In my soul and spirit I'm rejoicing with the 911 kiddos for their good fortune, but the true vector for spreading fannish enthusiasm on Tumblr is the gifset, and all the 911 gifsets seem to be of 2-3 absolutely identical dudes, so it's all very confusing. I don't know which one Buck is, but I guess he's going on dates with a guy who isn't the other main guy? I actually thought there were gays already, but what I'm learning is that those are the gays from a different show which is also 911, a show I was not even aware had a cinematic universe. Anyway I believe in my heart that all of this would feel less confusing to me if it were happening on a space ship, but people who watch procedurals deserve happiness and I'm not afraid to say it. God bless you and your 2-5 sturdy, indistinguishable white men.

i’ve been watching inspector morse, which they started making in 1987, and have been experiencing really specific tactile nostalgia. for like. the weight of a phone receiver in my hand. the feeling of metal payphone buttons. the hum of one of those honking huge typewriters. the good stuff

Lamp, Jacques Le Chevallier, c. 1927-1930, Minneapolis Institute of Art: Decorative Arts, Textiles and Sculpture
Aluminum with adjustable hood vents; ebonite top and foot Jacques Le Chevallier’s lamps were meant to shock. They are brazenly functional, showing off their machine-like construction of inelegant flat metal shapes held together by unconcealed screws. The angled panels act as light diffusers. Le Chevallier created at least seven lamp designs in the late 1920s and strove to make each one sculptural, functional, and unique. Size: 16 ½ x 7 ½ x 11 in. (41.91 x 19.05 x 27.94 cm) Medium: Aluminum and ebonite (rubber)

Swedish born Greta Magnusson Grossman (1906-1999) maintained a prolific forty-year career on two continents, Europe and North America, with award-winning achievements in industrial design, interior design and architecture. In 1940 she opened her own shop in Beverly Hills that featured lamps, rugs, and furniture she designed. It attracted celebrities such as Greta Garbo, Joan Fontaine, and Gracie Allen. Her name was becoming well known and continued to design for other companies with great success until the late 1940s. Grossman’s most enduring work in Los Angeles came in the form of her built architectural commissions. Between 1949 and 1959 Grossman designed at least fourteen homes in Los Angeles, one in San Francisco and one back in her native Sweden. Of these, at least ten are still standing. The homes were often perched on stilts at the top of a hill, overlooking a canyon, with magnificent views through curtain walls of glass. The homes featured extensive built-in shelving and the uniquely open and free flowing floor plan popular at the time. She retired from design and architecture in the late 1960s.
