Cryptid of the Day: Williamsport Monster

Description: In the early 1909, reports of a Jersey Devil like creature sent waves of hysteria throughout the town of Williamsport Pennsylvania. A slaughtered flock of chickens was blamed on the beast, but in 1953, reporter Fred Heim admitted to fabricating most of the story. Interestingly, another hoax similar to this happened in the same year, in Maryland.
