i cannot get over how good the Kai and Taborr duel on Starlight Beacon was. emotionally, aesthetically, and choreographically perfect for their arcs. and it was just one part of an absolutely WIZARD episode! any Star Wars fan, young or old, who hasn't seen it (and all of YJA S1! it's all great!) is doing themself a disservice

iirc DJO confirmed Lula, Zeen, Farzala, and Ishnar are all 18 after the time skip (and Qort is 21! little guy no longer!) and based on the “commander” line in issue 5 i think Zeen’s a formal member of the RDC (and presumably getting paid, which is good because idk if Mz. Z. is a big enough name to pay the bills)

based on Dr. Kang’s short stories from Star Wars Insider magazine, RDC officers seem to act more like privateers with a letter of marque than members of a regimented military which would explain her relative freedom.

what even is Zeen's legal situation throughout the comics? she lives with the jedi and goes on their missions. did they adopt her? is she a part of the order in an official capacity, even if she isn't a jedi? is she an employee once she becomes an adult, which i assume she does at some point during the series?

do the jedi even factor into this, or is it just the republic? she seems to hold an official position in their military in phase 3, so i assume they pay her? was she receiving some kind of support as an orphan teenager before that?
