Network Storage

01. Create or navigate to an existing folder to share
02. Right click on the folder ≫ Properties ≫ Sharing tab ≫ Advanced Sharing...
03. Click the Share this folder box
04. Give the share a name (ie VMBackups)
05. Click the Permissions button 06. Remove the Everyone group 07. Add users or groups to allow access to the share 08. Click OK on all open dialog boxes 09. Open a web browser and navigate to the ProxMox web UI 10. Log in 11. Select Datacenter from the left navigation menu 12. Click Storage in the left navigation sub menu 13. Click the Add button ≫ CIFS 14. Complete the Add CIFS form as follows ID: VMBackups Server: 10.10.27.1 Username: i12bretro Password: Share: VMBackups Max Backups: 3 Content: VZDump backup file 15. Click the Add button 16. That's it, ProxMox can now see the network share and it can be used for virtual machine backups

Creating a Backup

Erro na migração de Container
Antes de mais nada, falaremos da correção do erro “Migration aborted. Can’t connect to destination address using public key” ou “Permission denied publickey password” quando vamos migrar uma VM ou container LXC entre hosts Proxmox.
Essa falha gera os erros:
Load key “/root/.ssh/id_rsa”: invalid format
TASK ERROR: migration aborted
ERROR: migration aborted (duration 00:00:00)
Can’t connect to destination address using public key
Problemas de Chave Pública podem gerar uma série de falhas de comunicação de serviços essenciais no Proxmox. Por exemplo, uma simples cópia de container ou VM entre dois nós de um cluster PVE.
Fix Migration Aborted
The Permission denied publickey password problem
Desse modo, o procedimento abaixo, quando executado em todos os nós envolvidos na falha, pode corrigir o problema:
Primeiro precisamos acessar o diretório onde estão armazenadas as chaves públicas do sistema:
#cd /root/.ssh
Agora, movemos a chave rsa para fins de guardar um backup da chave. Poderíamos simplesmente apagar, mas não recomendo:
Primeiro id_rsa
#mv id_rsa id_rsa.old
Em seguida, id_rsa.pub
#mv id_rsa.pub id_rsa.pub.old
Por fim, o arquivo de configuração
#mv config config.old
Para gerar novamente as chaves
#pvecm updatecerts

The Solution
1. First, ensure that passwordless SSH works as expected by logging into one of the Proxmox nodes then accessing the node causing the host key verification issue using the following command:
$ ssh <destination_IP>
2. Add static DNS entries as following in /etc/hosts file or in the DNS servers the Proxmox nodes are pointed to:
X.X.X.X <hostname>
3. Run the following command from the source Proxmox node to copy ssh key for the destination host:
$ ssh-copy-id <destination_hostname>
Note here that do not use the IP address of the destination node. Use hostname only.
4. Test that issue is now fixed by accessing the destination node through SSH using hostname as follows:
$ ssh <destination_hostname>
Tips
Depending on how many nodes are having this issue, you may have to follow this instruction multiple times for the nodes. This solution can also be applied to any Linux distribution having SSH host key verification issue.
