Well, I have lots of High School/College AUs on my rec list. You can check them out if you want more.
No, He Can’t Read My Poker Face  Summary: It’s a Masquerade Ball. Normally something Castiel would want to avoid – too many people getting drunk while taking part in the total lack of inhibitions that a mask can give them. The last part, well, Castiel intends to take full advantage of.
Now For A Night, Here For A Song Summary: Dean and Cas get locked in a library during a snowstorm.
Being Good Isn’t Always Easy Summary:  Pastor’s son, Castiel Novak, works in Harvelle University’s library; Dean Winchester is the new trainee. Neither party wants to enjoy being paired together… but they just might.
Creeping Through The Window Summary: Dean Winchester lucks out and gets into the college of his choice. He’s not as lucky when it comes to his roommate.
Chemistry Summary: Dean and Sam Winchester have just moved into town. Castiel finds the new kid interesting, but not as much as Dean feels about Castiel.
It’s Always the End of the World Somewhere Summary: The status quo is this: Dean is the popular captain of the football team, and Castiel is the off-kilter nobody who doesn’t so much as breathe the same air as Dean. Then senior year happens and the status quo is shot to smithereens.
Wrong in All The Right Ways Summary: Castiel had always liked Dean’s ideas. Liked them, gone along with them; encouraged them, even. After one taste of that special adrenaline kick only Dean’s ideas could produce, he’d been hooked. It took him years to figure out why he felt funny when Dean smiled at him, though.
Punch Drunk Love Summary: In which Castiel asks his best friend to teach him how to kiss. Well, he didn’t actually ask – Dean offered. Which is weird ‘cause Castiel is pretty sure he’s very definitely straight.
I Might Kinda Like You Summary: Castiel had always liked Dean, but after Dean hurt his feelings, he never talked to him again. Until they literary bump into each other at a party, and Dean has a few confessions to make himself…
In This Secluded Spot I Respond Summary: It’s 1995, and Castiel’s high school years are destined to be difficult: home-schooled until eighth grade, he is awkward, shy, and socially inept. The weird kid with the funny name would rather isolate himself and draw in his sketchbook than deal with the constant bullying he faces every day. Things only get worse in his junior year when he excels in home economics class, leading the captain of the baseball team, Alastair, to start taunting him for being gay. Then new student Dean Winchester arrives at Flour Bluff High School, sharing many of Castiel’s classes. Castiel has seen his type before – handsome, athletic, arrogant, and sure to be the most popular kid in school. But Castiel eventually learns that he and Dean have more in common than he thought, and they form an unlikely friendship.
Oh Yes You do Mr Novak Summary: Student!Dean and Teacher!Cas… Smut ensues. I think that says it all.
Phys Ed: The Practical Side Summary: Dean Winchester remembers a lot of the students he now teaches after moving to the high school in his small home town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. But no other student sticks out like Castiel Novak.
Paper Football Summary: Castiel is an english teacher, marking his papers outside so he can watch Coach Winchester at work. One paper proves too intesting to pass over.

Hi I’m trying to find a fix where Cas is a human FBI agent and Anna was the angel who pulled Dean out of hell. After Sam dies Dean kidnaps Cas because Anna tells him he’s his soulmate. It’s long and and angsty, and has a sequel from Sam’s perspective in heaven. Thanks!
I think what you’re looking for is:
With Understanding by: apokteino (e, ~427.5k)
Winchester takes a deep breath. "I'm your soulmate."
Castiel should be saying something reassuring, something to convince the psychopath in front of him that he can be molded and should be kept alive. He is a trained FBI agent that has been in the Behavioral Analysis Unit for nearly a year. He knows what to do when kidnapped. Instead, "What the fuck is wrong with you?" comes out.
(Supposed serial killer Dean Winchester kidnaps his soulmate, FBI Agent Castiel Novak. What ensues is a battle of wills – one determined to be loved, and one determined to be free.)

Hi! Recently I’ve been into the whole guardian angel thing. I was wondering if you knew any good ones where Castiel was Dean’s guardian angel and met him or watched over him as a child?
I’ve got a few that are in the same realm of what you’re looking for - with guardian angel!Cas vibes - but aren’t necessarily right on the mark. Try:
Equinox by luchia (t, 12k) The World Crashing All Around by thepinupchemist (e, 36.3k) The Request by cloudyjenn (m, 36.7k)
There’s also this one, which I’ve never read (simply because it’s been a WIP for as long as I’ve been in fandom...), but it seems to be a fandom favorite and along the lines of what you’re looking for so I’ll go ahead and recommend:
The Soul Piece by cloudyjenn (m, 132k **WIP**)
Additional resources include:
guardian angel!Cas tag
ao3
*If anyone else has any recs that fit the description of what OP is looking for drop them here!*

I'm trying to find something that starts when Cas first meets them. I'm rewatching from season 4 and honestly this angst is getting to me.
This isn’t quite when Cas first meets them but it is my favorite season four fic:
The Consequences of Falling by FayJay (e, ~37k)
A story in fifteen parts, in which the angel Castiel finds himself put in an untenable position, and consequentially loses his grace. In which he goes on a roadtrip with a demon, discovers the delights of tequila and french fries and pie, plays a starring role in a virgin sacrifice, is deflowered by his favorite Winchester, and then gets some very unpleasant news indeed.
**The MCD in this story is temporary, just a heads up.
Additional resources include:
Season 4 tag:

Hi, I’ve been searching for ages for a fic I read and can’t find it anywhere! Set in an alternate season 12 Cas lands in Italy and becomes fuck buddies with an Italian man of letters, they’re all trying to rescue Sam and go to London, Dean is jealous and it’s pretty angsty. Ring any bells? Thanks!
I don’t read CasxOther so it doesn’t ring any bells,  no. But you can try looking through Destiel Fanfic’s Season 12 tag.
Good luck!
If any followers know what fic this is, drop it in my inbox.

Heyyy are there any President!Castiel fics you can recommend?
I found these two (both were found on DFF) but haven’t read either of them. Give them a try and let me know what you think! I now need more president!Cas in my life!
If I Lose Myself by justbygrace (t, ~17.8k)
Castiel Novak is the United States' first openly gay President & Dean Winchester is the head of his Secret Service detail.
First Gentleman Wanted by youaresunlight (e, ~31.5k)
President of the United States Castiel Novak is popular, charismatic, and knee-deep in campaigning for a second term. He’d be the ideal candidate if it weren’t for the fact that he hasn’t dated once while in political office. With his opponent’s relentless PR team calling him incapable of emotional commitment, Castiel’s staff decides to remedy the situation by finding their boss a fake, picture-perfect boyfriend. And when Dean Winchester enters the scene, he and Cas become America’s new favorite couple, except they’ve got a whole lot of history between them and complicated feelings to resolve.

hi I'm looking for a fic where sam and jess buy dean cas!omega to keep him company or something because dean is depressed by his parents' deaths and cas is young, he's still a child and dean is opposed to the idea at first but he comes around. Later cas' siblings make an appearance and eventually their home becomes an omega sanctuary or something. There's also meg who's father is azazel/alastair and he abuses her and they accidentally kill him at some point? if that helps. thanks :(((
I haven’t read anything like that but I also don’t read Omega!Cas so I’m not saying it doesn’t exist, only that I haven’t personally read it. Check the A/B/O and Omega!Cas tags on my page though! It might be there.

Destiel AU Rec List
Updated 01/06/2013 * = Denotes my favorites. Twist and Shout * Rating: Explicit Word Count: 97k Summary: What begins as a transforming love between Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak in the summer of 1965 quickly derails into something far more tumultuous when Dean is drafted in the Vietnam War. Though the two both voice their relationship is one where saying goodbye is never a real truth, their story becomes fraught with the tragedy of circumstance. In an era where homosexuality was especially vulnerable, Twist and Shout is the story of the love transcending time, returning over and over in its many forms, as faithful as the sea.  Porcelain Rating: from PG-13 TO NC-17 Word Count: WIP Summary: HS!AU. Dean Winchester has it all. He’s captain of the football team, a self-confessed ladies’ man and one of the most popular guys in school. But, is all of that about to change when he meets the mysterious Castiel Novak in an online chat-room? Peanut Butter-Pumpkin Wedding Cake * Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 31,000 Summary: The good ones are sometimes assholes and always taken. Samskeyti  Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 40,000 Summary: It starts when they’re sixteen: Dean is flunking his classes and Castiel is his strangely persistent tutor. They grow into best friends, and now that they’re adults (or at least they’re supposed to be) into best friends with benefits. They agree: no strings attached, no feelings to complicate the fantastic sex. Things are supposed to be simple, and yet they aren’t. There Will Come Soft Rains * Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 35,000 Summary: Two years after World War III starts, Dean Winchester is a disillusioned former veteran leading a survivors’ camp in the former state of Kansas whose life takes a very, very unexpected turn. Starting when he rescues this guy with huge blue eyes named after an angel. But I Date a Cheerleader Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 19,000+ Summary: Borrows heavily from “But I’m a cheerleader”. Dean’s family holds an intervention for him, claim that he’s gay and ship him off to ‘True Directions’ where he meets Castiel. Gabriel indulges in guerilla warfare and Sam doesn’t know why he indulges him.  Play It All Night Long * Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 43,000 Summary: The rom-com-ish one where Dean hosts a late night radio show, Castiel is a regular listener of his who starts calling one day and ends up calling more often than not and Dean finds himself liking it. This, until one day Castiel calls for not exactly petty reasons (just before Dean’s brother Sam is visiting with his girlfriend for spring break) and things get very, very crowdy at his place. He also doesn’t know it’s just the beginning of it. Also features Gabriel, Chuck, Andy, the Roadhouse crew and a huge amount of music quoted. Especially Bob Dylan. I Like You (Like Me) Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 11,000+ Summary: Dean’s the owner of his own pretty successful coffee shop, and he’s absolutely, totally not in love with the hot accountant guy who comes in every day. He’s way out of his league. Isn’t he? Shootin’ You Straight  Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 40,000+ Summary: Dean Winchester is in a rock band and Castiel is a fan. Not of the music, of Dean. An opportunity presents itself one night after a concert and Castiel can’t pass up the chance of a lifetime. It’s not perfect, but this is their story. Punch Drunk Love Rating: PG-15 to NC-17 Word Count: 2,500 Summary: HS!AU. Castiel asks his best friend to teach him how to kiss. Well, he didn’t actually ask – Dean offered. Which is weird 'cause Castiel is pretty sure he’s very definitely straight. Sequels: x x Stop all the clocks Rating: PG-13 Word Count:15k Summary: The plan was fool proof: take Poetry Studies, meet chicks, the end. Dean was quite confident about it until Professor Castiel Novak walked into the lecture hall and opened his mouth. Who knew one course could change so much? No Strings Attached Rating: NC-17  Word Count: 1,882 Summary: HS!AU. Dean is teasing Castiel about being a prude, so Cas decides to prove him wrong. An Extra Lap Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 3500 Summary: HS!AU. Cas is on the high school swim team and Dean Winchester is the super-attractive, too-cool-for-him lacrosse player. They’re both practicing late one cold autumn night, and Dean succumbs to exhaustion. It’s up to Cas to help him. In Another Life It Could Happen To You Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 3200 Summary: Dean is a college professor, and Cas is his gifted, but shy student. Only, as it turns out, maybe not so shy after all. Grand Opening Rating: Mature Word Count: 2800+ Summary: Castiel has a few alterations to make in regards to his new cafe. But his contractor isn’t helping. J. Alfred Prufrock Grows a Pair Rating: NC-17 Word Count: Summary: HS!AU. Dean’s a new student and Castiel is God of the high school. They get paired together for an English project and sparks fly. We Became Fans of Collisions Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 27k Summary: Dean is the owner of a bookstore that stores all kinds of rare/weird lit. Cas is his best customer, because he comes in practically every week and buys almost as much as he browses. He is secretly lonely as well as very quiet and socially awkward and Dean notices this. Dean is kind of a lonely guy himself, although his lawyer brother likes to visit frequently, and slowly Dean falls in love with Cas. Read Between the Calligraphy Lines Rating: PG-13 Word Count: ~3200 Summary: HS!AU. When their eccentric principal had launched the epic idea for this Valentine, Castiel knew the time for revenge had come. Now he’d finally get back at the dumb jock Dean Winchester, once and for all. He had a plan. And it was brilliant. Come on with the Rain* Rating: NC-17 Word Count: 36k Summary: When Castiel was 15, his life changed. In one tragic instant, he lost his parents, and he was forced to live with his Uncle Bobby in Lawrence, Kansas. There he met the Winchester boys, Sam and Dean, who were living next door. He thought Sam was pleasant, and Dean, well, Dean was special. Three years passed and Castiel’s relationship with the boys developed in an unexpected way. Sam became his best friend. But Dean was a different story.
Of Heaven And Hell * Rating: Not Rated Word Count: WIP Summary: HS!AU. Dean Winchester has just started his summer break before his senior year with a long-term crush on a certain popular YouTuber. An opportunity to meet arises and Jo persuades Dean to go after the object of his desires… coaxing Dean to go on a not-so-epic road trip in his beloved Baby. Awkwardness, fights over many other fangirls that rival his own obsessiveness, and instant attractionensues.
Cooking With Gas * Rating: Explicit Word Count: WIP Summary: Castiel Novak has it all. He’s rich, famous, has a top rated cooking show and restaurant, drives an expensive car and wears Armani. His producer throws a contest to spend a day with Chef Novak, cooking and learning techniques. Castiel wants no part of it, but Balthazar insists and Castiel will do as expected. What Castiel wasn’t expecting was to fall head over heels for the winner. Bonded* Rating: Explicit Word Count: 56k Summary: Demon/Angel College!AU: Dean is a demon who dislikes angels and Castiel is his new angel roommate at college. Dean finds himself fascinated with Castiel’s wings, much to his own annoyance, which only leads him into trouble. When they become accidentally mated to each other, things get complicated and feelings get hurt, but can it be the start of something good? Sequel: x  Schubert and Schumann and Lapsang Souchong Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 19k Summary: Dean doesn’t really have friends, but if he did, they certainly would be nothing like the weird and quite possibly insane kid who’s just moved in next door with his equally crazy family.
But, Honestly Rating: Mature Word Count: 42k Summary: It’s been more than five years since the Winchesters left Lawrence, Kansas. Now, Dean and Sam return, and Dean is forced to confront the one regret he has from when he left: he never told his best friend he was even leaving. When he finally sees Castiel again, it’s like meeting a completely new person.
Come Outside * Rating: Explicit Word Count: 30k Summary: Castiel is afraid to leave the house. His therapist and brother help him to make friends, resulting in meeting Dean, a shy mute who might just be the only one capable of getting him to come out of his shell.

However when Dean walks back into Castiel’s life on the arm of his twin sister, Anna, a year later, Castiel’s world is turned upside down as he realizes just how much Dean affects him.
The Bee Charmer Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 3093 Summary: Needing a break from his hectic life, 19-year-old Dean decides to spend the summer at the country home of his friend Anna Milton. The Milton family is certainly a strange bunch, and the strangest and most fascinating of them all is Anna’s younger brother, Castiel.

Last Friday Night Rating: Explicit Word Count: WIP Summary: College!AU. Dean is a drag racer and Castiel finds him fascinating. But when he holds hostage Castiel Novak, son of a millionaire, and they’re holed up together for days on end, suddenly he’s in way over his head - and he likes it.
Carry On * Rating: Explicit Word Count: WIP Summary: d/s AU. When Sam gets into Stanford, Dean needs a bigger paycheck than Bobby’s garage can give him. Luckily, he knows a guy.
All The Way * Rating: Explicit Word Count: 80k Summary: College!AU. Castiel spends the first two weeks of college in much the same way he spent the previous years: alone with his books. He’s fine with it—he enrolled in college to learn, after all. Then in his first chemistry lab, he has the bad luck of being paired with snide, good-for-nothing Ruby, and the further misfortune of sitting behind Dean Winchester, the world’s most beautiful distraction. Ruby catches Castiel staring at Dean and makes him an offer.
Paper Thin * Rating: Explicit Word Count: 1518 Summary: Dean Winchester is Castiel’s noisy next door neighbor. Not that Castiel minds. Sequels: x, x

Aka: The one where Dean sees his first burlesque show, learns that male burlesque performers are a thing, and tries a lot of new (sexual) things.
Dean Winchester, Straight Shooter * Rating: Explicit Word Count:  ~15k Summary: Dean Winchester, star of StraightShooter.com, is a gay-for-pay porn star with a huge following. Win A Date With Dean Winchester * Rating: Mature Word Count: ~78k Summary: When Hollywood actor Dean Winchester gets caught up in a scandal that could threaten his career if exposed by the press his agent draws up a deal with the press. They won’t expose the story if they can run a competition offering a date with Dean as the prize. Everything is fine until Dean meets the winner, Anna Milton, and her brother Castiel who Dean can’t seem to stop staring at or thinking about despite the fact that Castiel clearly thinks Dean is a talentless moron.
Let Me Follow You Down Rating: Explicit Word Count: ~6700 Summary: In which Dean Winchester comes back to his home town for longer than a week for the first time in five years to find nothing much has changed.. except puberty has been really kind to the former babysitter of his younger brothers, Castiel Novak. Which wouldn’t exactly matter if Dean doesn’t have to find a babysitter for his brothers at a couple of hours notice.
Imitating Life *  Rating: NC-17 Word Count: ~60k Summary: Set in The French Mistake universe (a lot of Dean/Misha). To safeguard the angelic weapons he stole from Heaven, Balthazar has entrusted the keys to their hiding place to Sam and Dean and sent them into an alternative dimension. Unfortunately, Heavenly hitman Virgil followed them through and managed to swipe the keys during the ensuing confrontation. Now, the brothers need to find Virgil stat or their world is headed for a meltdown when he hands the keys over to Raphael who plans to use the weapons to re-start Armageddon. The problem is - how? That may cause some trouble on the way.
Supernaturally Enchanted Rating: Mature Word Count: ~33k Summary: Dean falls into the land of Angelasia. There he meets a handsome prince who may be his True Love – not that he believes in that crap.  Set toward the end of a very different second season. Castiel thinks he’s got a good enough life—he’s married to the greatest girl in the world and he’s got a great job writing for the San Francisco Chronicle. Unsaid Rating: PG-13 Word Count: ~6800 Summary:John and Mary both died in the fire and Dean is deaf. He lives in an orphanage, and he’s just six months short of eighteen when someone in charge decides that a deaf kid must go well with a mute one and gives Dean a new roommate. In a futile attempt to get close to Dean, Cas joins the tech team as a lighter. Dean’s Gay Things Have a Moment * Rating: PG Word Count: 500 Summary: …or DO they? (Featuring Aaron Bass) Could I But Hold Thee Rating: NC-17 Word Count: ~12k Summary: When Castiel is stuck without a model for his life-art class, Dean volunteers. What Dean doesn’t know is that Castiel has already been sketching the young barista for months. The Request * Rating: PG-13 Word count: ~36k Summary: When Sam Winchester prays for his brother, Castiel is finally sent on his very first assignment. But what should be a simple love match turns into much more and Castiel finds himself risking everything to ensure the happiness of his extremely frustrating charge. The Boy Done Wrong Again Rating: Mature Word Count: ~29k Summary: HS!AU. After Castiel lies about losing his virginity he manages to put himself on the high school social map. But after one lie leads to another, to another, to another, he becomes public enemy number one to Raphael and the notorious Bible Club, his best friend stops talking to him, and Dean Winchester keeps showing up everywhere. And so Castiel learns the advantages and disadvantages of being (faux) sexually promiscuous.

DANCER!AU for my dear anon
Title: Adagio   Rating: G Word count: 6,121 Summary: “His name’s Dean,“ Cas sighs, "And he’s really stupidly attractive, and when he dances, he feels it, you know? And it makes me feel like I know him, even though I don’t. He makes me feel like… like he’s dancing just for me.” Gabriel rolls his eyes, “Wow you’re overdramatic when you’re horny.”
Title: Bless the Broken Road Rating: NC-17 Word count: 59,000 Summary: Dean Winchester is thrilled to be the best man at his little brother’s wedding. That is until Sam tells him that Jess has insisted they take dance lessons for the reception. But when Dean meets the dance instructor, Castiel Krushnic, his world gets turned upside down. The men discover that they are both Afghanistan war vets who are dealing with the aftermath of their individual experiences there. These two broken ex-soldiers embark on a project that will help them both face their past and teach them that together they can heal those wounds. This is the story of overcoming trauma, finding love, and facing fears and all of it set to great music.
Title: Dancing on the Head of a Pin Rating: M Word count: 2,992 Summary: Young ballet dancer Castiel Novak, coming from a family of renowned dancers, ends up meeting Dean Winchester, a famous dancer in his own right, when he goes to audition to join a dance company.
Title: El Tango De Amor  Rating: M Word count: 16,401 Summary: Every Tuesday and Thursday, Dean leaves, is gone for two to three hours, and comes home sweaty and exhausted to the apartment he and his brother Sam share. Sam had asked him where he went once, and Dean had said he was working out, which technically wasn’t a lie. What he was doing was definitely giving him a workout, just not in the traditional sense. In all actuality though, Dean was leaving every Tuesday and Thursday for a dance class. A dance class taught by a one Castiel Novak.
Title: Firecracker Blues Rating: M Word count: 10,000 Summary: Dean is reluctant, to say the least, when Jo drags him to a blues dancing club. However, after meeting Castiel, the instructor, Dean learns that dancing isn’t so much about the steps as it is about connection.
Title: Jete  Rating: NC-17 Word count: 10,848 Summary: Castiel has been photographing their ballet company for two years now and he and Dean have barely exchanged six words, and yet somehow when Dean breaks his leg, it’s Castiel who takes him home from the hospital and takes care of him.
Title: Not the One in Your Jewelry Box Rating: G Word count: 1,326 Summary: Castiel becomes infatuated with a dancer he knows nothing about.
Title: Take the Lead Rating: T Word count: 1,731 Summary: Castiel is the dance instructor for ballroom dancing. After one of his students proves to have a difficult time following her partner’s lead, Castiel asks one of his experienced students, Dean, to help him show the class how even someone unused to following can do so in a dance. Except he gets more than he bargains for when Dean decides to mix things up.
