I made dark chocolate and walnut fudge from scratch and covered it in vanilla candy coating that I colored to look like water and land on a map or globe. I used black sparkle gel icing to free-hand the outlines and an edible shimmer spray for a splash of flair on the water.

I want this year to be a year of new connections. I have such strong bonds with my close friends, found family, and blood siblings, but I want to expand my inner circle in new ways. Romantic, platonic, professional, and unique ways. All acceptable, and all desired. I just feel like I'm in a place emotionally and psychologically that I feel is strong, healthy, and stable. I believe that any new relationships I establish will be strong and beautiful, and the benefits of my experiences giving me the resources I need to build up each and every connection in an empathic and compassionate light. Toxic influences have all been left behind, and the communication and boundaries of every important relationship in my life are clear and honest. I'm proud of myself, and of those I love and cherish, and of the relationships we share. I am ready for those relationships to grow in number and variety, now. It's going to be a better year for all of us, and I am ready to put in the effort to make it so.

Another year begins. Our world is in constant turmoil, beset by oppression, hatred, and war. We face plagues, poverty, and existential threats on a planetary scale. Fear and despair pervade our every waking moment, and even our dreams give no respite from the pain and stress we feel.

But there is still hope. Our world is just that: ours. We still have time to do all we can to make things better, to put all of this to right. It's never simple, and none of it will be easy. Each of us as individuals has the power to make a difference on a small scale. No one should feel they bear the burden alone, nor more than they can carry. And collectively, we have the means to communicate and unite on an unprecedented scale to accomplish feats far greater than any one of us could ever do on our own.

So I implore you. Speak out against the plights that matter most to you. Write, call, or post to whomever represents you in your government, at the local, city, county, state, or national level, or whatever your equivalent divisions may be in your nation. Join groups of like-minded individuals who organize together to affect positive change. Give what you can spare, be it money, food, time, service, or even your voice or your vote. Seek knowledge and information about the most effective ways to make a positive influence on the world, and take every success, no matter how small, as a part of the greater victory.

I made these for my niece's birthday party/Halloween party on Saturday. I turned some gelatin black using sorcery then added some other flavors on top to make a witches' brew batch and a blood & darkness batch. Gummy frog for witches' brew, rainbow gummy worm for the blood. There were two dozen, and they were gone so fast.
