Kris doesn't NEED to remove their soul.
So, this is a short one, something i was thinking about earlier today was, hey, kris moves a lot, even when they have the soul inside them don't they?
Let me show you a few examples of this, before i get into my reasoning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the two moments leading up to them ripping their soul out, obviously they wouldn't be able to rip it out, if they couldn't move at all before hand.
Tumblr media
This is kris defending susie of their own free will, implying, that they could maybe even FIGHT without us.
Tumblr media
This is kris backing away from spamton on their own, to be fair, frisk also does this when omega flowey appears, so this might be instinctual and not of their own volition.
Tumblr media
And finally, this is kris turning around AWAY from the player, perhaps to not show their face or emotions to us, theres also a scene from the weird route, where they turn around from us, and refuse to show us susie and noelle, but i'm kinda lazy so i didnt feel like grabbing that one.
The point i wanted to make here, was that kris has a LOT of autonomy, even when the soul is inside them, so why do they feel the need to rip out their soul at all? To risk DYING? They don't feel the need to rip out their soul in less dire circumstances, so why do they always do it at the end of a chapter?
I get the reason from a meta perspective, it's to show kris is doing these actions of their own volition, separate from the player, aka the soul.
But what's the in-canon reason?
I came up with a couple of my own explanations for it, if any of you have your own your more than welcome to add on.
My first explanation is as follows: This is SUPER meta but, maybe kris needs to TRIGGER a CUTSCENE in order to move around, think about it, in literally every other screenshot i showed you besides the ones where they rip out their soul, someone else had triggered a cutscene, and kris could move in it, maybe kris can ONLY move in a cutscenes as a protagonist, maybe ripping out their soul is the only way they can trigger such a thing, but like i said, this is pretty meta, so i would get if you don't believe this.
The second explanation is as follows: Maybe kris doesnt want us to SEE what they are doing, but could do it regardless of us being in them, this is the one that is least believable in my opinion, mostly because like, at the end of chapter 2, they arnt even trying to hide what they are doing from us, but i mean, they HAVE hidden stuff from us before, so it wouldn't exactly be out of character for them to do, maybe they thought we couldn't see inside the couch cushions?
The third, and final explanation i have, is as follows: Yes they can move with us in them, and has SOME degree of autonomy even while we are controlling them, but it's not enough to do what they WANT to do, this is probably the most believable, maybe they don't have FULL control over themselves when we are in them, only able to make minor movements or actions, and they NEED to rip out their soul to travel further, and do some other stuff like open dark fountains, after all, determination is ones very will, you wouldn't be able to open a dark fountain with someone ELSES will inside you, someone who doesn't WANT TO do that, could you?
Anyway, this is just a thought I had, sorry, I really thought this was gonna be shorter, but once I start typing, I can't really stop haha.
Uh, feel free to leave your own thoughts or ideas about this in comments or reblogs, sorry for not posting in so long, life has gotten... Busy, and I don't have as much free time as I used to.

You know something I was thinking about the other day in regard to the other world sans theory, you know how the newsletter hinted at papyrus also being from another world?
It got me thinking about neutral runs, and why Sans's mental stability is affected so much by whether papyrus is alive or not, like even if everyone else is dead, he's pretty chill as long as papyrus is around, and even if everyone else is alive, he's pretty pissed even if you ONLY killed papyrus.
Now that could just be because papyrus is his brother, having close family around can help with that kind of stuff, and losing them would hurt really bad, especially if you actually spared some people, implying that you had mercy in your heart, you just didn't spare any for papyrus, a beacon of kindness who literally can't even kill you, unlike other monsters, which you presumably spared.
But like, sans is a VERY social guy, he has a lot of friends, and thus a lot of emotional support, you'd think a guy like that would more chill about this, especially considering the number of things he lets you get away with before stepping in, but all it takes papyrus to die for sans mental health to go down drastically.
But that's just it, what if these emotional support pillars called friends and colleagues, ARNT as stable as they should be? What if papyrus was the strongest pillar holding it all together? This is where I get back on topic to the otherworld sans theory.
You see, if sans ISNT from this world, then his connections to the people around him are lot more superficial then they might seem on a first glance, sure he cares about these people, but to him, a lot of them are people he already knew, people he already knew how to make laugh, how to make comfortable, how to be cool with, while they have very little knowledge about him.
In other words, these relationships are very one sided, sans already know how to befriend them, while they like sans for presumably accommodating them without him even having to try, they didn't actually have to go through the process of making a relationship, and could skip straight to the friend's part, it's no wonder he's so popular, dude is actually playing new game plus with relationships!
And because of all that, sans doesn't really have that much of a connection with them, it doesn't help that he doesn't have a lot in common with these people either, they lived their entire lives underneath a mountain, they have a different culture that he's not used to and doesn't know the ins and outs of, and they presumably all know every little thing about the mountain they call home, where as sans doesn't know and hasn't experienced any of this before, he's had to try and play it cool, pretending he knows what's up to not seem like an outsider, in order to "fit in"
Anyway, point is, while he may have a lot of "friends" those people don't know much about him, and thus, couldn't REALLY support him if it came down to it, but there is one person who would get it, just one, a very important one, papyrus.
If papyrus really IS from another world like sans, then he could confide in him fully, they are brothers, good ones at that, any trouble they may have had adjusting to this world, and worries, anything small or insignificant, they could talk about it, or not, and just chill knowing they are the same, and that, at the very least, they are not alone.
But when you kill papyrus, you take away a MASSIVE pillar from the structure that is his mental health, you take away not only his brother, but his most trusted confidant, the person who he values more than himself, his last remaining connection to his old world, his old friends, his old life, you're not just taking away his brother, your taking away a huge part of sans, one that he values very highly judging by the don't forget photo, and his genocide speech about letting go and giving up, which is implied to be referring to him trying to back home.
Anyway, these are angsty thoughts I had, maybe I'll find it cringe in hindsight and delete it, I just value sibling relationships a lot, being a brother myself, and wanted to talk about sans and papyrus's relationship.
Also, the newsletter was pretty good.

God... just finished my perfect file for deltarune ch 1 and ch 2, beat spamton and jevil, got all the eggs, found all the moss, did all the lightworld stuff, like onion, sans, and mettaton, even did the little car minigame in ch 2 perfectly to get the tiny car in my dark world.
All I can say is FUCK PEPIS, AND MERRY GO ROUNDS CAN BURN IN HELL!
Can you tell what attacks got me killed most of the time?
Anyway, playing through deltarune again from start to finish def has me appreciating the game more, and much I actually love not only the story and characters, but the gameplay as well.
Also made me realize how much I loved ralsei, and berdly too, overall, an enjoyable experience, I recommend anyone who hasn't played it, play it, its free and very low spec, and for those who have, maybe replay it.
Also, I aint doin the weird route, not because of moral reasons, just that fighting a harder spamton neo solo scares the hell out of me.

Go get your questions in while you have the chance, yall better follow the rules and only ask one question.
Here's mine btw:
Tumblr media
Little weird, but I didn't feel comfortable asking a lore question to Toby's (or Papyrus's I guess lmao) face, so I just wanted to know how his existence was.
Tumblr media
HEY GUYS IF YOU WANNA GO ASK THE GREAT PAPYRUS A QUESTION!!! (image is a link to the tweet)

The F is key: A crackpot Utdr theory.
So, hear me out... Frisk and Kris look very similar appearance wise.
Kris is an anagram of Frisk's name, except Frisk has an "F" in it.
F is the 6th letter of the alphabet.
6, is commonly associated with Gaster in utdr, it's kind of his number.
We speculate, the voice we hear at the beginning of the game, during the goner maker sequence is Gaster, hinting, that he was the one who called us here.
So, it can therefore be inferred that Gaster, was also the one who put us inside of Kris.
Due to all the callbacks to Undertale, and the fact that the soul seems to remember how to turn into yellow soul mode even without the cell phone, it's been speculated that the soul we control, is the same one we controlled in Undertale.
So, what if Frisk's existence, and us being inside THEM, is also due to Gaster? Hear me out some more:
They have an F in their name, which could maybe imply Gaster's involvement with them, maybe he even gave them that name.
If you believe the person speaking during the goner maker sequence was Gaster, then it sorta implies he can MAKE vessels for the player.
So what if... Frisk IS a vessel, specifically, a vessel meant to resemble Kris made by Gaster.
The goner maker avatars after all, no matter how you customize them, LOOK like Kris, albeit monochrome, so maybe he just likes them and their appearance for some reason, and wanted to replicate it for Frisk.
As for why he would do this?... No clue, Gaster is a very mysterious individual, we don't really know a lot of his motives for doing or getting involved with ANYTHING in the series, so trying to tie a motive for the possible creation of Frisk to him, would be impossible at this point, maybe in the future if we find out more about him...
So yeah, this theory has very little proof, other than implications of Gaster having involvement in a lot of soul stuff, and kris and frisk being WAY too similar appearance and name wise, the f in Frisk's name is what started this whole idea in my head in the first place.
Anyway, let me know what you think, sorry if this is a bit... all over the place. wrote this at 6 am, and no, I didn't wake up at this time, I can't choose when motivation calls lol.

You know I was thinking about it and... how are kris Susie going to get an entire tv from Toriels house to the school? If we follow the same pattern as the previous chapters, all the darkners objects should be taken from toriels house to castle town, but ignoring the fact that they would have to somehow convince toriel to give them a BUNCH of random objects from her house not JUST the tv, but the other objects could probably be stuffed in kris's pockets, (considering they were able to stuff an entire computer in there lol.) But like, look at this:
Tumblr media
Thats a pretty big tv! How are they gonna move that thing, so I came up with two theories/predictions.
The first one which is actually a pretty simple solution, is that Tenna, (assuming the chapter boss is Tenna), isn't actually the tv, notice the name, "Tenna" like ANTENNA, Tenna might actually only be the antenna on TOP of the tv, thus making transportation much more possible.
The second one...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok, hear me out, what if these lines from the spamton sweepstakes special were actually FORESHADOWING, what if toby... just straight up KILLS or damages Tenna? This might just be the edgy grim side of my brain thinking, but it would be one HELLUVA way to ramp up the stakes, and show Kris and Susie, that this is serious, I mean, they're HEROES, they're supposed to be saving the world and all, yet they aren't taking this very seriously at all, Susie even likes exploring the dark worlds with kris and states that what the knight is doing, might not be such a bad thing after all, and at least during a non-weird route, kris seems to enjoy them as well, considering they opened up a dark fountain just to go on another adventure with Susie, this could be a wakeup call to them, that the dark worlds ARNT all fun and games, and that they are real dangerous places, full of people, who can, and will die (via the roaring) if they don't save them by stopping the knight.
Anyway, the first theory is more likely, idk if toby would really be willing to do that, but then again, the man DID make the genocide route and weird route, so he can do that sort of stuff if he wants.
Kris could also just have a comically large tv in their pocket I guess, but anyway, let me know what you think.

Something people never mention:
Pshh, hey you... Look at these screen caps i took.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice something? He said, "GOD" Then paused, and finished his expression of frustration with, "DAMMIT".
So, you might be wondering, what am I getting at here? Well, you see... He said, GOD dammit, and it occurred to me...
How does darkner know of the concept of God? How would they even find out that information? Now there are plenty of darkners who know bits and pieces of knowledge about the dark world, this is to be expected as they are actually objects, and when they became sentient, perhaps they carried knowledge of what they're object form overheard to they're new body.
But like... The town doesn't HAVE a god, they're religion is based off an angel, so i doubt there would really be any conversation involving God that a random card in a school supply closet could overhear.
This doesn't mean i don't think the deltarune world doesn't have the concept of God, it's a whole world, there's probably some other religions around the world, but that the town of deltarune SPECIFICALLY, wouldn't be a town where a mere card could learn of such a concept.
To me, this means one of five things:
Perhaps, although there is an angel at the heart of the towns religion, there is perhaps a god aswell, after all, angels an gods are connected, but this would bring into question would the higher form of power, the god, is not worshipped instead of the angel. Maybe the god is evil or something, or maybe the person who created the religion only knew of the existence of the angel and not the god who could've created it.
Darkners have more knowledge then what they just hear, allthough it is logical that they would only know what they're object forms heard or witnessed, perhaps they have other random knowledge as well, certain npc's like the bosses of each chapter, jevil, and sean, know more knowledge then you would expect them to, so perhaps they are just born with this knowledge inside of them, although people like queen still don't know about the roaring, despite the fact that you would think someone like her would, so this knowledge is pretty inconsistent.
Perhaps he knows about is, due to his knowledge as a retainer to a king, kings are appointed as such by God some would posit, so perhaps as a card darkner, he is just aware of such beings.
Maybe Rouxls is just fricking weird, dude is hella sus so it wouldn't surprise me if he had knowledge like that for actually unknown reasons.
Toby just thought it would be funny and didnt think about it too hard, this is probably the most likely one, (Insert joke about utdr theorists overthinking the games), not everything has answers, toby is just a regular dude, and expecting everything he puts into the game to have meaning and nuance is an unrealistic standard
Let me know what your thoughts on it are, have any other explanations about how rouxls know this? Agree with one of my theories? Found a counterpoint or piece of evidence or something I'm missing? Let me know, reblog, comment, all that stuff.

Its wild that we know more about gaster then we do frisk.
Like Gaster ain't even physically present for like 99 percent of playthroughs, and even that's debatable cause we don't know if mystery man is him or not.
Yet we know more about a man wiped off the face of space time, then we do about the protagonist of the game.
Like most of the info we have on frisk are based of like... assumptions or implications, that can interpreted in different ways, a few examples:
Frisk not liking the sickly yellow soda, like, yeah it could mean they don't like pineapple soda, but are we sure it's even pineapple soda? Could it be lemon? What if the reason they don't like it is because its described as "sickly", what if its just a really gross looking soda? What if they just don't like the color yellow?
Frisk being more pacifist aligned because of them revealing they're name in the pacifist run, like yeah it could mean they are a good bean, but what if its just that nobody asked them before? And even if it isn't that, they seem pretty cool with the idea of a genocide run, they don't even bat an any at killing loads of people on a whim, despite kris protesting fiercely for far less.
Frisk climbing mt ebott to end their life, its heavily implied that chara did this, but frisk doing it for similar reasons might just be speculation on asriels part, i mean the dude called you chara for like most of the game, he's not really the most accurate when it comes to this stuff, what if frisk just wanted to see some monsters? What if frisk was just running from home and fell down a hole? What if they were just mountain climbing? Frisk doesn't reply to Asriel's question, so we really have no way of knowing.
The point is, we don't know anything about frisk, which is pretty sus considering the amount of emphasis thats placed on who kris is, and kris's feelings about any given situation in deltarune, which implies one of 2 things, 1. Its on purpose, and the meaning behind this decision will be revealed later on, or 2. Toby just like, didn't think about frisk too much, and decided to have a few quirks of theirs in the script, without placing too much emphasis on them.
Anyway, these are just thoughts, let me know what you think.

... *Sighs* I hope the knights evil, like just a little at least, i just think it would be neat, like if they are atleast an unsufferable dickhead like the king, or a likeable asshole like flowey, i'll take that, but please, espcially if it IS papyrus, don't make it an innocent misunderstanding thing please toby, I just want another main villain man, the flowey fan in me yearns for it.

You think the gaster from deltarune is the same as the gaster from undertale? The line of dialogue from the spamton sweepstakes: "what if you could get darker then dark" seems to imply that atleast, maybe getting split across space and time split him across the worlds too? or maybe he created the world of deltarune or something.

Who yall think will be future party members? Me personally, my list of potential party members would be:
Toriel (Obviously, she's in chapter 3)
Asgore (would make sense if toriel was a party member)
Catti (Idk why, noelle and berdly were both in chapters so she might be too, and she might be a party member)
Asriel (would make sense, he's coming home sometime this week, would make a pretty dope last addition)
Dess ( Theres a line said by susie about dragon blazers about having the princess be a part of your party even if she's super weak, could be a metaphor for dess)
Sans (if you think the brothers house will be a dark world or papyrus is the knight, makes sense sans would get involved somehow)
The knight (Could be a cool ass final boss fight where you team up with the villain in a last stand against the true final boss or something)
Again, these are all just guesses, there might not even BE other party members, having the fun gang be the only ones with noelle as quick cameo would be cool too, but i would like at least some these to be true, let me know who you think would be cool to have.

So, if you've been in the utdr community for a bit now you've probably heard of the sans otherworld theory, specifically the variant where sans comes from deltarune.
But the main consensus is that sans swaps or is transported to undertale sometime during the events of deltarune or after them, but like what if he was already swapped with the other sans by the time, we meet him in deltarune?
Guys what if the sans we talk to during deltarune is actually just sans from undertale playing it cool?
Guys what if like, if we ever get a second sans fight electric boogaloo, and we like kill him via weird route or something, he just turns into dust immediately unlike undertale sans who bled?
Guys what if the reason papyrus won't come out of the house has to do with the fact that he knows his brother isn't the same person?
Guys what if the loneliness of being separated from his friends is being offset by the fact that he has to keep it together to take care of a younger papyrus and that he's genuinely happy he's no longer trapped underneath a mountain? And therefore, he isn't as depressed as og sans?
Alright... I think I got all the intrusive thoughts out my system, I'm good now, no longer insane, now I can actually think about things with evidence rather than head canons with no tangible proof.

I've had an idea connected to this. Today, someone showed me that the letters in 'Ralsei' can be rearranged to spell 'Asriel'. So, if Ralsei really is Asriel's form in the dark world, he would still be the party's ally, but not a prince from the dark world. I hope that makes sense.
Yeah, he could be, but college seems pretty far away from hometown so I doubt he could get over there, and I would like Ralsei to be his own person, Besides, his personality is not that similar to Asriel's from the hints we've been given by the residents of hometown.

So, I've had a thought. The prophecy is talking about a 'prince from the dark', but Ralsei still is sorta sus. But who else is a 'prince from the dark', aka a prince from a dark world? You're right, it's Lancer. So, what if Ralsei will turn against us and Lancer will take his place alongside the party?
DAMN! That would be one helluva twist! The only question would be what would Ralsei's REAL objective be here? Maybe he's secretly trying to destroy the dark worlds? I mean he seemed to be pretty against starting the rumbling.
If this does end up happening, I hope he comes back to our side, but if he doesn't, having him as one of, if not THE final boss could be a cool callback to Asriel Dreemurr boss fight at the end of the last game.

Weird thought, but either Rouxls Kaard or Ralsei, is probably going to be a chapter 7 secret boss, they're both the most suspicious darkners we know, and assuming chapter 7 maybe takes place during the roaring or something, it would make sense for one of the secret bosses to be someone we already know, it could also be Seam to be fair.
