• so you walk faster and faster... until you feel a large hand clamp down on your shoulder.

• you turn around to see him showing more emotion than you’re sure he’s ever shown in his entire life. he’s looking at you like he’s discovered lost treasure. that’s extractly what he sees though.

• then he catches you even more off guard by wrapping his arms around you. he’s hugging you.. very tightly.

• you look around, and act scared so then passerbys might know somethings up. but what could they do against a towering age old vampire?

• when he finally pulls away, you attempt mustering a confused expression. “uhh.. do i know you?”

• he’s not fooled for even a second. no, it’s much too late for you. he has you in his clutches again and god be damned if he ever lets you go again.

• most of us know his backstory and i think it would absolutely lead him to coping with developing unhealthy obsessions with people.

• sonia was one of them. but honestly, to me that seemed like a shallow obsession. he saw her and thought ‘oh? pretty blond princess? i’ll boost my own ego by being her knight in shining armor!’ but when sonia started to show other traits besides the ideal version of herself that soda built in his head, he was off put.

• the obsession with you starts in the same way. he finds you alluring and creates a false ideal of you right away.

• but in the midst of him tripping over himself to impress you, instead of being offput by your true self and moving onto the next obsession, he falls even more in love with the real you. this scares even him in a way.

• if you indulge him in this obsession right away, it gets really unhealthy really fast.

• if you take slower steps into something with him and get to know him deeper, maybe you have a chance at salvaging something semi healthy. set limits.

• unlike other obsessions, he really wants this thing to work with you. he can see a real future with you. you care about him right? i mean, you spend all this time with him, talking about his traumas and giving reassurance that he’s not unlovable.

okay so at first, it’s d’arby that comes to dio showing his concerns with you. you’d been vomiting almost every morning and he’s noticed a small swell on your belly...

dio wants to brush it off, but deep inside he’s scared that it’s true. orders vanilla to give you a pregnancy test. when it turns out to be positive, he’s freaking the hell out. oh my god.. he’s gonna be a father. now he’s anywhere and everywhere you can be found, watching out for you and his baby. i think underneath that stoicism of his, he’s so freaking scared to be a father. he doesn’t want to turn into his father in the long run. he’s worrying himself sick actually. eventually decides that he’ll give his child everything he wanted from his father. he’d never fall down that same path of abusive. surprisingly, he did some soul searching. that’s rare for him.

so when the baby is born and it looks nothing like him.. he doesn’t want to believe it’s not his. he wants to ignore the fact that it has the same eyes as a servant in the mansion. maybe it’s just some strange recessive gene? eventually, he does get a dna test and when he gets the results he’s livid. he sees red. he didn’t know what he expected, but of course, the baby isn’t his. his first instincts is to blame you but you’re still caring for this small infant. regardless of if it’s his or not, it’s certainly yours. he can’t hurt you. i don’t think he’d hurt you either way, but he’s talking his anger out on his entire staff.

he stills so connected to the child though. you couldn’t tell any different with the way he outwardly acts, but he wanted to be a decent father and grew a little too attached to the idea. maybe he can still fix this.. maybe he can raise it as his own. it just hurts.
