Don't believe everything you read online. Doubly don't believe anything a fossil fuel CEO says. This guy is a famous bad actor who has turned lying about renewable energy into a business.

But yet...solar panels having some horrible consequences like that feels true, doesn't it? I'm a huge environmentalist, but I almost believed him just because that kind of short-sighted cruelty he is inventing feels like something that humans would actually do. We *do* dump massive amounts of electronic waste in poor nations, and some technologies *do* have massive humanitarian costs that we have chosen to ignore (see: the cobalt industry).

This is all just to say: bad actors like this schlub aren't stupid. They're people who are wealthy enough to ignore the consequences of their own actions and who will most directly benefit from the continued suffering their industries are inflicting. Be safe out there.
