types of anti-maps

because y’all won’t leave us alone, here are some of the types of antis i’ve seen or been forced to interact with on tumblr:

the “sympathetic” antis

these antis send hate disguised as advice or help, often using fake-nice language and sugar-coat everything they say, which is very annoying and passive-aggressive tbh. they try to make it seem like they are a good person, trying to achieve some kind of greater good, but all they really do is hate that is poorly disguised as kindness or advice.

they say things like: “please, for the love of god, get help.” or “no offense, but you should see a therapist.”

the fake allies

these antis make blogs disguised as map blogs or map ally blogs, and then slide into your dms and send you hate. they usually have a url like “acemappositivity” or “map-to-happiness” and have no description and no posts on their blog. they try to bait maps into talking to them by seeming like a friendly map blog and then send them hate like any other anti. they’ll also sometimes open by saying something that seems nice and supportive and then start spamming you with hate.

the closed-minded antis

a lot of the antis you find on tumblr are like this. they pay very close attention to stigmas and assume all maps are perverted, cishet, sex-driven monsters who are out to rape every kid they see. they don’t believe that lgbt maps exist, and they seem to assume that all maps want to do is have sex. (so they don’t think ace maps exist either). they don’t seem to understand the concept of an ant-contact nomap, and think all maps are doomed to offend. they also try to define map terms such as contact as being anywhere near children, when we define it as sexual or romantic contact.

the “curious” antis

these antis send hate by acting as if they’re trying to understand the map community. they send passive-aggressive questions and often ask us if we feel any guilt for our fantasies. they also seem to assume all maps are child-rapists or want to be child-rapists and don’t believe ace maps exist.

they say things like: “i’m just trying to understand why you think this is okay” or “do you feel guilty about wanting to rape children?”

the unapologetic antis

this type of antis is also very prevalent on tumblr, and they often go hand-in-hand with the closed-minded antis. they believe the same things closed-minded antis believe, but they are absolutely ruthless in the way they express their opinions. they have no chill, no decency, and no regard for other human beings. they will often raid the map tags and reblog all our posts with hate, even when we specifically put “antis do not interract.” they don’t stop when we ignore their messages, and they don’t seem to get anything.

they say things like: “the world would be better with your blood on the walls” or “pee your pants op” or “die you nasty pedo” and have no sympathy for anything they say.

these are just some of the types of antis i’ve seen on tumblr, and the types of hate that they send. antis, this post is not for you, please do not interact with this post. maps and allies can feel free to reblog this as long as you’re not pro-contact.
