i do try not to be a hater when it comes to gen alpha culture and tiktok trends, but i've noticed such an uptick of jokes/memes/turns of phrase that are anywhere from subtly to blatantly ableist

"delulu" and "acoustic" are obviously horrible, but there's also "yapping" and "who asked?" which just sound like things bullies say to autistic people when we get excited about things (even if you don't consider that ableist, it's just fucking mean and i'm tired)

Still really funny that Marvel named a movie “Endgame” and sold it as the final culmination of the MCU where they killed off two main characters and retired a third and then were shocked when people started loosing interest in the MCU after that

#i had already kind of forced myself to watch the last couple movies before then #to have a clean breaking off point with endgame #and idk maybe if endgame had been good and its consequences mattered more they wouldn't have lost so many viewers #the mcu is so obsessed with keeping a status quo that nothing can actually HAPPEN in their movies #can't have a big change in the world because we're making seven movies simultaneously and they all need the same formula

we are so ableist about memory. people with good memory take for granted the fact that they can recall as much as they can, and use that to taunt, guilt and threaten people with memory issues. many neurotypes and mental illnesses cause memory lapses. traumatic brain injuries can cause memory lapses. brain cancer can cause memory lapses.

even if your memory is good, it's not right to guilt someone because they can't remember something. trust me, people with memory problems are desperately trying to remember: it's just that we literally can't. it is a very literal "i can't remember".
