think it's important to note that while i have some pretty pessimistic readings of botw that i certainly think that more optimistic readings are completely reasonable to have! while i don't think botw was trying to really criticize zelda's story formula as much as many people think, I still agree that there was definitely enough there for people to dig into and interpret. botw is a massive game, which can lead to a lot of...I guess dissonant theming? that's part of what makes it so interesting to me.

hm! now that i think about it has gaffen actually fought anyone outside of the yiga? physically. (fight is. a bit of a Light term for gaffens relationship with the yiga its just for. general terminology. do you have anything to say to yiga im sorry yiga)

pre calamity yes, he has fought people before! mostly when he was younger and a few times when he was training to become a soldier. he was. not particularly well behaved in training at first </3

post calamity? aside from the occasional person on the road who he snuck up on in the dark accidentally, no. he's maybe sparred once or twice with people (paya, riju and yunobo probably), but it was more to teach them how to fight rather than to improve his own skills.

ok!! not sure if this was ever stated. but can the champions' ghosts talk to each other/talk with wreath at the same time?

no idea either but that depends on what you mean! if you mean talk to each other and wreath, yeah! if you mean talk to each other And wreath at the same time, no. they cant multitask much, at least with talking

during the fic they. ok so: first they have to be freed. otherwise they cant talk to Anyone unless its in the divine beast/emotional purposes perhaps (in canon mipha managed to tell the zora to keep her trident. im assuming its a strong gut feeling that just Pops Up. snapcube president something just happened. i would like to make a good lore reason for that however at the moment! i cant really think of anything besides maybe seeing from the beasts perspective from time to time and being able to choose when to and not to). once link frees em, boom! they can appear and disappear at will. by appearing i mean they can only really appear to link and talk to him/the other champions, they dont have a physical form. once anothers free theyre basically part of the party per say. they can tag out and tag in whenever. the spirits can only talk to each other if theyre visible but. they do! and they do it often. they cant see other ghosts/spirits (like koko and cottlas mother, for example), only each other. im summing this up as an emotional bond because lore wise i. also have no idea unfortunately. the same goes for link he can only see the champions ghosts . if he Were able to see other ghosts itd be through something like the lens of truth or through an outside thing. otherwise youre outta luck buddy . go there pointing image in the . what term would i use here. afterlife? spirit realm? twilight realm (ttthats not the same thing,) ? go to charon . anyways BOO

I have a question for the fanfic writers among you: How do you treat your work in progress when a very similar story is put out there? Do you go on writing - in the spirit that everything is unique in its own way - or do you abandon the piece - in the spirit of preventing 'superfluous' contributions?

Let's add a further wrench into the process by saying the recently published work by another author, so similar to your own, seems so much better written than your own (granted we are always our own worst critics). Where do you go with that?

Maybe this is a question for readers, too. Do you mind reading similar works/story lines?

#by the time i'm done conceptualizing my fics theyre usually so fucked up that i dont think theres anything like them #fucked up meaning extremely specific and weird #that being said if i saw something similar enough to what i was doing in concept and themes i would drop it. and if it was good i'd just #read that instead honestly. that's never happened though i dont read enough fanfic and my interests in fandoms are often kind of obscure #even though i'm a big proponent of the idea that your unique perspective will always make your writing unique #as long as you arent like. blatantly copying someone else. #its mostly because i write fanfic BECAUSE i want things that i dont see. deconstructions of common fandom tropes and existential horror #deep character studies etc. which i just? idk i dont really LOOK actively for them but when i browse a03 its just not something i see. #so if i saw something that was what i wanted then theres really no need for me to write it #unfortunately im just picky
