i am probably one of three people who would call Larry Bird hot (and I do so mostly unabashedly), but I guess Magic can count as a hot guy.

I just learned Larry played baseball for a hot second, and it's cause the baseball coach basically bullied him into it??????

Yeah, he played college baseball for like...one game hahaha The baseball coach egged him into it by telling him he bet he couldn't do it, apparently as a way to try and boost attendance to their games, but he took him out of the game after Bird got knocked out and banged up a couple of times, because he knew he would get in trouble if he injured their college's Basketball star haha But yeah, apparently not hard to get Larry to do something if you challenge him or question his ability, at least in sports.

There's only a couple of pictures of it that exists (at least that are readily available), it was from so long ago.

If I'm remembering right, baseball was actually one of Larry's first loves when it came to sport as a kid, but he was more of a softball player (and a really good one at that). He did assistant coach a varsity baseball team for a few weeks in 1979--his degree was in physical education, so he did some student-coaching for a spell for his senior year in college.

Haha well I get less attention for Larry and Magic than if I just continued to draw my hot muscular boys, but the few people who care about art of these two seem to really care about it, so there's that.

I guess if you want drawings of Larry Bird there's very few schmucks to fill in that niche, so it'll be me

i'm known for different things to different people, but I'm happy knowing that for some folks I am "that one person" who draws Larry Bird, I love that, I find that really funny

I was watching a video of some guys playing Mario Party and at one point one of them said "Just call me Larry Birdo!" and I was like 'I understood that reference!', which, prior to a few months ago, I wouldn't have understood due to A) not being into sport in general, and B) being Australian. Just thought you might like to know. (The guy who said it is also from Indiana, too.)

I'm watching stuff with Larry and his mustache is like a mirage it's so blonde, one sec it's there the next it's gone.

The first thing I ever saw when I had gotten into Larry Bird was his ultimate mix tape and I had no idea that he had a mustache while I was watching it bc the film is old and his mustache is so fucking blonde. Same with much of the video of him playing I binged after that, you just couldn't see it.

Eventually got to a video is Magic Johnson and Conan O'Brian playing horse, and Conan makes fun of Larry's mustache and they show a higher def picture of Larry and I noticed his mustache for the first time and realized that he'd had a mustache in most of the footage I've seen up until that point, it was just so hard to see I didn't realize it was there haha I was appalled

I've since learned to love and accept it though,

I have seen it! People are lovely and watching out for me (birdwatching lol) and telling me whenever they see Larry and i love it, which also means that I've gotten this question like ten times haha

Not complaining though, because the reason I even *saw* it was because someone sent me an ask a few weeks ago about it. Gotta keep me up on all the Larry Bird stuff.
