Hi tumblr universe!
I haven’t been on here much but I’ve gotten an overwhelming amount of love and support on my other platforms and some of my original followers on here have been vocal and loving on my other social media’s. I just wanted to share exciting news and hope to get more of our skills out there and maybe even inspire someone to try something new.
Earlier this year, my chef received an amazing offer to be a part of a new show. I had been involved in many different projects at the time (new menus, giant gingerbread house for the holidays, taking over a new team etc) and we had worked well together so he asked if I would be interested in being his partner for the show! We had very little info about the show other than it was to be about sugar and sugar sculpting. As weeks went by we got a few more bits such as, there would be two rounds, the ingredients and equipment lists etc.
Fast forward to a VERY busy season and a once in a lifetime opportunity later, and our “Film” was released the first of August! We weren’t even sure of the future of this project because we were in LA filming and a week after we returned, Vegas was shut down and I was furloughed. This whole year has been a rollercoaster and with that being said, Please go watch Sugar High On Netflix to see my Chef and myself compete along other amazing and talented pastry chefs to win 10,000$.
It’s still so surreal to me that I am on peoples tv’s. It’s really such an awesome experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life. You can do it. SI SE PUEDE. Doesn’t matter if you and your family struggled growing up. Doesn’t matter if you had no idea how you’d pay for culinary school. Doesn’t matter that you worked two jobs just to keep the roof over your head. Doesn’t matter that you were a single mom at some point deciding wether you should buy yourself lunch that day or save it in case you need the money for gas or a gallon of milk later that week. What matters is that you pleassseee DON’T GIVE UP. NO TE DES POR VENCIDO.
