Line: For H&M, the success of its designer collaborations hinges on their ability to generate buzz and drive shoppers to stores where they inevitably pick up other items. But even if Moschino is a hit, repeating that success only grows harder as the brand is running out of blockbuster names.
COMMENTS OF THE WEEK
Hedi Slimane's debut collection for Celine | Source: InDigital
Anabel Maldonado's "Defense of Hedi Slimane" had the BoF community divided on the Celine designer's approach to women's fashion:
"Defenders of Slimane are stubbornly refusing to see the point - traditionally womenswear designers have been overwhelmingly male, and many would agree that the clothing has not always met every woman's needs. So when a man takes over a previously female led house that has been celebrated as an alternative to sexy dressing and turns it into cliche sex-wear, optics wise, it does appear the female voice has been silenced in favor of a man's." -Jessica Kosak
"The problem, it turns out, is not so much that men cannot tap into what women want but rather that some critics didn't like the conception of femininity that Slimane works with. But it is just that - one possible conception of femininity out of a myriad ways to imagine the dressed woman." -Frederik Højgaard

How a racy "dudoir" Christmas card turned into a new funny card tradition (and an engagement!)
Photos by Loree Photography
I heard a very silly tale that turned out to be pretty damned romantic that I just had to share. Alyssa saw a hilarious "dudoir" Christmas card that piqued her interest. This led to a new relationship, new tradition of creative Christmas cards, and an eventual proposal.
Here's the whole tale from Alyssa herself…
Steve was a bachelor who did a hilarious solo "dudoir" Christmas cards each year (see above!) while others around him sent out cards with babies and puppies. His sole reason was to make his friends and family laugh, but he received a lot more than that.
Alyssa was at a friend's house and saw Steve's 2015 card on her fridge. She had to meet the man behind the creativity, and after a couple months Steve invited Alyssa into the tradition for the last two years.
This Christmas is the third year, and the theme is…"Christmas 2018 has a nice ring to it." That's right, Steve proposed the day before the Christmas Card shoot! The chance spotting of Steve's Christmas card on a friends fridge has developed into wedding bells.
D'awww. Sweetest, goofiest couple ever. Here's the original card and their latest card which was post-engagement…
