I really should get back to posting, just really haven't found the groove and what with the recent collapse of social media as we've known it, it has felt more daunting and scary to put myself out there.

Algorithms and people like consistency, to have a regular output of content, to have some sense of pattern so that the content creators don't fade into obscurity and that makes it more difficult for me just from the pressure even because I know that I lack the ability to perform consistently. Executive dysfunction, social anxiety, rejection sensitivity, autism, perfectionism: so much in my life makes it difficult to put myself out there as much as I want.

How should I format my posts? How formulaic and professional should they be? How frequently should I post? In what order? What do I post? I've even written scripts that create formatted images and write posts about my Pokémon for me based on everything I've put in my spreadsheet that I keep updated, all I have to do is actually assemble the posts then post them; but, I find that they often feel too impersonal and as much as people say that my format is charming, I find issue with how Pokémon like Ungudar will end up tiny and those like Rhinerjar end up huge:

But what should I do instead? What's the fix? I don't know!

It's okay that I don't know, I don't need to have everything figured out! But, I have a hard time internalising that no matter how much I say it to myself and others. Algorithms also aren't so forgiving, but maybe that's okay, too. Getting lots of attention can be overwhelming and I just hope to inspire someone with what I do.

Anyways, Arketa's going great. The final dex is within sight, which is absolutely unbelievable to me even though I can see it for myself.

Arketa also has all of its Gym Leaders and other characters are in progress!

Hell, the region also has a basic design and some locations have names! It's honestly crazy.

I'll try to post more because Arketa's pretty dang awesome and I love seeing people getting inspired and excited by it. I can't promise anything, but I'll leave you with this rough animation on an unfinished model of Bustmuss dancing. :3

Actually life is beautiful because the sound I make while trying to breathe around hot food sounds like my dog trying to eat an apple. When I yawn my cat tries to put his face in my mouth like a little dentist man and when he yawns I put my finger in his obligate-carnivore trapzone and we both know he will not hurt me. When I do not fold my clothes, they do not hold it against me.

I am demonstrably sad, and lonely, and full of fear. But there are other people who will hold my hand, who will point out the hawk overhead, who will give you That Look in a public place. The other day at a coffee shop a child said "look! It's snowing!" so all of us strangers went to go look out the windows. It wasn't the first snow and it won't be the last but wasn't it lovely like that?

How wonderful to live in a world where birds and frogs both say beep! How wonderful to have an ocean of beautiful sharks with their dinosaur teeth! How wonderful the moon and her changing face, how wonderful the bees and their dancing to communicate, how wonderful shrimp and their forbidden layers of vision! How wonderful, you, and what you will give the world! The way we love things enough to spend entire blogs devoted to them? How people will let me explain my Pokemon team to them? How we will both jump at the scare in the movie, how we laugh so loudly, how it feels to give someone your baking? How wonderful to be alive. I am sorry for forgetting.

This is the process of getting better. With wonderful people and wonderful strangers and wonderful friends: I am getting better, slowly. Thank you, whoever you are. In some way, you've been wonderful, and left a wonderful place in the world to ripple out to me. In some small way - isn't it beautiful - I promise, you've been helping.

Olmytee, The Olm Pokémon

Type: Dragon/Rock Height: 36cm (1' 2") Ability: Swift Swim/Hydration

The stone slab covering Olmytee's face renders it completely blind, leading researchers to think that it was a beneficial adaptation as they live in dark caves with no light and have very soft bodies

Evolves into Drasten starting at level 40.

Etymology: A corruption of 'almighty' with 'olm'.

Here is Agnes Dee, or as she likes to be called, Nessie. My first demon girl oc, i made because my friends had them too.

Nessie is a sheep demon from the Underworld, here to seduct and wreak havoc. The furry fiend puts a lot of care into her appearance, and if she doesn't shave for a while, she'll develop a thick coat. Which is practical in winter, but not so much in the hotter parts in hell. Although this blood-thirsty (and thirst-inducing) caprine relishes in the sacrifice of the living, she shows mercy to those she particularly enjoys the company of. But don't count on it.

Also, have a slightly spicier alt.

Teaptapp has been modelled!!!

This little Steam-type Pokémon likes hiding in ceramics it scavenges to protect its fragile body. It plays a similar role to Flabébé, where it's a 3-stage monotype of a new type that players encounter early in the game to introduce them to that new type. Because of this, it was important to think about what things are commonly and abundantly associated with gasses: balloons, steam engines, teapots.

Now, balloons are already covered well by Jigglypuff (now Steam/Fairy) and Drifloon (now Ghost/Steam) and steam engines are more dramatic, so are covered by the likes of later game Pokémon like Arketan Golurk and Registeam; but, I had an idea for a Ghibli-esque sprite that could do 'teapot Pokémon' in a different way than Polteageist and feels more approachable for the early game, as this little sprite can easily be in and around towns, with even quests to track them down because they stole important items from people.

They very much play on imagery of nisser, gnomes, and brownies; but, I wanted to be careful to keep them Steam-types and not Fairy-types (Arketa already has a Fairy-type nisse, being Komptu). Teaptapp occupies a space in-between Fairies and Ghosts, referencing how even the etymology of some sprites refers to them as creatures that could be blown away in a breeze. Gases like steam and fog are common imagery for fairies and ghosts, but can be something unique unto themselves.

As Teaptapp evolves, it swaps its teapot for bigger and bigger ceramics, much like a hermit crab and its body gets larger with gaseous overflow, resembling a beard you might see on a gnome. All of this imagery helps to reinforce the idea of a gas Pokémon to help players understand this type before introducing more nuanced uses of it like Arketan Kecleon (neon gas).

Klekklack, The Porcelain Pokémon Type: Steam Height: 72cm (2' 4") Ability: Weak Armor These Pokémon seem to be able to travel through pocket dimensions made up of the unused space in cracks and crevices. They use these pocket dimensions to get around quickly and store ceramics they have collected. Evolves from Teaptapp at level 18 and into Tekanga at level 34. Etymology: A pun on 'click clack' with 'klen' (fragile) and klättra (clamber). Shiny:

Arketan Golurk, The Automaton Pokémon Type: Steel/Steam Height: 290cm (9' 5") Abilities: Steam Engine, Iron Fist (Full Metal Body) As both these Pokémon and Golurk from other regions are artificial, it's very likely that their similarities are merely coincidental. However, they are similar enough for researchers to classify it as a regional variation and not its own Pokémon. Evolves from Arketan Golett starting at level 48. Shiny:

Depest, The Nightmare Pokémon Type: Dark/Ghost Height: 42cm (1' 4") Abilities: Insomnia, Bad Dreams (Strawman [Raises attack if the opponent misses or uses an ineffective move.]) These Pokémon feed off of the fear of both people and Pokémon. The dust that flakes off of their bodies gives nightmares and sleep paralysis to all that inhale it, from which these Pokémon source their food. Evolves into Mygmara when exposed to a Reaper Cloth at night. Etymology: A pun on 'detest' with 'pest' (both 'nuisance' and 'plague'). Shiny:
