Wow so much nostalgia, from games to snacks to tech to TV shows / music / books... and even campaigns and landmarks. Here are what we grew up with in 80s Singapore. Crazy trip down memory lane.
Well said: "empathy isn't walking a mile in another's shoes but recognizing the journey for others has been as fraught as yours, and offering companionship the rest of the way."
"We miss out on a lot when we expect to be completely understood; all we should ever want is to be completely loved."
There are reviews that say it's predictable and cliche, but I enjoyed it. Maybe having migrated 3x in my life has something to do with it, I can relate more to the little fireball Ember (Virva in Finnish) than I do most other female protagonists. Watching it in Finnish added to the feeling of constantly trying to fit in (there were no English subtitles).
Listening to this new release of Mahler Symphony No. 3 by the @nyphil
Several of Mahler's symphonies require 6-8 timpani (on top of generally demanding instrumentation) which makes it difficult for an amateur orchestra to perform them
It was sunny and warm in the New England states when I was there in May so... great excuse for ice-cream! Selection from Sunny's Scoops & Dunne's Ice-cream in Maine, and Ben & Jerry's in Vermont.
It's been years since I've played this (maybe decades), amazing how muscle and tonal memories work (I didn't have sheet music). Definitely not presentation quality (I'm shameless), but really helped me relax after a stressful week. I should do this more often...
Hope I'm at the right bus stop! This has been a long #winter... Even though it hasn't been that cold, we've had much more #snow than usual. Vernal equinox has passed... I'm ready for spring! #thisisfinland https://www.instagram.com/p/CqObFSLN3y4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
