29 July 2023- my abstract got accepted! i'm now working to turn it into a communicable paper, which involves going back and re-reading my sources on dramatic monologues and taking walks to locate pretty buildings as motivation (:

today was a lot and also nothing at the same time. I am straightening out housing for this fall which is stressful but good to get done. also have been cat sitting which is nice. my room is a mess. also, can’t leave the house often because of the smog coming down from canada. :(

but I got a little bit of reading done today and have been doing my best to be calm.

This week I was drowning in work but everything turned out well. I'm really happy with how the week went until now.

I’ve mostly just been reading - I finished Victorian Scientific Naturalism and took notes on it, and I’m now a bit more than ¾ of the way through A Century of Zoology at the British Museum Through the Lives of Two Keepers, 1815-1914. I’ve also been busy doing side project stuff and sending just…..so many emails. Both for research things and because of failed university admin things (as per usual).

Tomorrow is museum day, so I’ll be working on the collection, but I also need to finish a side project task and finish making a couple of new chapter plans/outlines to send to my supervisors.

I’m almost done with Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, and I don’t like it at all at this point, to be honest. I also started Star Trek: Deep Space 9, which is officially my favorite Star Trek series.

March 15th, 2023 | Went to another café, in a church mind you. Coffee was good, pastry was amazing, but sadly the place is a bit too noisy and I was not as productive as I expected.

08.03.2023. Currently reading Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. This is one of those books that's going to haunt me long after I'm done reading.

March 2nd, 2023 | Went to a cute little café this morning and I actually was productive! Loads of work to do for the following weeks, but it's nice to make it cosy 🌻

28 February 2023 / Have some pictures of Quex House! The library is the stuff of my dreams.

I didn’t accomplish a ton today, but I did send or draft multiple emails! I got confirmation that my supervisor will address reasonable adjustments for my upgrade viva, I sent my chapter to our coordinating PhD student for the chapter swap session next week, and read the seminar paper for tomorrow’s seminar. My supervisor also sent me a list of common viva questions, so in addition to continuing to work through the list I came up with, I also worked through some of those questions!

Tomorrow is museum day, so I’ll be transcribing specimen labels for most of the day. I’ll also go to the seminar, though I’ll probably skip the pub and work on a couple more viva questions instead.

I also finished Babel - I don’t think it was a satisfying book in the end, to be honest.
