your character design is a delight but I adore your characterization even more it’s so GOOD! You have a very good grasp of mental health issues and as someone with them myself I find the portrayal kinda comforting and this last arc with Joule has just been 👌 keep up the great work

I'm really glad that people are enjoying the arc too (even though I'm barely working on it, curse my work-life balance), and the characterization for Joule specifically.

I don't want to make this blog fully about trauma and dealing with it, but with Ashleigh being the character who has very obvious trauma that she refuses to address, she's gonna get her turn eventually. Depends on how this arc finishes!

Her hair is actually a reference to my two old MLP OCs! I had an AU Rainbow Dash named "FezDash" or "Fezzy", and an Alicorn named Rainbow Melody! The pink and blue stripes are literally just their fur colors :>

I like putting very subtle hints into my OCs designs, plus it's a bit of history for those who've been with be since I've started being on Tumblr!

I love the twins too. I knew that once they appeared on the blog, things were gonna be different in a good way. And I can happily say that I enjoyed every single moment of blogging since. Not that I disliked it before!

I really enjoy writing kid characters, and especially siblings! So having fraternal twins and one other younger sibling is just an absolute blast to write. I can't wait for more interactions between all of them, especially Coro and Taima.

💖 imma just a basic bitch here and say that ashleigh's flannel goes hard and the way she has it worn around the waist both gives her some major mom friend vibes and is some nice visual storytelling (mainly in regards to the setting (alola))

But I'm really glad that you enjoy the visual storytelling in regards to how Ash wears her flannel while in Alola! I made sure to make it seem "real" at the time... and then I put her son in a similar outfit with him actually wearing the button-up properly, whoops. (we'll just say it's a button up and not FLANNEL flannel)

It's also a stark contrast to how she wore it when she was in Unova! I love the change of a character's design, even when it's as subtle as how they wear a piece of clothing :>

Seriously, there is a style to your work that is uniquely yours. Beautiful work filled with character. Everyone feels like a real person, which is difficult to do across an entire cast like yours. But you succeed there and it is one of my favourite things about your work.

I feel like a hiatus seems like a good choice to make at this point

Might be me and my weak will, but still...

I've basically been on hiatus for like a year, I just never officially stated it.

And that was largely due to my job, which I currently do not have anymore. The only things holding me back from art right now are me being sick and my carpal tunnel.

Depending on how long I'm sick and how quick I can shoot out the commissions I got, I'll be back to working on the blog. I do intend on coming back, it's just a matter of time, that's all-

I very much want to keep this blog alive! I love these characters and I love the story that @ask-elliotgang and I (and a few others!) are writing currently. Things just keep getting in the way!

I'm also busy with a zine, moderating a few Discord servers, and dealing with personal things, so it's just a lot on my plate! Losing my job really took a huge weight off my back, I will say.

So please rest assured that I have no intentions on putting this blog on an "indefinite hiatus" or any sort of hiatus, I'm just constantly bullied by RNGesus. That's why it's my title on Doodle World :)

what would happen if your pokemon characters had toxic chain?

The Pokémon that formed the Loyal Three were once below-average Pokémon: Okidogi was small and weak, Munkidori was clumsy and dim-witted, and Fezandipiti had short, dull feathers. The Toxic Chains wrapped around their bodies granted them the strength, cleverness, and beauty that they respectively wished for. How the chains were found or created, remains a mystery.

It's actually a fairly good question! I saw you ask @askvekpa the same question and I did a lil think to myself about it. I probably won't do this for everyone, but I can probably give an idea for Ashleigh.

The Toxic Chain seems to enhance one of the Pokemon's biggest flaws and sorta wraps itself around a part of the Loyal Threes' bodies that would make sense for the enhancement. For Ashleigh, that would be her courage.

This isn't saying that Ashleigh is a complete coward, but it's shown that she is VERY protective. She also has PTSD from past trauma that she refuses to address. I feel like the Toxic Chain would wrap around her like a sash, specifically going over her left shoulder and over her heart to show off her new "brave heart".

And just for funsies, I think the species name of "Rattioh" would be good to fit the naming scheme of the Loyal Three. It's a combination of "rat" and "righty-o".

I dunno, something fun to think about!
