After 32 years of life, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder under the DSM V, would have been Asperger’s under DSM IV. I’ve not seen Megamind, but just reading the list of things going on with him, I’m already feeling a connection with the character because holy crapbaskets, that’s me every single day.

Going to copy/paste some actual criteria because Megamind is so autistic, and I love it.

Being an aspie, I’ve frequently had to ‘pass’ as neurotypical just to be treated ‘normal’. Much like Megamind’s disguise watch - I slip on a new face/voice and suddenly no one looks at me like a ‘freak’. But it’s not natural. I’m still an alien underneath it all.
