Drensi couldn’t help but chuckle at Kitt’s retort about him going crazy and him being the one to get the Erasers there, and at the door now, their conversation still continued as Jay watched it all unfold, putting his two cents in whenever necessary as Drensi explained further, “Well I’m not actually the one who brought them there, they’ve been there for far longer than I have actually, so has the Three Islands themselves. That doesn’t really mean they don’t know me either, I kinda do go crazy sometimes when I haven’t fed, because I actually don’t like feeding on people..,” Drensi trailed off.

Jay then chimed in, “We know you don’t man,” he patted Drensi on the upper back and continued, sounding serious and unknowingly answering Kitt’s question about Drensi feeding, “If I hadn’t been there the other day, you would have gone crazy, but luckily you’re doing great now,” Jay said patting Drensi’s chest, and Drensi gave him a sad look and Jay gave Drensi a hug, “Come on man, it’s ok, it’s ok, I know you feel horrible when it happens, it’s ok.”

They both stayed silent for a bit, just hugging, and Drensi wrapped his arms around Jay to continue the hug. He stayed in Jay’s arms for a few minutes then stepped away gently rubbing a forming tear with the heal of his hand and forced himself to smile at Jay, but Jay didn’t smile back, because he knew it was a very sensitive subject for Drensi and he knew Drensi was forcing himself to smile and change the subject. Jay did change the subject, not going deeper into the uncomfortable subject for Drensi, and that is when Jay actually smiled when he turned his head back to Kitt to answer for Drensi when she said the part about cats and dogs, trying to lighten the sudden sad mood, “Hey he didn’t know that, and as far as I know, most dogs I’ve seen actually despise cats and vise versa, but I think the Erasers will like you, especially Mrs. Jemmah.”

Drensi lightened up a bit more, still looking slightly sad, but it began to vanish after a while the more they talked, and it seemed his mood completely turned when Jay mentioned Mrs. Jemmah and Drensi chuckled, “Oh yeah, if I know her, she’ll love you as soon as you walk in, especially if you’re with me,” he began walking, making sure everyone was moving before he closed the door to his home and locked it then fell into step with Kitt and Jay.

Jay had his hands stuffed into his jean pockets, which must have looked silly but Jay followed as Drensi kept in step with the others on their way to the Bentley, and far away, the driver in the Bentley saw all that occurred but straightened himself when he saw the three making their way over. The driver and back seat passenger took a quick glance at each other and the driver made a soft shrug and then started the Bentley to get ready to leave as soon as they had entered.

Jay continued the conversation as they walked, as Jay himself pulled the draw strings on his hood to hide his face better, “Yeah, anybody who is Drensi’s friend is automatically considered family by Mrs. Jemmah, such a sweet old lady.”

Drensi rolled his eyes at that, and gave him a chuckle, “Well she does have to meet Mrs. Jemmah anyway, let’s just kill two birds with one stone then,” and Drensi caught Jay making an imaginary basketball hoop throw motion and shared another chuckle with him as he shook his head at Jay. Jay of course responded back with sticking his tongue out like a little kid, and Drensi responded back the same way.

During that whole time to the Bentley, Drensi and Jay both had a quiet fight with each other, making the other laugh and doing so again. Anyone could tell these two were great friends, even if their silent fight suddenly went to flipping each other the bird. It was kind of sweet, and the Driver in the Bentley couldn’t help but chuckle as he watched the whole thing with the backseat passenger. It was quite silly indeed.

Drensi had fallen asleep late last night, tinkering with one of his little inventions for his secret hacking job, which was now halfway finished and laying in plain sight on his table. He only woke up after the third knock and opened his eyes.

With a small little grumble, he got up out of bed and sleepily stumbled his way to his front door. He almost had to do a double take because his sleepy mind didn’t register it was Kitt standing in front of him, his sleepy brain wouldn’t let him see that.

He yawned and gave Kitt a very sleepy smile and invited her inside, while also helping her with one of the boxes. In all reality, he had no clue what today actually was, so he smiled and asked, “What are these for, and what’s the special occasion?”

The Herald of Love

In the dead of night, Cupid watched as the colors of Sandy’s sand fluttered and sailed across the sky. Dreams were happening, and Sandy was an expert. Cupid was sitting on a roof of one of the buildings, and right next to him came a stream of dream sand. Cupid watched, his green eyes glowing and adding green to the already bright glow. It was beautiful to watch, and Cupid could see a large cloud of sand far off into the distance. That is where Sandy worked, and that is where he made his dreams, and yet again, Cupid wondered if Sandy made dreams for one’s like him.

Cupid stayed deep in thought. His scorpion tail gently swaying as it laid on the roof, his wings adjusting themselves for a few minutes then he leaned back and laid across the roof and just watched the sky above him. He was a bit jealous of Sandy, the dream sand was and seemed like a great power, where as he himself had a black bow with arrows he formed out of thin air, or with children’s love. These arrows could be used either to harm or even not harm others. He never harmed children, even when an arrow would stick into them, whenever he shot one, these arrows never harmed the kids, which Cupid himself found surprising, he used them to give the kids love to the thing or person they loved.

Cupid’s bow was laying right beside him, the steak black etched with symbols and small hearts flashed with the colors of the dream sand flowing around him. Cupid’s eyes closed softly and rested for a bit. Again he wondered if Sandy would give him a dream, he wondered how it would feel to dream. He wasn’t a Guardian, but he did care about the children and protected their love like the other Guardians did. Love was his center, which was kind of self explanatory, he made sure love was shown constantly. He worked tirelessly every day, and on his holiday Valentines Day, where he was depicted as a baby with a cloth over his naughty bits, which also made him laugh. If they actually knew what he looked like, wouldn’t it have been better for the kids who frowned upon the baby picture? Wouldn’t they have found him cool? Maybe, Cupid himself thought he looked cool, and in all reality he didn’t much like the baby look they used to depict him, but it was funny whenever that time came around and he saw tv’s flashing with said baby.

He wonder also if he’d ever meet any of the Guardians. He wondered if he’d get to work with them, and then his mind went to Manny. The Man in the Moon, Manny, the one who created him, and where Cupid believed all “Guardians” came from. The first day, Manny gave him his name Cupid and his bow, then after went silent. It had been so many years since him and Manny actually spoke, but Cupid knew that all of his thoughts must have been heard by Manny, they were just never answered and now he opened his eyes to gaze at the Moon. It was full and bright and hung in the sky as a mighty glowing ball, but Cupid’s eyes watched, thinking over and over at why he was here, why Manny created him. It couldn’t have been because of love, could it?
