Ellie had her share of bad weeks she was sure if she had to archive them they’d be trapped in a box that she’d send and save in the pits of her own gates of Hell. The tension had been high and disarming between her and Craig and though they had agreed that bygones would be bygones it certainly…
Craig had written three songs this week about his feelings on their situation, his third one being the most honest, and made him realize their fight was stupid and neither of them were right. Wanting to get past it and get back to the way they were, Craig decided he needed to show her he still feels the same way about her and even through their fights he still wants her. He booked the room this morning, and spent the afternoon decorating it with romantic candles, rose pedals, and specifically got the room with an open hot tub with great lighting. It had a bit of a dark feel, that he assumed Ellie would like. “Hey,” he popped his head out of the door as she entered after knocking.
Seeing him poking his head out from the door, she raised a curious eyebrow and leaned up cautiously kissing his scruffy face. “Hello.” She said evenly, but as he moved away from the door and revealed the contents that was inside, she stopped her tracks and just took in the atmosphere. All the candle light, the dark ambiance, the rose petals, and light music playing in the background, she wasn’t sure what she had done to receive this nor did she feel she deserved it at all. Overwhelmed with emotion, she turned slowly to face him, only entering herself into his arms. “You didn’t have to do this.” She whispered, staring up at him.
It felt so wonderful just to kiss her without any tension. Craig placed his hands on her tight hips as she looked around at what he set up. Speaking quietly he said, "I did it for you," looking in her eyes. "To say I'm sorry, I guess, and that I'm tired of arguing because we're fighting for reasons that are beyond ourselves," he explained to her, hoping she'd agree so they could just enjoy one night.

Craig looked over at her, answering her directly cutting right to the chase, "I don't like fighting with you, El. I hate it actually, we get nowhere and its just so stupid," he began to rant in a tone, "It feels like us when we weren't together, but me and you are supposed to be better than this."

Another day, another fight, or at so it seemed. Last night after coming home from the cemetery, Ellie was sure that the fighting would cease. Craig and her had exchanged their usual romantic banter, and then it all blew up again. She tried to figure out why the smallest fuse blew up in epic…
Craig was watching the concert on the bed quietly before she entered he remembered what a great night that had been and wondered what had gone so wrong that it seemed all of that had been destroyed. As she entered the room Craig removed his guitar from his lap, making room for her on the bed. He sighed as she spoke then said quietly, “I’m not.”
“But you are, or at least you’re amped up about it I can tell in your body language.” She muttered. Sighing she moved slightly to give him a little space, curling up with one of the pillows on the bed and watched the performance continuing on the television. “I’m not good at knowing what to say when we bite at each other like this cause I normally have fought with you when we weren’t romantically inclined. Not like this, so this is weird to me.” She admitted, pinching the bridge of her nose.

Come talk to me if you want. I'm in our room watching the Stones concert on DVR.

I guess I’ll just go to bed then.
We’re really going to leave this the way it is right now?

Like this is all just my fault. Sure.
So it’s all my fault?
I didn’t say that.
The way you worded it, sounds like it’s being implied....

Okay well then I'm coming home if you get my point. I'll be on the couch if you feel like seeing me. Don't worry you don't have to guard the computer room I won't be going in there.

The way you worded it, sounds like it’s being implied. But you know what, go out with your band members. Go ahead.
Do you want me to come home instead?
I don’t want you to do something you don’t want to do.

You weren’t going to tell me at all, were you?
I was going to when I wasn’t so emotionally drained and messed up from it. I wish you’d believe that.
One of those DUI papers were from over a week ago El, that’s 7 days. You weren’t that emotionally unstable for all those days, I would’ve noticed.
You would have, or maybe I’m really good at letting things build up before it bursts. Either way, I would have told you eventually.
Okay, well I’m going out tonight with some of the guys from the band so don’t wait up for me.
Fine.
