You know what I think?? I think we need to stop apologizing for not being so active on here constantly — especially in the RPC. People often forget that roleplaying isn't a job. Roleplaying is a hobby. I know I've been bad about this in the past but ... like ... shit happens. Our health comes first. How are we supposed to be at our best and help people if we're at an all time low?? So if going onto your roleplaying blog to post OOC stuff makes you feel better then so be it. Not only that but we're not obligated to explain every little detail about our everyday lives. So you do you and focus on your health first even if it means taking 5 whole ass months (or years, even) off of roleplaying and Tumblr. Because ... let's be real ... as much as we all love and cherish Tumblr it's also a hellhole and extremely stressful at times.

So repeat after me: ROLEPLAYING IS A HOBBY AND NOT A JOB.

USEFUL SITES FOR ROLEPLAYERS

Thought I'd make a list of some useful websites for those of us who enjoy roleplaying and what have you here on Tumblr and whatnot.

roleplay formatter: Made by the awesome @rpclefairy. I honestly can't recommend this one enough. Great for adding color, changing the font size, and the whole shebang with bold + italics + underline + strikethrough. 10/10 always use

fsymbols + emojipedia: These are both great for making your tags fancy and whatnot.

alt codes: This is genuinely great for teaching you how to make the symbols with your keyboard for everyday use so there's that. It's especially useful if you and/or your muses speak a second language so that's a bonus.

text color fader: *marge vc* I just think gradient effects on text is neat. *end marge vc*

list of colors (wikipedia): Has a list of an infinite number of colors and their hex codes. Very useful if I do say so, myself. But that's just me.

screencapped.net: Great for getting all sorts of screenshots for making icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot.

fancaps.net: Also great for getting all sort of screencaps for making icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot. My only complaint is that it's a little annoying to navigate so here's the proper links to movies, tv shows, and anime.

photopea: Great if you can't afford Photoshop and/or don't like using GIMP.

hakuneko: It's not so much a website as much as it is a program. You can download manga, comics, webtoons, doujinshi, etc. for making your icons, GFXs, promos, and whatnot. It's also just a great way to read stuff and catch up on everything.

Kids think they know best. Looking in places they really shouldn't be looking. Touching other people's property. Going into that creepy, abandoned haunted house nobody has lived in for decades because of the stories surrounding the place. Just the standard, cliché, horror movie spin, no? Unfortunately for these plucky little busybodies, there was nothing standard about that night. Not once they opened the way to a world they couldn't comprehend. It was all right off the script of a completely stereotypical horror movie lifted from the eighties when people were still easily scared. An old house, a scary basement... and a book. Leatherbound, dogeared, clearly well thumbed with some pages torn and the text faded away into barely legible script. Yet it was all written by hand, careful and precise handwriting with the soft swirl of a time long since gone. A journal perhaps, or something more sinister.

Of course they had to read it aloud. Who wouldn't want to read an unknown script from a creepy house? Just because they didn't understand what they were reading, didn't mean it would dissuade them. It just made the thrill of what they were doing so much more tantalising. Naturally they were disappointed when nothing happened. No Demons summoned. No ghouls, no goblins and no spooks. It was like the book was derelict, useless. Disappointment suffused them when they left what they had hoped would be a thrilling adventure.

They just didn't realise they brought something with them.

The doors opened, and through them stepped some of the greatest villains of all time. Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger. Stalkers of the darkness and murderers of innocence. Dragged from their world into a strange new city. A city they would make their own, by any means necessary.

Masters Of Horror is a 21+ horror based group found on Discord which welcomes and delights in the macabre, the dark, and the twisted. Some of the greatest horror creations come to life in a world they didn’t even know could exist. Viewer discretion is advised, as the permission of Dead Dove Content is very much welcome within Ennisport.

Saltburn is a semi-private writing server for members aged 25+.
