What Is a Blog and Why You Should Create Your Own Blog?
Tumblr media
Let me explain this with an example!
If you got a cute dog and you love writing about how it plays, how cute it is, and the funny things it does on a daily basis…then you simply sharing a bunch of content that’s not adding any value to your readers… Sure, they might want to see a few pics, maybe even leave a few comments… and they will move on…they have better things to do after that!
Now let’s take this dog example again in a different context. You are a dog expert. Be it dog breed, dog food, dog health. You are the person your friends always reach out to.. You know everything about it. So imagine you writing a blog about this. You are no longer writing random stuff anymore. Instead, you are writing something people are actively searching for. ..Something that will solve their problem.
Who do you think has more chance of success with their blog?
The first example will more qualify as a journal, maybe something you like to share with others, but this will not make money if that’s what you expect from your blog.
You can keep on writing tons of stuff and hope people will visit your website to read them so that you can make money. But in reality, this will be a never-ending process, and you will always be struggling for traffic and more importantly- relevant traffic.
Which brings us back to the question…
What is a Blog?
Think of your blog as a source of helpful articles that will help your readers. For example, instead of making a random dog website, create a website like this that talks about the best dog foods or dog health.
What is the benefit?
It immediately tells your readers what your blog is all about and what is in it for them.
Another example? …This very blog you are reading right now! In this blog, we mainly talk about make money online, Passive Income and Affiliate Marketing opportunities…and all our contents are focused on these topics.
So overall, your blog is an excellent opportunity to connect with your readers and help them solve their problems. As long as you follow this simple principle, you can build a successful blog that will sustain in the long run.
Why Should You Start Your Blog?
Apart from a very few websites like Govt, Public Info, and non-profit websites like Wikipedia, most of the websites or blogs are built for one and only one purpose…. to make money out of it.
Take any industries, any niche, any business- the underlying reason for creating a website is to share knowledge and leverage it for generating revenue.
If you want to be successful in your online journey, this is the simple formula you need to follow.
Focus on sharing knowledge that will solve people’s problems. For example, if you are a dog expert who knows what to check when buying dog foods, best dog foods available in the market- why not share that knowledge with others?
Keep repeating the first step and leverage your knowledge in generating money
Wrapping Up
So there you folks! Hopefully, now you have a clear understanding of what a blog is and how a blog can help you in your online journey.
If you are super excited right now (I’m sure you are!) to start your blog then, we have an epic guide for you waiting on how to start a blog.
Why do we call it epic?
Because it’s an extremely detailed, step by step guide with 16000+ words. So fair warning! Grab a cup of coffee before you start reading it; you might not get a chance afterwards! Yes, it’s that engaging!
So, are you ready? Awesome! Let’s jump into it.

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Start a Blog on a Free Blogging Platform
Tumblr media
When I first started blogging, I had a minimal budget to invest. So my initial thought was to go for a free blogging platform in the beginning. So if you are thinking of doing the same, I totally get you.
At this point, you might not be sure whether you will continue blogging or not or should you invest money upfront when you don’t know how long will it take to get the return of your investment. You are not alone. I have been there as well!
Years later, when I look back at it, I thank myself that I ultimately go for the paid option, and it was worth the investment.
I want to be honest with you. In fact, let me be the first person to tell you that all business, even blogging, requires a minimum investment. There is no other way around this. But if you ask me, the investment much less when you compare it to others.
So if you are in a dilemma to choose between the free and paid version of the blogging platform, this article might help you clear your mind. In this article, I will explain why choosing a free blogging platform is a bad idea and why you shouldn’t start a blog on a free Blogging Platform either if you are serious about making money online.
But before doing that, I will start by explaining what exactly a Free Blogging platform is.
What is a Free Blogging Platform?
A free blogging platform lets you to sign up and get a free domain at their blogging platform. You can set up your website for free and start blogging.
Two such most common free platforms are Blogger.com and WordPress.com. Apart from these two, few more known such platforms are Wix.com and Tumblr.com.
You can set up your blog within minutes and start blogging. A very few advantages of using such blogging platform will be:
It is free
It has a very simple interface and
It takes only a few minutes to set up
However for serious blogging and making income, the free blogging platform is not going to work. Let’s find out Why !
Disadvantage of Free Blogging Platform
#1.Free Domain Looks Unprofessional
Let me ask you a question. Do you shop online? On Amazon or Walmart? They have their website names as Amazon.com and Walmart.com These are branded websites that you trust, and you can buy from them with confidence.
Will you buy from a website that is something like Amazon.blogspot.com or Walmart.WordpPress.com with the same confidence?
You won’t because these websites look unprofessional and do not appeal to people.
The same thing will happen to your blog as well. If you create a blog on a free hosting platform, it will never appeal to your readers. Your readers will not take you seriously, no matter how well you write your content. If you are blogging for money, this is certainly not what you will want.
#2.Limited Storage Space
Blogger and WordPress Free version offer a minimal storage space. Blogger gives you 1 GB of storage space. For WordPress.com, it is 3 GB. This is very less, considering you will need to upload a lot of images and posts on your website on regular intervals for your articles.
#3.Limited Customizing Option
Free blogging platforms have a limited number of themes and less customizing options available. So in many cases, you might be able to change the color of the theme header, but not the font size. Moreover, in free platforms, you will not be able to install any new themes and plugins. Plugins are especially essential to customize the blog further and make it SEO optimized. Without SEO and other plugins, it is impossible to rank in search engines like Google.
#4.Limited Earning and Monetization Potential
The scope of monetization is very limited in free blogs. Free blogs like WordPress.com runs their own advertising in your blog to cover their expenses. You will not earn any money from this. You will have very little traffic, so even if you are somehow able to run ads on your website, the earning will be less. The CPC and CPM rates will also be less. The worst thing will be, most of the affiliate network sites will reject your application because they will consider your website unworthy.
#5.No Control over Domain
This is the most dangerous part, and sadly it happens a lot.
Relying on a free blogging platform can be costly as you have practically no control over it. So it might be quite possible, you can end up losing every piece of content you have posted on your blog and that also without any notice or intimation.
If the blogging platform notices any violation of their terms of service agreement, they can suspend your website and remove all the content. In a self-hosted platform, you are generally informed or given a warning when they notice any such violation to take corrective action. Unfortunately for free platforms, it is not the same.
What is the Best Alternative?
If you are serious of blogging and make money take the right action from the day one. Be in charge of your own blog and don’t let anyone take the control.
Always go for WordPress.Org (this is different from the WordPress.Com that I explained earlier).
WordPress.Org is a Content Management System (CMS), which is also free but you need to host it a server.
To understand it better, you can consider WordPress.Com as a software and the hosting server as a Hard Disk where you will install this software. The reason why you are installing this software on a server is so that you can be accessed and viewed from anywhere.
Using WordPress.Org has many advantages. These are:
You can use a professional domain i.e yourwebsite.com
You can customize your blog in any way you want
Total control over your website
You can monetize it better and earn money
Take regular automated back up; so you won’t lose any data
Wrapping Up
I hope now you have a clear idea of why you should not select a free blogging platform, rather go for WordPress.Org. Do you know that 14.7% of the Top 100 Websites in the World run on WordPress? Take the right step and give yourself the right start by choosing WordPress on a hosting platform. Trust me, this is the right thing to do, and you won’t regret it.

What Is Organic Marketing? What Are Different Types of Organic Marketing?
If you have been in the affiliate marketing space for some time now, I am sure you have come across the term “organic marketing.” People talk about this a lot, but there are many who have no idea what it is.
Tumblr media
I was talking to a guy a few days ago who is just getting started, and during our conversation, the topic came up. He has a hazy understanding of what “organic” means, having witnessed organic farming, organic vegetable growing, and so on. But when it comes to organic marketing, he was clueless.
So, in this post, I will explain in simple English what Organic Marketing is and how you you can promote different affiliate programs using different Organic Marketing methods.
What is Organic Marketing?
Organic marketing is a form of marketing that focuses on increasing the visibility and presence of a business or brand through unpaid, or “organic,” methods. This can be achieved through various tactics such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, content marketing, and influencer marketing.
It is a cost-effective way to reach consumers. Unlike paid advertising, which requires a budget to be allocated towards ad spend, organic marketing relies on tactics that are already available to businesses for free, such as social media platforms and search engines.
Benefits of Organic Marketing
There are several benefits to using organic marketing as a part of a business’s overall marketing strategy:
Cost-effective: One of the main benefits of organic marketing is that it is a cost-effective way to reach consumers. Unlike paid advertising, which requires a budget to be allocated towards ad spend, organic marketing relies on tactics that are already available to businesses for free, such as social media platforms and search engines.
Sustainable: Organic marketing is a long-term strategy that can continue to bring in results over time. While paid advertising may bring in immediate results, these efforts are typically short-lived and will stop once the budget is depleted. Organic marketing, on the other hand, can continue to drive traffic and leads as long as the business is producing high-quality content and actively engaging with its audience.
Builds trust and credibility: By providing valuable, informative content and engaging with customers on social media, businesses can establish themselves as thought leaders in their industry and build trust with their audience. This can lead to increased customer loyalty and long-term success.
Targets specific audience: With organic marketing, businesses can tailor their efforts to reach a specific audience. For example, using targeted keywords in website content and social media posts can help attract customers who are searching for the business’s products or services.
Increases brand awareness: By using tactics such as SEO, social media marketing, and content marketing, businesses can increase their visibility and reach a wider audience. This can lead to increased brand awareness and recognition, which can ultimately drive more traffic and sales.
Provides valuable insights: Organic marketing efforts, such as social media engagement and website analytics, can provide valuable insights into the preferences and behaviors of a business’s target audience. This can help businesses tailor their marketing efforts and make informed decisions about their product or service offerings.
Improves search engine rankings: By optimizing a website for relevant keywords and regularly producing high-quality content, businesses can improve their search engine rankings and increase their visibility in the SERPs. This can drive more traffic to the website and ultimately lead to increased sales.
Increases website traffic: By using tactics such as SEO and social media marketing, businesses can drive more traffic to their website. This can lead to increased brand awareness and potentially higher sales as more people become aware of the business and its offerings.
Different Types of Organic Marketing
There are different types of strategies businesses can use as part of their organic marketing strategy. Some of these are:
Search engine optimization (SEO)
SEO involves optimizing a website’s content and structure to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) for relevant keywords. This can be achieved through techniques such as keyword research, which involves identifying the words and phrases that potential customers are using when searching for products or services related to the business.
On-page optimization involves making changes to the website’s content and structure to make it more appealing to search engines. This can include optimizing titles, headings, and other elements of the website’s code. Link building involves acquiring links from other websites that point back to the business’s website. This helps to improve the website’s credibility and authority in the eyes of search engines.
Social media marketing
Social media marketing involves using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to engage with customers and build a community around a brand. This can be achieved through tactics such as posting regular updates, which can be in the form of text, images, or videos.
Interacting with followers is also important, as this helps to build relationships and establish the business as a thought leader in its industry. Using hashtags can also help to increase the visibility of a business’s content, as it makes it easier for users to find and engage with the content.
Content marketing
Content marketing involves creating valuable, informative content that is relevant to the business’s target audience. This can be in the form of blog posts, articles, infographics, or other types of written or visual content. The goal of content marketing is to provide useful information to the business’s target audience, which can help to establish the business as a thought leader in its industry and build trust with customers.
Influencer marketing
Influencer marketing involves partnering with individuals or organizations who have a large following on social media or other platforms. By collaborating with influencers, businesses can tap into their audience and reach a new group of potential customers. This can be achieved through tactics such as sponsoring influencer content or providing products or services to influencers in exchange for a review or promotion.
Email marketing
Email marketing involves using email to send targeted messages to a business’s email subscribers. This can be in the form of newsletters, which provide regular updates and information to subscribers, or promotional emails, which highlight special offers or sales. Personalized messages can also be sent to specific segments of a business’s email list, targeting specific interests or demographics.
Video marketing
Video marketing involves using video content, such as YouTube videos or Instagram stories, to engage with customers and promote a business’s products or services. This can be achieved through tactics such as creating and uploading educational or entertaining videos, or partnering with influencers who create video content for the business.
Local SEO
Local SEO involves optimizing a business’s online presence for customers in a specific geographic location. This can be achieved through tactics such as claiming local business listings, which allows the business to appear in local search results, and optimizing website content for local keywords, which helps the website rank higher in local search results.
Wrapping Up
Overall, organic marketing can be a valuable strategy for businesses looking to increase their online presence and reach a wider audience without relying on paid advertising. By using tactics such as SEO, social media marketing, content marketing, and influencer marketing, businesses can build a strong online presence and establish themselves as leaders in their industry.
