Apollo was a cocky bastard. He insulted Eros. In turn, Eros shot him with a golden arrow, making him fall in love with the forest nymph Daphne. Daphne, he shot with a lead arrow, making her hate Apollo. Apollo continually followed her, begging her to stay, but the nymph continued to reject him. Seeing that Apollo was bound to reach her, she called upon her father, "Help me, Ladon! Open the earth to enclose me, or change my form, which has brought me into this danger! Let me be free of this man from this moment forward!" Ladon turned her into a laurel tree. . This piece is on someone's arm travelling to Italy. Pics when they get back :)

What's my style?⠀ ⠀ Honestly, it's still forming. I doubt it will ever be one thing. ⠀ ⠀ What I really enjoy?⠀ ⠀ ⚕️delicate and detailed designs.⠀ ⚕️organic shapes and imperfect geometry.⠀ ⚕️if the tattoo I'm poking is loaded with intention.⠀ ⚕️traditional Croatian designs.⠀ ⚕️big, phat and challenging designs. ⠀ ⚕️tattoing heads, ears, fingers, hands...⠀ ⠀ On the photo: lil yerba mate in process :) for @ineschatz 💜⠀

Vis ta vie . Fen came to town and brought the sunshine with her haha 🌞Seriously tho, you know those people. . It was this session that made me realize the value brought to people through my practice. The little spark I saw after spending the day together, sharing bits of our stories and gently poking the mantra: Vis Ta Vie. Live Your Life. Finally realized it was about the experience. . I strive for my practice to be slow, soft, more intentional, more human.  Cuz I’m tired my dude. Properly tired. And I know you’re tired as well. Fr, the rat race is sucking the soul out of our lives. Rarely we get to Live Our Lives. Most of us live in the potential of a Life. And you know what they say: You’re not dating the potential… . Keep resisting being pushed into the race. We’re not meant to be living like that. Slow the fuck down. It’s gonna be alright. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.  . Thank you again @mijnnaamisfennenietfenna 🙏 :) See you soon! 💜 (at Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Kolo . So, apparently, there's a Croatian diaspora in Indonesia. And then, you know, some of them found me here. Totally normal. Katya wanted to finally mark this part of her heritage and chose Kolo. The wheel. The mystery of fate, according to medieval interpretations of this symbol.  . The tradition of tattooing in Croatian Dalmatia (but largely in today's Bosnia and Herzegovina) is said to originate from the time of Ottoman expansion on the territory. They were amulets tattooed predominantly on young girls by female elders in ritual settings on holy days. The purpose was protection from Ottoman kidnaping and enslavement. The tattoos were an ethnic identifier and a reminder of Christian faith, for the wearer and for the kidnapper. . The motives, however, mostly consist of organic and natural symbols and some of the crosses used are not recognised as Christian. There’s reasons to believe the practice was appropriated from the older tattoo traditions of Illyrian tribes who used to inhabit the area.  . The ritual tattooing became a thing of fashion and some of us can still find our grandma's hands and faces adorned with ink. The fashion has skipped a generation but Millenials and Zoomers are reclaiming the tradition and marking their heritage. . I had previously created a little highlight with a bit of info on this tradition but I’d love to do proper research and create an extensive resource on the topic. This will obviously take time and effort so I still need to figure out the logistics but I’m excited to dive deeper into it. I will be sharing some info on how you can support this project in the near future.  . Hvala Katya, an honour to be entrusted with this marking. 💜🙏☸️

Ok so, Lena is this uber cool neuroscientist who is researching something that was considered to be unresearchable and borderline pseudoscience. We poked her squigly neuro tattoo just before she was about to fly off to Canada for her PhD (!!) to conduct research with the very professor who sparked her interest in the topic (!!!!!!). She’s now off in even worse weather 😅than Amsterdam’s, looking at brain scans syncing as people interact with each other. Please @anelleda correct me if I’ve remembered something wrong. Alsooo, if there’s research on the topic we can already geek out on, please share! . Lena, thank you so much for letting me jam out on your beautiful skin. I don’t know if you know but I’m so inspired by what you do. Can't wait for my spec man.  . Fellow neuro enthusiasts, hmu. I’m very keen on poking more of these. Like, look at it. Shit. Still my fave.  . That being said, February books are closed (holy shit, thank you guys!) and March books open soon! If you wanna get poked, the link is in bio! Big Love.

breathe 🌬️🌬️🌬️ . As soon as Mari showed me what she wanted to poke, I was like -  dude, I need it too. We all sometimes need reminders to breathe. It’s extra funny when an air sign’s connection to their element slips their mind heheh . Breath is such a simple and powerful tool. The best way to give your body a cue where you want it to go. It can help grounding, ascending, connecting, disconnecting, you name it. We’re still discovering exactly how far breath can take us. There’s a really cool x-ray vid where you can see how nasal breathing literally massages your brain. Insane. All the esoteric stuff aside, breath can be such an ally in a moment of distress, hardship or healing. And yet, most people aren’t taught how to use it and treat it merely as an ANS function. Insane. Anywayyy . @marilonah thank you so much for entrusting me with marking this sweet reminder. I hope it helps carry you through the moments when we all forget. Big big big love! 😚💜

🔸Mark the steps🔸 . Learning and understanding what facilitates learning is definitely something I'm passionate about. From personal experience, one of the crucial elements that have repeatedly helped my learning was amazing teachers. We all had a couple of those. The ones who really love what they do, who are good at what they do and who actually care if you learn from them. . Navaya is one of those teachers. I've never witnessed a teacher being so good at seeing people and giving the right amount of challenge and toughness while balancing it with support and gentleness. A teacher whose goal is for you to become competent. She'll make you laugh and cry and you'll love it all. It really helps she's the sweetest. 😇 . Beyond grateful to have crossed paths with you, so honoured to have marked your path of reclaiming your roots and your mission. Big Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💜
