Out of town series: Experiencing Caddy’s in Treasure Island, Florida
Wow, is all I can say about this little treasure of a restaurant/bar that we found while walking on the beach in Treasure Island, Florida. Yes, I know it’s not in Ohio, but everyone has to hit the road at times. It’s that time of year where everyone packs up the bathing suits, beach towels and everything summery and heads for what they believe to be Heaven. Where is your Heaven? Mine is…

Exploring the treasures of Troy
Exploring the treasures of Troy
The other day a friend and I went exploring through the town of Troy, Ohio and found some exciting little shops along the way.
As you know, I’m all about family-owned businesses and supporting the dreams of small business owners. There’s nothing like the excitement that’s felt when an owner sees a customer enjoying what they offer and knowing that you are supporting their journey. If I had a…

Keeping Summer Alive
Since the summer is winding down, I’ve just been trying to hold onto the most of summer as I can. One of my favorite things of summer is fireflies. It brings me back to my childhood and reminds me to show my grandchildren how to enjoy the same.
When my sisters and I were younger, my mom would give us one glass jar with a lid with holes – could have been a used spaghetti sauce jar or a cleaned…

Dayton Strong: couldn't get any stronger
Dayton Strong: couldn’t get any stronger
I drove through Dayton and stopped to see the memorial outside Ned Peppers in the Oregon District this morning. Supporters continue to drop off flowers, stuffed animals, and other items to show their support and grief. People were crying, hugging, or just showing their respect in a quiet stance. We are all still wondering WHY!
Continue to stay strong Dayton! We are all here for you!

The tragedy in Dayton
The tragedy in Dayton
Tumblr media
The tragedy that occurred in Dayton early this morning is heartbreaking. There are no words that can explain the why’s, but the most important thing is for us to support the families, friends and loved ones that were victims.
We need to join together as a community, not just the downtown area, but the whole Miami Valley to help each other heal and help prevent future incidents.
Let’s…

I missed it. Did you?

Whenever I think of summer, I anticipate the Dayton Celtic Festival. It’s always the weekend of my daughter’s birthday and very hard to forget. But, this year, even though my anticipation couldn’t be any higher, and due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t make it. Yes, that’s right. I missed it.
Tumblr media
Yes, I missed my favorite bands EVER – Scythian, Gaelic Storm and Socks in the Frying Pan.
