Hi, I don't know how it works very well. But I saw that you are accepting requests, first of all I would like to apologize if you don't understand. English is not my first language and I only know how to speak the basics.
I want a request from Tim Bradford: where he is married to a Brazilian reader who is a surgeon in Los Angeles and she has a 13-year-old son from another marriage, where her ex-husband was a sniper in Iria and he died in battle So her son doesn't like Tim very much, but something happens at the end and they start to get along.
If you can't do it that's ok, thank you anyway. I love your writing. 💙🤗
Sorry again 😫🫶🏽
hi anon!
i find it easier to write based on prompts rather than a detailed request like this, so i'm sorry but i couldn't make this one
feel free to request one for tim using one of the prompts instead though! thanks for dropping by <3

AFTER HOURS by The Weeknd Starters [p.4]
note: change pronouns as needed. mentions of violence, drug abuse, angst, etc.
SAVE YOUR TEARS
I saw you dancing in a crowded room
You look so happy when I’m not with you
I don’t know why I run away
I make you cry when I run away
You could’ve asked me why I broke your heart
You could’ve told me that you fell apart
But you walked past me like I wasn’t there
You just pretended like you didn’t care
Take me back ‘cause I wanna stay
Save your tears for another day
I made you think that I would always stay
I said some things that I should never say
I broke your heart like someone did to mine
I realize that I’m much too late
You deserve someone better
REPEAT AFTER ME (INTERLUDE)
You don’t love him
You don’t love him if you’re thinking of me
You’re just fucking
It means nothing to me
It’s been too long, you changed up over time
Why you gonna even try to hide?
It’s natural to find someone to treat you right
But it ain’t right if you fuck him out of spite
You don’t have to cry, girl, let me wipe your eyes
I promise you will always be mine
AFTER HOURS
Thought I almost died in my dream again
I’m falling in too deep
Without you, I can’t sleep
'Cause my heart belongs to you
I’ll risk it all for you
I want you next to me
This time, I’ll never leave
Your body next to me is just a memory
I felt so alone inside of this crowded room
Different girls on the floor, distracting my thoughts of you
I turned into the man I used to be
Where are you now when I need you most?
I’d give it all just to hold you close
Sorry that I broke your heart
I was running away from facing reality
I want you
I’ll never let you down again, again
I know it’s all my fault
I know I made you fall
I lied to you
I’d stay with her in spite of you
UNTIL I BLEED OUT
I can’t explain why I’m terrified
I’m so terrified
I don’t want to touch the sky no more
I just want to feel the ground when I’m coming down
It’s been way too long
And I don’t even wanna get high no more
I just want it out of my life
I want to cut you out of my dreams
I keep telling myself I don’t need it anymore

Lonely in Misery
Requested Here!
Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!paramedic!reader
Summary: Bailey notices that you're lonely and miserable while Nolan notices the same about Tim. They decide to set you up on a blind date, but it only ends with more sadness.
Warnings: mention of motorcycle accident, pure fluff (the title and summary are misleading, my bad)
Word Count: 2.0k+ words
A/N: @newobsessionweekly here's some soft Tim if you're interested🥰
Masterlist | Tim Bradford Masterlist | Request Info/Fandom List
Tumblr media
“Let’s go!” your chief calls. “Motorcycle accident on Wilshire.”
You nod as you gather your equipment. Being a paramedic is stressful, but you work with an amazing team. It’s too bad you don’t have the same kind of community in your personal life. Working with your best friends is great until you can’t hang out or talk to anyone because they’re on different shifts.
“Single rider?” you ask as you climb into the ambulance.
“Dispatch didn’t say. Only called for one ambulance, so I assume,” your chief replies.
“Hey, maybe it’ll be a single guy and you can nurse him back to health and finally get a date,” your teammate in the driver’s seat jokes.
“Ignore him,” Bailey says, rolling her eyes.
“Ignore who?” you tease.
As the BLS rescue ambulance pulls out, you sit back in your seat.
“Are you okay?” Bailey asks softly.
“Fine,” you reply. “Just… I don’t know.”
“I get it. We, uh, we haven’t been able to hang out in a while. What have you been up to?”
“Nothing. Work, eat, workout, sleep, repeat.”
“Yeah, you’ve been kind of mopey.” She reaches her hand toward you and smiles when you lay your hand in hers. “This job is hard enough without being lonely. Why don’t you go on a date or just go hang out somewhere, meet somebody?”
You shake your head and brush off her concern with a half-true promise, “I’ll be fine. I’m looking forward to when our schedules give us time to be friends again. If I can get out away from Nolan, of course.”
Bailey smiles and rolls her eyes but squeezes your hand reassuringly. You know she isn’t convinced that you’re fine. Your job is more important, though, so you decide to focus on the motorcycle rider who needs your help rather than the empty home, the empty life you’ll go home to after your shift ends.
Tumblr media
“Hey!” Tim yells harshly. “Socialize on your own time, boot!”
His new rookie ducks his head and walks quickly after abandoning his conversation. Tim has been grumpier than usual lately, and he’s taking it out on everyone in the station. When he yelled at Sergeant Grey, who only shook his head and told Tim to take a breather, Nolan knew what was happening.
“He’s lonely, right?” Nolan asks Angela.
“Incredibly,” she answers without hesitation. “It’s been worse, though, so his sports buddies must have gotten busy, married, something.”
Nolan nods. He has an idea, but he knows better than to suggest Tim go on a date where he could overhear or be told. As he walks toward his shop, Nolan makes a mental note to ask Bailey if she knows anyone who would be willing to go on a date with Mid-Wilshire’s resident grump.
“Do I look like I care about your engagement party?” Tim asks across the garage.
Tumblr media
“Hey,” Nolan says as he walks into the house.
“Hi,” Bailey replies.
Nolan hugs Bailey and sighs against her.
“I need your help with something,” Bailey says.
“Anything,” Nolan replies as he steps back. “But I need a favor, too.”
“My best friend is lonely and needs a date.”
Nolan’s brows raise as he adds, “My coworker is lonely and needs a date.”
“Did we just plan a blind date in under thirty seconds? Are we really that good?”
“Depends. Is your friend interested in someone like Tim Bradford?”
Bailey considers the pairing for a moment but smiles as she pictures you balancing Tim and him providing an edge that you haven’t experienced in years.
“Oh, yeah,” Bailey decides. “She’ll be interested.”
“Great! Now I just have to convince him to actually go on the date,” Nolan muses.
“Good luck.” Bailey laughs before she realizes, “I have to get her to let me set her up too.”
“Well, if she’s anything like Tim, appeal to her misery.”
“Yeah, because it’s better than absolutely nothing and complete unhappiness is the perfect way to pitch a date,” Bailey scoffs. “I’ll get my friend there, and you convince Tim your way.”
“I hope this works,” they say together.
Tumblr media
“What’d you do last night?” Bailey asks as you exit the locker room.
You step back in surprise at being ambushed the moment you arrive but recover quickly. “I made dinner, watched a movie, and went to bed. Why?”
“Because you’ve got a date tonight, so we’re switching it up.”
“Bailey,” you begin.
“No, no, hear me out before you decline. Please? I’m doing this as your best friend, I promise.”
“Okay,” you sigh. “Pitch this guy. But, Bailey Nune, if you say it’s Nolan’s brother Pete I will find a new best friend.”
“Oh, no. I love you, I would never do that. Besides, the whole point of a blind date is that I don’t tell you the guy’s name. But…” She raises her finger to emphasize as she adds, “Nolan and I both know him well and he’s a great guy.”
“You’re gonna have to give me more. I don’t want to go on a date just to say that I didn’t spend another night alone, Bailey.”
“Completely. I know you, though, okay, and this guy he’s- he can do and be everything you want. The romance, the connection, the best friend that is also your life partner, what you are looking for in a guy, this is it. I promise. And, if I’m wrong, I’ll bail you out of the date and I will clean your equipment for the rest of the month.”
You purse your lips as you think about her offer. She does know exactly what you want in a man, and you trust Bailey’s judgement. “Fine. I’ll go on the date.”
“Yes!” Bailey cheers as she hugs you. “I’m so glad. You’ll feel so much better after you’re not miserable and lonely anymore.”
“You should’ve been a motivational speaker,” you deadpan. “Now don’t mention it again until we get off. This can’t be the topic of conversation for the rest of the day; I’ll never live it down.”
“I’ll stay quiet and think of the perfect outfit for you,” Bailey says as she follows you into the heart of the station.
Tumblr media
“Officer Bradford,” Nolan calls as he walks across the bullpen.
“Yeah?” Tim asks.
“I’ve got a proposition for you. Or a question, idea, whatever you want to call it.”
“Then spit it out, Nolan.”
“Right, yes, sir. Bailey has a single friend, and we want to set you up on a blind date.”
Tim’s face remains impassive as he shakes his head. “Pass. Ask Aaron.”
“No, Tim, I’m asking you.”
“And I’m not interested,” Tim argues.
“Look, you’re lonely and miserable, so you’re making all of us miserable. I know you – sort of – and I know this woman. She could be really good for you.”
“If you’re wrong? Because I think you are.”
“Then leave the date! You’re not losing anything more than a few hours.”
Tim takes a deep breath before he asks, “Why do you think she’d be good for me?”
“She can be the balance that you need, and she understands some of what we deal with daily.”
“Don’t tell me she’s a lawyer.”
“Oh, no, I know better than that. So… is that a yes?”
“It’s a hesitant yes,” Tim answers. “When?”
“Tonight.”
Tim nods once before he walks away to reprimand a rookie. Nolan watches him yell and hopes that he and Bailey are right. Because if they’re wrong and the date goes poorly, Tim will be worse in the morning.
Tumblr media
You sit in the front of the restaurant and await your date. Bailey said he’d arrive after you. She never explained how you were supposed to find each other, though. As you watch people come and go, you grow discouraged. You shift your attention from the door to your hands. Several minutes pass before the door opens again, and you look up but don’t expect anything.
“Tim?” you ask.
You’ve seen Tim Bradford several times in passing. At wrecks, crime scenes, and various Los Angeles law enforcement meetings. He’s always been kind to you, and you remember that you may have mentioned finding him attractive to Bailey before.
“I’ll assume you’re my blind date, then,” Tim replies. He smiles as he adds, “I’m not as disappointed as I expected to be.”
“Wow,” you say through laughter. “If I’d known you were such a flirt, I would’ve asked Bailey to set us up sooner.”
Tim shakes his head, and you join his side as he gives his name to the hostess. As you walk to the table, a sudden awkwardness descends. There’s no good way to begin a conversation on a blind date, you realize. Tim takes his hand against the menu but looks similarly lost about what to say.
“I guess being lonely and desperate worked in my favor,” you joke.
“Oh, I can guarantee that I was lonelier and more desperate,” Tim replies. “Nolan used that to convince me to come tonight; said I was making everyone else miserable with my misery.”
The mood lightens with your playful jokes, and you smile at Tim.
“Since you’ve had to pull an arson suspect off me before, should we skip the small talk?” you ask Tim over your menu. “Or do this the normal way?”
“There’s nothing normal about this,” Tim comments.
Your phone buzzes in your bag, but the Are you still miserable? text from Bailey goes unread.
“Okay, I hate this,” you murmur as you set the menu aside. “Can I just sit beside you?”
Tim’s smile grows as he stands and offers his hand. Once you’re seated beside him, where you don’t have to lean across the table to talk, you don’t even remember the miserable feeling that led Bailey to set this date up.
Tim leans over to whisper, “I’m glad I agreed to the date,” and you move closer to him as you answer, “Me too.”
Tumblr media
As you walk out of the restaurant with your hand in Tim’s and a joyful smile on your face, you don’t want the night to end.
“Same time next week?” you ask as Tim slows.
“What about the same time another day this week?” he suggests. “I had a great time, and I want to go out again. If that’s what you want, of course.”
You pull your phone out and hand it to Tim, ignoring Bailey’s text. He puts his number in and texts himself, so he has your number, too. You grow giddy, something you thought was a thing of your past.
“I think this is the best date I’ve ever been on,” you tell Tim as you begin walking again. “Thank you.”
“Nolan and Bailey are gonna take credit if we tell them the blind date worked,” Tim points out.
“Yeah,” you agree, drawing out the word. “But I don’t think I can hide how happy tonight made me. Not from Bailey, at least.”
Tim nods like he understands as you stop. You turn to face him, and he raises the hand that isn’t in yours to hold your cheek. There isn’t a question or doubt in your mind as you kiss Tim. What was supposed to be a date to cheer you up and get you back out of your mundane, lonely life is already becoming so much more. As Tim releases your hand to hold you and pull you closer, your entire world brightens. Neither you nor Tim are lonely, let alone miserable, with the prospect of a new relationship with one another. You pull back when you can’t stop smiling against Tim’s lips.
“Thanks,” you whisper.
“For what?”
“All of it.”
Tim smiles and brushes his thumb under your bottom lip. “If I don’t see you before Friday, I’m looking forward to our date. And I’ll pick you up at the fire station.”
“Are you sure about that?” you question. “Bailey will tell John.”
“They’ll have to learn sooner rather than later that there’s no room for them in our relationship.”
Your smile grows at our relationship, but you lick your lips to keep your excitement from showing. “They’re both born meddlers.”
“Let’s stop talking about them,” Tim murmurs as he leans in again.
Tumblr media
Bonus:
When you arrive home, you see the text from Bailey and answer: More miserable than you can imagine. I’m going to sleep to escape it. Sure, you left off the part about being sad because the date ended, but she’ll find out soon enough.

ALWAYS ━━ Antonio Dawson x fem!reader
Tumblr media
author's note; first songfic so i consider this an experiment lol. i'm also not so sure of a timeline especially for eva and diego's ages so let's just go with it
prompts; always — gavin james (song)
summary; antonio left without a word for years, leaving her clueless and heartbroken. but sometimes, all you need is a little time to heal without ever forgetting one another
━━ ☄. *. ⋆
“What am I supposed to do without you?
Is it too late to pick the pieces up?
Too soon to let them go?”
He was gone.
Antonio had left without a word. She knew he was struggling. With his messed up shoulder and the rabbit hole of oxycodone, she knew he was at his breaking point.
But she never realised they were at their breaking point too. It was like it had been so easy for him to just leave that way. Leave Chicago and never look back. He didn't even have the decency to say goodbye to her.
It was Voight who told her. Who looked her in the eyes to tell her her partner had sent in his papers and left. Who offered her a day off because everyone knew how close they were.
They weren't dating. But they were something. And they were so close to everything but he just disappeared.
She couldn't help but ponder; what if she'd taken that leap of faith and just held him close? Let him into her heart and soul and give him everything that she was. Maybe he would have stayed. Maybe he would've let her help him.
Or maybe it was never an option. Maybe she never stood a chance. She'll never know.
“And this feels like drowning
Trouble sleeping
Restless dreaming”
Antonio had been in Puerto Rico for months now. The different environment did him good. The new faces and new job with Gabby's crisis response team.
He was doing well. Or at least, he was trying.
But everytime he laid in his bed at night, he dreamt of her. Of what they could've been.
It would always end up with him sitting up in cold sweat, his hand gripping onto the chain around his neck — the dog tags hanging from it. He'd never forget the day he got it. A stupid little joke but now it was so much more than that.
She couldn't stop giggling. His eyes narrowed as he stared at her, holding the little box in his hands.
“Alright, what the hell is so funny?” Antonio questioned as he shook the box.
“Open it! You'll see,” she laughed.
He couldn't help but smile. This woman had only been in intelligence for a year by his side, and yet she'd managed to put so many marks in his life. She was like a walking sun. Always so positive and bubbly.
How could he not keep her?
He opened the box, wondering what sort of Christmas present she'd gotten for him. She had matching sweaters with the girls, cute mugs for the guys. But for him it seemed different.
A chain. Two tags dangling at the end of it. One with his name and badge number engraved, the other with hers — along with a small note at the bottom that said ‘the best partner ever’.
Thinking back to it now, he knew she was right. Because she was the best partner in every sense of the word. He'd gone through many different partners in his career, but none ever reached out to him the way she did.
And it still haunted him that he had the heart to just leave her without so much of an explanation.
“You're in my head
Always, always
I just got scared
Away, away”
It was a bad case. A terrible one that will forever plague them both.
A child trafficking ring that was spread out wide all over the country. And even if they did manage to bring it down at the end — it was brutal. The image of the children that didn't make it, or the ones that did but will forever be traumatized, it hurt them deeply.
It was the first time she'd come to his apartment. The first time he held her in his arms. The first time she cried to him.
They shared a bottle of wine that night. The tv playing some soap opera neither of them bothered to pay attention to. Instead they were quiet. They sat together on his couch, a comfortable silence wrapping them both up.
They'd been partners for nearly two years then. And when he turned to look at her, the lights from the tv casting a soft glow over her features — her hair down, eyes a little bloodshot and yet the most relaxed he'd ever seen of her — he knew he was in trouble.
He knew he was in love where he shouldn't be.
“I'd rather choke on my bad decisions
Than just carry them to my grave
You're in my head
Always, always, always”
Three years of being his partner, meant three years of knowing the good and bad of each other.
She'd accepted it. She knew he had his pressure points. She knew he could get temperamental. She knew he preferred to colour within the lines — even if it was practically impossible when you're working under Hank Voight.
She also knew how he liked his coffee. She knew how he preferred phone calls over voice notes. She knew he'd rather have a night in with some microwaved pizza than to be out in town at some fancy restaurant.
She knew him like the back of her hand. And she knew he was going to jump in to save that kid from the line of fire, using his own body as a shield. Which was why she knew she had to take the kill shot to save her partner and the victim.
It didn't matter that they were in public. That civilians were around. She saw the suspect raise his gun after letting the kid go. She saw Antonio rush to grab the kid, his gun still in his holster. And she saw the way Antonio was directly in the line of fire.
One loud shot rang through the air, and the suspect was down with a bullet to the brain.
She'd never forget that. She was never the kind to easily pull the trigger on the job. In fact, out of all of them, she was the one least likely to even use her gun. But she didn't regret anything. She didn't even blink when she pulled the trigger and killed that man.
Because the alternative was so much worse. And she knew right then, she'd do anything for her partner.
Even now, years later, it was still something that haunted her. Not the fact she killed someone on the job. But the fact that she killed for him.
He'd been gone for two years now. Somewhere in the Bahamas, apparently. Gabby had come down to Chicago to visit — and the two women caught up for a quick chat.
“He's doing well,” Gabby had told her. “He joined a crisis response team in the Bahamas. But I know he misses Chicago.”
He misses you, was what Gabby wanted to say, but she refrained. Especially when she noticed the charm bracelet on the other woman's wrist.
The one Antonio had gifted her all those years ago. The one with an anchor charm on it because at the end of the day, they always kept each other grounded.
Gabby knew then that both her brother and her friend were nowhere near forgetting one another.
“I remember we were strangers
So tell me what's the difference
Between then and now”
Six years of being away finally brought him back to Chicago. It didn't seem like a lot had changed but he knew it had.
He remembered what it was like to live here. As he sat in the back of the cab, watching the city pass by, he remembered the times he used to drive them around the city when they were working.
“You're being overdramatic,” she chastised.
“I’m being realistic. You should never hold a steering wheel again!” Antonio exclaimed.
They'd have this quarrel at least once a month. But Antonio never budged. He'd never let her drive.
“It was one time, and it was warranted! We were chasing a suspect, how was I meant to follow rules?” she argued again as he laughed at her words.
“You used the car as a weapon against the suspect by ramming him and his car into a brick wall. You're lucky no one took action on you.”
“It was a good bust!”
Antonio found himself smiling softly as he recalled the memory. His hand absentmindedly went over his heart, before finding his chain and fiddling with it.
He wondered if she was well. She probably was. But did she find someone? Maybe she'd settled down. She always wanted a nice little house with a little family.
God, was she a mother now? With who? There were so many questions that he hadn't even noticed the cab had stopped at his destination. He left a tip, getting out and entering the coffee shop.
The one he always went to to get her complicated coffee order that no other coffee shop managed to get right except this one — even if it was a whole different way to work. He'd stop and get it for her everytime.
He got in line, focused on his phone as well as glancing up at the menu from time to time. Nothing about this little place had changed and that made him glad. It was still familiar.
It was when he reached the counter, about to say his order when he heard it. Her name. Called out by the barista who'd prepared her order.
He looked over, and he'd recognise her anywhere. Her hair was short now, stopping over her shoulders. Her smile was still the same, just as soft as before as she took the coffee from the barista.
She looked good. She always did but the years seemed to do her well.
She didn't notice him. Not yet. It was when she was heading for the sugar packs by the main counter that she glanced over. Then she did a double take.
Their eyes locked and it felt like a movie. Like a music video of some sort as she felt a rush. It was like a sudden jolt was sent through her every nerve and her whole body tingled.
He looked older. His jaw was covered with stubble and his hair had grown out a little. It wasn't immaculately styled as it usually was. But the leather jacket was still him. He never ditched that.
His eyes were still the same dark ones. The ones that always reminded her of the night sky.
It felt like she was staring at a stranger. But this stranger knew everything about her, didn't he?
“I know there's nothing left to cling to
But I'm still calling out your name
You're in my head
Always, always, always”
He should really leave her alone.
Yes. That was the best thing to do. The smart thing to do.
She walked out the door so quickly it was like she was running away from him. A few seconds passed before he went right after her.
He'd called out her name. Jogging up the sidewalk to reach her despite his better judgement.
She exhaled slowly, pausing as she glanced at him.
Six years of no contact and suddenly he was back in Chicago. Suddenly he was right here in front of her and she wasn't sure if she wanted to shoot him or hug him.
They stood on the sidewalk, finally facing each other. He'd practiced what he wanted to say. But every vocabulary he'd ever known seemed to escape him as he looked into her eyes.
He couldn't say a word. He didn't dare. And if she wanted to slap him he wouldn't have faulted her.
“Was it worth it?”
It was her who broke the silence. The six years they'd gone without saying a word to one another or even knowing about each other — broken by a simple question.
He blinked. He looked down, his hands slipping into his pockets. He was anxious. He wasn't sure what to do with himself.
“Yes,” he answered. “And no.”
He sighed, shaking his head.
“I got clean. It was good. But… it wasn't what I wanted,” he said softly.
She looked up at him, her eyes almost blank. But there was still that familiar softness in them that made him realise she didn't hate him.
Or at least, to a certain degree.
“Why are you in Chicago?” she then asked, glancing away briefly before looking at him again.
She felt like someone was picking the skin of a fresh wound that was starting to heal. Seeing him seemed to do that.
“Eva's graduating. I'm here for her,” he answered after a beat.
She nodded. He was here for his kid's graduation, of course. Not for her.
“Tell her I said congrats,” she then said with another nod.
For a moment they just stood there and stared at each other, drinking one another in like they'd been deprived of water for days and finally got a sip. It was frustrating because he wanted nothing more than to reach out and touch her. Hug her like he used to be able to without even thinking.
Now it was like they were strangers that just started to know each other. Like they were nothing before this when they were so close to being everything.
He took a step forward. She stayed put.
Then his arms curled around her and pulled her in. He breathed her in, his eyes closing as the familiar sweet floral scent invaded his senses.
She froze. Her head was buried in the crook of his neck. Her eyes were closed as she inhaled deeply. His warmth was familiar. His cologne was familiar. Everything about him felt like coming home after a long day at work.
“It's been too long,” he mumbled against her hair.
Her arms slowly circled his middle, finally holding onto him.
They both knew it couldn't go back to normal so easily. But they were willing to allow this moment of a reunion. This brief moment of peace as they held onto each other after years.
The long years of torment where they were constantly living in each other's minds and dreams. But he needed to get better. And to get better, he had to leave.
He's back now, better than he was when he left. And for now, that was enough. That was the silver lining of all the pain and torture.
“I'll make up for it. I promise,” he vowed.

Our blood is burning.
Acquaintances to lovers, kissing, fluff & angst, fem!reader.
I talked to @idaofinfinity about my fic involving reader being taught darts. I remember her encouraging response, so I finally finished it.
1,124 words.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’d never felt seen, growing up in a house of ten children. But every night, Billy would come into the bar, bringing in the cold with him, and slide into the booth next to you, despite there being room next to Maria.
His knee would knock yours, and you’d shyly push back, a comfort feeling his leg against yours, that you were real, tangible.
They’d all talk about things you had no knowledge of, but you were just happy to be included.
And then he touched your knee as Maria and Frank moved to the pool tables, “Wanna split some onion rings with me?” Billy hummed in your ear, trying to be heard over the noise.
Your cheeks warmed, “Okay.”
“You likin’ New York, mouse?” He asked, dipping his onion rings in the sauce.
“Mouse?” You squeaked, turning to mush when your fingers bumped his as you grabbed an onion ring.
He smiled indulgently. “You’re like a timid little mouse, sweet.”
You swallowed, cheeks hot, “New York is loud. I miss the quiet life in the countryside, the stars in the sky at night. You can’t see the stars in the city.” You said softly, heart racing when you realized he paid more attention to you than you realized.
“Sweet country mouse, huh?” He teased you, nudging you with his knee playfully.
“Destructive city cat, you’ll claw my furniture up, and then bite me,” you shot back.
Billy laughed richly. “Only if you ask nicely. But be careful, cats eat mice.” He said, licking his finger, getting the sauce off. He smiled slyly at you, as though knowing where your mind was.
You pressed your thighs together, understanding the double entendre.
You wanted a taste of him, too.
An hour later, Billy had you in stitches over pranks he’d pulled in the Marines.
“I put scorpions in Frankie’s bed one time. His ass got stung, and my commanding officer was not amused. I’d never run so many laps.” Billy recalled, his finger dipped in the sauce, before he stuck it in his mouth, enjoying your laughter, admitting inwardly it was nice.
“Did he get you back?” You asked, elbow bumping his elbow, and your skin tingled where he’d touched you.
Billy huffed, leaning just a little closer to you, and you could smell his cologne, a musk, “Motherfucker got me back, put beetles in my bed. ‘Course, everyone thought Curt was the responsible one.” He said, sipping his beer.
“Isn’t he, though?” You teased sweetly.
Billy snorted; “Yeah. Goody two shoes.”
You giggled as Billy grinned; “Man, we did so much shit to each other. We lost count of who was ahead in our prank war. Curt thought we were being childish.”
“You must be close,” you murmured, you’d never been close to anyone, maybe Maria, but you’d always struggled socially. You had been largely ignored in your family, forgotten child number five. The middle child, never truly wanted.
But it felt as easy as breathing with Billy.
“To Frankie? Yeah, he’s my brother.” Billy smiled fondly.
“I used to skateboard down this hill where I lived. It was really steep. I always got bloodied up, but it didn’t stop me.” You said, remembering your mother’s house, and the bad memories that followed. But it didn’t stop you from loving the countryside, being free of societal expectations and pressures. You could just lay in the grass and dream, and think, and write in your journal while your cat, Molly caught mice, bringing them to you for head scratches.
Billy smirked; “Daredevil, huh?” He teased you.
You smiled, inwardly hoping you could do this with Billy again, tired of feeling lonely.
“More like dumb,” you said, tone self deprecating.
Billy tucked a stray hair behind your ear, and you were sure you looked like a deer caught in the headlights, “You felt free though, flying down that hill, didn’t you?” You were disappointed when he pulled his hand away.
You grabbed his hand, pulling it back. “Don’t stop.” You said, softly.
Billy hummed, thumb stroking your bottom lip, a frown creasing his brow, “You make me want more.” He said, looking frustrated.
“Is that a bad thing?” You asked softly, leaning closer to him, making him mirror your action.
“Yeah.” He husked, kissing your cheek anyway, attachments be damned, but he wanted you.
Your heart dropped, and you lowered your eyes. He tilted your chin up, “My ma safe havened me at a fire station in Albany. I learned at a young age that nothin’ lasts.”
You felt your throat constricting at the image of little Billy being left. “But doesn’t it make it sweeter?” You asked, lips quivering.
His thumb caught your tears. “Yeah, mouse. It does.” He agreed.
Billy was trying to teach you darts. You were entirely too focused on Billy and his forearms, however. His sweater pulled up to his elbows, making you want. He threw one with a thunk and it hit the bullseye, staying there.
“Your turn, mouse.”
You took the dart from him, fingers tingling as they brushed his.
You threw it like he showed you, it slapped the target and fell to the floor pathetically.
He booped your nose, laughing. “You’re terrible at this.” He teased you.
He threw another one. It hit the target and stayed.
You glared, when the next one you threw clung pathetically to the edge of the board.
Billy smirked and stepped behind you, holding your arm, and helping you aim. His hands drifted to your hips. “Throw it with some force, mouse.”
You tried, a little too focused on his hands on your hips, the warmth of his touch. It knocked the other one off the board, before falling to the floor itself.
Billy chuckled; “Goddamn, you’re bad. But it’s funny.” He said, pinching your sides.
You glared, “I may not be able to throw a dart, but I can count stitches and crotchet my ass off, Mr. Marine.”
Billy smirked; “Yes ma’am.”
“You should buy me a drink for being so mean.” You teased him, lightly.
“Sure, mouse.” He said amused, kissing your cheek, making your face heat up.
You looked away, feeling suddenly very shy, and Billy grabbed your chin, making you look at him. “You’re pretty cute Miss Crochet-My-Ass-Off.”
You bit your lip, and his eyes were drawn to the action. “Stop that,” he said roughly, pulling your lip from your teeth, before he kissed your mouth.
He tasted the onion rings on your tongue, his kisses were between soft and sweet, and hard. He pulled back smiling as you chased his mouth. “How about that drink?” He husked.
“Yes, please.” You said, heart thudding in your chest.
He grabbed your hand, pulling you along.
You followed, happily.

messy chaotic ‘we’re terrible for each other but can’t keep our hands off each other’ prompts
oh hello i am in fact alive
“do you ever actually think before speaking? like is your brain capable of processing a thought??” “yeah, it’s just immune to idiotic ones”
“take that back” “prove me wrong” (or; a cliché ‘make me’)
being in some sort of intense slightly pointless staring match (after an argument, preferably) and just saying “oh fuck it who cares” and pulling their neck down to kiss them
“do you the sex would be boring if we didn’t argue before it every time?” “i mean, we could always argue during”
^or, alt: doing it once when you’re not arguing instead kinda tipsy but not drunk, and it’s all giggles and laughter and sweet nothings and the next morning being like “oh fuck i actually like them”
“why does everything with you have to be so difficult!?” “it’s fun getting you all riled up”
“oh, if i had known that’s all it would take for you to shut up i would’ve done this ages ag-“ “only finish that sentence if you have a death wish”
“you’re doing it wrong” “jesus, would you just relax” “no because i’m wasting my tim- oh, oh my god-” the other character smirking, “don’t look so smug” “i think i’ve earned the right, now just trust me, okay? believe it or not, i want to make you feel good”
“so you’ll finally stop being an asshole and just sign the document?” “keep doing this and i’ll sell you my house”
getting jealous and the other character pretending that it’s unreasonable, but secretly character A is the only one they feel a spark with. the only one they feel excited to be around
“we should probably stop this” “yeah” … “we’re not going to though, right?” “oh absolutely not”
“nope no nada, no using sex to get me to do things you want, it’s not going to work anymore”
“you really are a fucking asshole aren’t you?” “yes, i believe that’s what’s on my resume”
“i hate you” “i know” “and that won’t change” “i know” “and you’re still okay with this?” no “yes”
“imagine a universe where we didn’t hate each other, that would be so-“ “boring?” “yeah! like imagine not bickering over tiny things, that’s no fun”
“she says we bicker like an old married couple”
talking with a friend; “you shouldn’t go there” “i know” “and you shouldn’t sleep with them” “i know” “it’s a bad idea” “i know” “well. will you?” “..yeah”
“i know we’re terrible for each other but every time i look at them it’s just like my brain flies out the window and my hormones take over”
“we’re broken up, it’s just two friends going out for drinks, okay?” ending up in one’s bed, but alright
“did you sleep together?” “noooo, i just-“ “tripped on a stone and accidentally dailed his number which magically led to you two meeting at a pub and you just magically teleported to your bedroom without your clothes on? yeah, thought so”

DESERVING ━━ Antonio Dawson x fem!reader
Tumblr media
author's note; this one has been in my drafts for a while and honestly i have mixed feelings about it. but oh well, i might as well just put it out lol enjoy <3
summary; antonio had only ever been casual with her, but called it quits a while ago. only to come back after a rough case, finally realising it wasn't so casual after all
━━ ☄. *. ⋆
Molly's wasn't as crowded that night. She sat at the bar, nursing a drink in her hand as she rested her head in her palm with her elbow on the bartop. After a long day of back-to-back surgeries at Med, all she needed was a drink to wind down.
For the past couple of months, that drink was with some company. Tonight, it went back to the usual routine.
She wasn't sure where any of it went wrong. She hardly even realized there was anything wrong, really. Maybe it just wasn't right.
She took a large swig of her drink at the thought. The only thing that kept her mind off him had been her patients. Now that she didn't have that, she zeroed back into him without wanting to.
He'd consumed her entirely in the short months they were together. She should've known better. Getting involved with a man recently divorced – what was she thinking?
It felt so good to just be wrapped up in someone after long, awful shifts. And it was a win-win situation. She wasn't the only one benefiting from it.
Refusing to sit at the bar any longer, she shot her drink down in one go and left some cash on the bar. Usually she'd be chatting with Hermann before she left. Not tonight.
She didn't want to drive after that. Maybe she'd only had about two glasses, but she didn't want to take any chances. So she walked. She'd take her car in the morning.
Her apartment was just down the block anyway. It hardly took her more than five minutes to get back there.
Fiddling through the keys in her hands, she turned down the hallway towards her door. Stopping short when she looked up, very nearly dropping her keys.
“Antonio?”
Her voice came out uncertain.
He turned instantly. His fist dropped, he was just about to knock on her door.
For a moment the man just stood there and looked at her. He put his hands back into the pockets of his coat, rocking on his heels slightly as he cleared his throat.
“Hey,” he greeted.
Hearing his voice again seemed to sober her up suddenly – if she was even that tipsy in the first place. The last time they'd spoken to each other was three weeks ago. The time he hit the brakes on what they had.
“Hi,” she nodded.
Antonio hesitated. He dropped his gaze for a second, before shrugging lightly.
“Look, I uh–”
He met her gaze. She hadn't moved an inch. They were facing each other in the hallway of the apartment.
“I just wanted to check on you,” he admitted gently. “It's been a… rough day.”
She nodded slowly. It had been a rough day, for sure.
Bomb threats all over important locations in the city. Police stations, schools, hospitals – Chicago Med was the very last. They may have mostly been a hoax, but Intelligence didn't take it lightly.
Antonio's team was all over it. The second one of those bombs was real, dropped off at the park just within half a mile radius from Chicago Med – they went head first to find the perp. He ran with his team to investigate it all, while she was busy rushing the victims through surgery.
“It was,” she agreed. “It was rough.”
The keys tapped along her palm lightly as she looked at him. Neither of them seemed to be able to tear their gazes away.
“And how are you?” she then asked softly.
Antonio only stared at her. He looked tired. Like he always did after long cases like this one. These bomb hoaxes had been going on for weeks. It was only today that something truly happened.
And while they haven't found the perp, he took a small step back and let his team play their part as well.
“I've been better,” he replied.
She let out a slow breath. Holding the key in one hand, she gestured to her door lightly.
“Wanna come in?” she offered.
She wasn't sure why she did that. If it was even a good idea after everything.
After all, it was him who said they should stop. That it wasn't the right time for either of them. That they should probably work out their own careers first.
Antonio took a beat. His lips parted to speak as he looked at her, then he glanced at her door.
“Is that okay?” he asked.
She only stepped past him in response, unlocking her door and stepping in. Holding the door open to the side, she gestured for him to enter.
The place was just like he remembered. Although, he doubted much would change in merely three weeks. They ended up standing on two different sides of her kitchen counter, a bottle of beer in each of their hands.
Antonio glanced around the place, his fingers lightly tapping on his beer bottle.
“You finally got the heater to work,” he commented.
She'd been having an issue with her heater forever, it felt like. But now as he stood there, he realized it was warmer here despite the cold outside.
She hummed, nodding as she took a sip of her beer.
“I got a new one,” she replied. “Nothing lasts forever, right?”
Their eyes met. Something about what she said made them both pause and think. She didn't mean to imply anything, but she noticed what she did a second too late. Her eyes dropped and she took another sip of her beer, no longer knowing what to do with herself.
Antonio was just as bad. But he did know how he felt, at least.
“We were good together,” he spoke softly, breaking the sudden silence.
She paused. His words were like a wound in salt.
He knew he shouldn't. He shouldn't be pushing after he was the one that had broken her. But he couldn't stop himself. Suddenly he was around the counter, beer bottle abandoned as his hand reached up to cup her cheek.
When she looked up at him it was with those same doe eyes he fell for. The ones that made his blood rush and heart pumping. The ones that felt like a breath of fresh air after being cooped up for so long.
“I messed up. And instead of fixing it, I made it worse,” he told her. “And I'm sorry. I don't say it as often as I should, but I'm telling you and I mean it. I'm sorry.”
The words hung heavy in the air for a moment as she simply stared up at him with her soft, tender eyes. There was a clear hurt still in them and it made his heart clench.
“I don't deserve you. I really don't. But God if you let me, I'm willing to put in the work. To be the man deserving of you. I just… I just need your word. And your time of day.”
When he continued, she didn't even notice the way her eyes watered. This was the most vulnerable this man had ever been with her. Her heart was thundering as she realised she never got over him. And she knows she never will.
She didn't say a word. She didn't give him an answer, not verbally. Instead, her hands reached up for his jacket to tug him down gently so their lips could meet.
And when she kissed him it was with everything she had. It wasn't lustful or hungry. It was pure love and desire. A yearning that never once faded.
When he kissed her back, she knew then. It was undeniable — she was his. And he was undoubtedly hers.
