I drove through Dayton and stopped to see the memorial outside Ned Peppers in the Oregon District this morning. Supporters continue to drop off flowers, stuffed animals, and other items to show their support and grief. People were crying, hugging, or just showing their respect in a quiet stance. Whenever I think of summer, I anticipate the Dayton Celtic Festival. It’s always the weekend of my daughter’s birthday and very hard to forget. But, this year, even though my anticipation couldn’t be any higher, and due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t make it. Yes, that’s right. I missed it.
