@africanproverbspage: When two grasshoppers fight to death, it is the crow who gets to feast. When two antelopes fight to death , it is the vulture that benefits. And when two brothers fight to death, a stranger inherits their father's estate. "Brothers" in this context can be companies, countries, siblings, societies, families or groups that share the a common bond. A house that is divided against itself bows to the ground. Unity is what beautifies a family. A united family is like a fortress -- it's hard to penetrate. There is no hurdle a united family cannot surmount. A wise family works together. When a family does not work together, their effort is dispersed and dissipated. And in the end, a stranger or outsider becomes the one who gains the most. The wealth of a stupid family always goes to a stranger. You may think I'm being harsh for saying 'stupid', but the last time I checked my dictionary, a stupid person is one who lacks common sense. And common sense teaches us to be united in order to able to fight any intruder. Be unfettered#TagAFriendToReadThis! #nigerianproverb #ZambianProverb

@africanproverbspage: The fact of life is that we all sometimes have some bad days. Bad days meaning, days when things don't go the way we expect or the way they are supposed to. It has nothing to do with whether or not we are good or bad people. I'm talking about the situation when you know in your heart to have done no evil or wronged no one. That is, you have a clean and clear conscience. And yet something major goes wrong in your life. When this happens, it is not a time to blame or pity yourself. There is no reason to do that . You have done no wrong. And that will only worsen your situation. The best as question to ask yourself in such moment is not "why?" but "how?". Don't say "why me?" There is no apparent reason. You just happen to be the victim of that misfortune. Ask yourself how you can put yourself together and rise above that challenge. If you are alive, there is hope. Be hopeful! #TagAFriendToReadThis! #GambianProverb #LiberianProverb

///@africanproverbspage: We often hear about the dangers of getting little sleep, but what is equally dangerous, if not more dangerous, is sleeping too much. One of the dangers of sleeping too much is that it affects your mental health. And whatever affects your brain affects your life. But this proverb is more figurative than it is literal. You know, there is a stage in the human life called prime . It is the period of our youth. It is a time when we have so much power and potential and for that matter can have peak performance. The prime of life is a season when any wise person would invest in his or her future. But it is at the same time a very tempting period. This is because the same energy that one could use to build, could also be used to destroy. Furthermore, it's the time period when sleep is most sweet. And so there is the temptation to be lazy and lax. Sad to say, many people fall prey to this temptation. They spend the early half of their life ruining their opportunities and the latter half of their life trying to make up for the waste. Are you young? Do not vacation in all your 'summer' days. Don’t let the sun catch you sleeping. Make hay while the sun shines. In other words, do something while conditions are right. Be farsighted! #TagAFriendToReadThis! #AfricanProverb #AfricanProverbsPage

African culture is not at all related to African American culture in moral standard or lifestyle it seems. But then again, Africa is a gigantic continent with a lot of small countries and tribes and from what ai have read and learned through people, it gets pretty brutal. As does brutality exist in the human race period. I'm not gonna lie to you and say, "I have no problem with black people." I've had many problems with black and white people. I'm not gonna lie and say I have lots of black friends. I don't have any friends, period. You seem like a very intelligent man with a sense of morality. Your in for a rude awakening in dealing with american women of any color. They lack morality and standards. Quite frankly, they are sluts generally. And have been programmed by the zionist owned media to be that way. This country is in for a very big surprise and s rude awakening. These american spoiled brats are lazy. Worthless. Weak. And basically worthless in the survival in a 3rd world ghetto that this country will become soon. Only to be bought, sold, regime change, demographically switched entirely. We are basically on the edge of a genocidal extinction masquerading as a pandemic. It's a Plandemic. People say I'm a racist. I'm not gonna lie, by people's definition of that word I am. Nevertheless, I don't trust anyone. Period.
African culture is 100% different from African American culture..

@africanproverbspage: A person`s character is as inseparable from him or her as a shadow is to a body. Our character follows us wherever we go! Even if you try to hide it, it's still who you are on the inside. And it will be only a matter of time that that person you are will come out openly. You see, character is not necessarily what you are known to be. What you are known to be is your reputation. It is not even what you think you are. What you think you are is your opinion and that does not always agree with who you really are. Character is a composite of your thoughts, your principles, your actions and your words. It is not just who you are. It's the common thread that runs through what you are, when you are, how you are and whom you are. What do I mean by that? Some people are one thing when they go to certain places, say church and another thing when they are at say home. Or they are one thing if something big is at stake for them, and another thing when nothing is in for them . And they are who they are depending on whom they are dealing with. If they are dealing with people of a certain color or country they are one thing and another thing when they are dealing with others. Be true! #TagAFriendToReadThis! #Equatorial#GuineanProverb #AfricanProverbsPage #africanproverb

@africanproverbspage: This saying sounds so obvious. We all know that blowing out someone elses candle doesnt make ours shine any brighter. And yet how many of us don’t do that? But you see, there is an explanation for that. Selfishness blinds; and it blinds a person to the dangers of his or her own life. The more selfish you are, the more stupid decisions you will make. You may have heard of the ancient parable of the long spoon. One day a student once asked teacher ”Teacher, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.” The teacher painted two pictures both with people around a large pot of stew enough for everyone. In the first picture, the people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They had locked elbows and spoons with very long handles which made it impossible for each man to feed himself. The teacher said. “That is hell” . The people in the second picture also had locked elbows and long spoon but they looked healthy and well nourished. “That is heaven!” Perplexed, the student asked, “how so?” to which the teacher answered , “These people learned early on to share and feed one another, while the greedy only think of themselves” Only in helping others will you find heaven on earth. Be selfless! #SwahiliProverb #africanproverb #AfricanProverbsPage #tagafriendtoreadthis imageCredit: @lexonart

There is one thing that is not only allowed but it’s a huge sin to do in an African home. And that is to waste material things, whether it be food, water, clothes or anything for that matter. This should explain to you why you will find soda bottles being used as water bottles or containers for storage in many African homes. If you want to learn the economics of frugality, visit a traditional African home. It’s no wonder to learn that the refrigeration industry was revolutionized by a black man called Frederick McKinley Jones who created the first mobile refrigerators and the read crumps machine was invented by another black man called Joseph Lee to convert day-old bread into breadcrumbs. That’s just to mention two great inventions. Waste must not be entertained in any area whether it be wasting our tears by crying over useless issues or wasting our time by spending on unproductive friendships, or wasting our brains by not thinking with them to improve our lot or wasting our bodies by eating or treating them anyhow. Our elders use the imagery of water-carrying to provide us with the lesson in this proverb. Water is life. And often we forget how privileged we are to have access to good drinking water. Fill a bucket with water and carry it for just 3 km (approx 2 miles) without stopping to rest. You do it for a month to realize how that feels. You have no idea what people elsewhere go through just to get dirty water to bring home and filter to drink. Sometimes the search even ends in disappointment. Don’t be wasteful! Be frugal. #africanproverb #AfricanProverbsPage #KenyanProverb
