The Slide-Rock Bolter is a land-whale type creature that resides in the Colorado mountain ranges. The creature has reportodly been spotted during the 1800’s until the early 1900’s. The creature resides on mountains that have an angle of 45 degrees or higher. All day long, the creature will wait until an unfortunate tourist or animal gets in front of its massive mouth. When the victim is in range, the creature lets go of the peak by lifting up it’s tail, and slides down with its mouth wide open. The creature is so giant that it can destroy trees and even houses that are in its way. One ranger had an idea to kill the Bolter. He set up a dummy tourist, filled with gunpowder, so when the Bolter would slide down, it would hit the dummy so hard, the gunpowder would explode. The next day, the ranger went back to the dummy site, and found a flattened area, that destroyed half of the buildings of a town called Rico. The creature has never been seen since.

In one tall tale, the Fur-Bearing Trout has quite the interesting origin story. The legend began with the unfortunate moment when two bottles (in some version of the stories, it’s four jugs) of hair tonic fell into a river. Because of the tonic, the fish in the river began to sprout long hair. In order to catch these unique fish, fishermen would disguise themselves as barbers to lure the fish to them. The fish, obviously grateful for the offered free haircut, would then be captured by the fishermen.

This ones my newest sketch! It’s a big monster boi and he a cutie for sure, I’m waaaay in love with the shape of his head so far. I’m not too sure where I’m going with this one, he may end up being some sort of dragon, we shall see. My hand kinda works on its own when I draw these things lol
